Basically, Kyle in his anger might naturally gravitate toward a source of water to calm himself down. So he goes to the top of a waterfall, admiring the pretty view. He kicks out, in fury, at a rock or something. The mist from the waterfall has made the rocks (or grass, moss, etc.) under his feet slippery. Ergo, he falls and breaks bones. Unless he's got some trick where he can turn himself entirely into water and splash harmlessly down into the lagoon below and reform. (The pools under waterfalls are usually lagoons if they're not full-fledged lakes.)
No, in her vision, he fell on some sharp rocks (you know, the kind typically at or near the bottom of a waterfall). The ones in my imagination are jutting out about halfway down the waterfall, along the side of it (not actually in the main falls, but close enough to be surrounded by mist that the top of the waterfall might be slippery). Again, I tried to write it so he doesn't have to be at a waterfall. Her vision could be fake if you don't think it fits his character.

Sorry for springing that on you so suddenly Kathryn (do you like to be called Kathy? O,o). It was like a spur-of-the-moment idea that popped into my head when you wrote "...stormed off..." and the little devil voice in my head was like: "Yessssss, this would be the perfect chancccccee to sssshow off Lin'sssss powersssss!" EDIT: The way I wrote that post BTW means that Kyle could still also be at the fire pit. Lin's turmoil could have triggered a false vision. This could be used to further put Lin in the twins' doghouse if you wanted, lol.

Lin sighed, her shoulders finally sagging in defeat. "Yeah, I thought I was telling him what he needed to hear. I honestly thought I was helping, but I have to remember that I'm the new person here. You have to build a rapport with somebody BEFORE you start giving them advice." She gazed out the cafeteria bay windows over the rest of the camp compound. To her delight, she actually saw smoke rising from what must be the firepit, so navigation was no longer an issue. She stood there for a minute or two, pondering all that had been said and how she might have broached the subject more maturely...or if she should have just kept her mouth shut.
Turning back to Ivy, she asked softly, "So would you rather go track down your brother or head to the firepit? I'll help you, whatever you decide. And next time I see Kyle, I promise I'll apologize for butting in." This complete roller coaster of emotions was new to Lin. She'd been on her own for so long with only the occasional street bands and Frisco dock stooges for company. It was a welcome change and yet it also gave Lin a fear of rejection, a feeling she hadn't had since her last foster home many years ago.
Suddenly Lin gasped as a spike of pain in her temple made her fall to one knee, cradling her head in her hands.
The unmistakable image of Kyle standing next to a waterfall, gazing down on a beautiful vista spread out before their eyes. A horrible feeling in her gut told her something bad was about to happen. In the vision, Kyle kicked out at something with his foot in anger, a rock perhaps, but he slipped. He fell. tumbling over the precipice and Lin screamed. Dream Lin ran to the edge and peered over. Kyle's body lay broken over sharp stones, his body beginning to liquefy with all the moisture around him elevating his powers. The eyelids closing, melting....
Lin snapped back to reality, shivering, covered in a cold sweat. "I-I-Ivy...don't panic. I-I think we need to go find your brother right NOW. He might be in some trouble and it's all my fault. D-d-do you know where a waterfall is nearby?" Standing up, she bit her lip to keep from breaking down in tears right then and there. Lin wanted Ivy to see her in the best, most responsible light possible, and to do that she needed to remain calm. It was only one possible future. It didn't have to be true. It couldn't be true. It couldn't. Maybe there was no waterfall nearby. Maybe there was but Kyle hadn't arrived at it yet. Maybe he went some place else entirely. So many unknowns...Lin's head began to ache as she suppressed all the possibilities as they tried to smother her.
