Hi, I'm Monster, but you can also call me Katie if you'd like! I'm a huge video game geek who loves to write. I've been writing on forums for a few years now. If you ever want to talk, just send me a PM and I'd be glad to chat you up. I am currently on a major D&D kick, so I guess that's spurring me back into this site after such a long and much-needed break). :D

I'm a complete sucker for apocalyptic, fantasy and sci-fi roleplays. Anything that tests limits and provides MAJOR character development. That's some good ish.

Okay, I've posted the poll for the mission in the chat.

Please proceed there to place your vote. Choose what you'd like!
Worn and tired, the battered woman lifted her flaming eyes to the paper that had managed to slide it's way underneath her door. Raising a brow, Aaelith heaved herself up from the ground, groaning at the sudden wave of pain flowing through her body and flowing through her nerves, pricking at her like dull blades.

She could hear her pulse quicken, her mind beginning to numb along with her body, the lithe demon stumbled over to the slip of paper, the curious little object fraying upwards at the end, obviously not handling the transition from the outside into her room well. Picking up the darned thing had been as much a challenge for her as lifting herself had been. Bending at the waist, mouth etched in a frown, Aaelith secured her lengthy fingers around the paper's edge and lifted it up in one single, yet clumsy swoop. Only to frown at the paper itself. Or - the letter..

A sigh drifted around the room, falling through the crisp air alongside the letter.
She had shed herself of her previous attire, now laying in a blood-stained hump at the darkest corner in her room. Slithering into a pair of tight blue jeans, paired with a dark t-shirt, making sure to cover her fresh scars with a small scarf laying atop her neck, haphazardly wrapped around her - a snake waiting to fully constrict it's prey. Her hair was released from it's tight ponytail and laying down at her collarbone, meeting and melting over the scarf that lay there.

Blinking away the pain from her eyes, Aaelith bunched her hands at her sides and stormed out of her door, listening to the faint swish of it closing once again behind her. Gathering her wits, and rebuilding her wall, she glanced to her left, seeking out the window that lead to the garden. Stars were already beginning to splay across the night sky, their light transcending the layers of darkness and providing help to the moon. It was horridly splendorous. She loathed loving the sight that seemed so trivial, yet so vital all the same.

Letting out a small breath of air, Sam pocketed her hands and turned, walking towards the small group just ahead, accumulating together, bunching into groups already. She almost laughed at the sight. They were already close, something she hadn't expected at all. They were supposedly all alike, in their own special way. All of them were outcasts, they had done the unthinkable. They had been created differently. Difference made you dangerous. Yet, here was most of the team, chatting away, some with genuine smiles, and other's presumably for the hell of it. Altogether, it was as much a sight as the stars outside.

As her fiery gaze swept over the many different shapes and forms, Aaelith felt a wave of regret swarm her, engulfing her in a fresh wave of pain - this time buried deep beneath the skin. Perhaps tomorrow she would get a chance to talk to them before they set out on the mission. She couldn't avoid them forever, she reasoned, as they were a part of the team now.

When she was about two or three feet away from the group, Sam cleared her throat, her face set in a calm mask, her eyes an inviting fire. "I apologize, but you should probably head to your rooms for the night." Her voice dipped lower, behind her eyes was a warning never to reach the surface of day. Quickly continuing, Aaelith rose her voice to better travel between them, from her throat to the group. Silky and smooth, her words soared through the air.
"We have a long day ahead of us, so I'd like to have each of you at your best. That said, sleep is a good idea." Offering a small lift of her lips, Sam gave a small nod to the group before heading off, deeper into the manor. Not before noting the pull in her chest. This time - it wasn't due to her monster. No....Something evil was close, not human. It wasn't her... Then who?

She tried to glance back at the group, ready to gaze into them, but stopped herself. It couldn't be - she must just be tired. Or perhaps her dam of sanity had finally collapsed in on itself.
Yawning as she walked out of the hub, Aaelith winced at the soreness enveloping her body. She was drained both emotionally and physically. She had just announced the end of the day, something she felt would be a common occurrence. Trudging down the hallway, her combat boots sliding against the hardwood floor, Sam peeked into each room she passed on her way back to the left wing. She hadn't half of the squad after they had all separated, maybe there would be someone in these rooms. After the fifth room passed with no result, Aaelith shook her head and walked past the game room, head down with exhaustion. Right now, there was only one thing on her mind.

There it was. Just beyond the sparkling pool and manicured lawn, with the twinkling stars overhead. The empty woodlands, beautiful and dense - her escape. Sitting down on the living room couch, leaning into it's softness, she sank into the cushions. Where she would wait until the moon hung high overhead, and she could allow herself to become one with her demon form once more.
I'll get started on reviewing and working on a post now.

I apologize for my absence recently, but a great deal has sprung up with family matters. I'll be on more frequently now, and I hope to get the roleplay started.

EDIT: My post will be up tomorrow, and then the voting will begin. After this, whatever mission has been selected will begin. I'll see you all tomorrow!

Sauntering down the hallway, with her tawny ponytail swishing from side to side each step she took, the tall and tranquil woman pocketed her hands into her dark azure blazer. Today had definitely gone less than to be expected. Easy. Almost too easy. It seemed strange though, that she would seek out a challenge, that she would cling to chaos even now. Sam was shocked to find that she'd rather have complications - given how important perfection was regarding the Mayor and his team. Maybe there was still a part of her that even now, rebelled even against her own safety, endlessly yearning for destruction and insanity.

Balling her hands into small fists, wrinkling her blazer in the process, Sam continued down to her room. Just as she could spot the metal of her door, Aaelith felt a presence behind her. Someone was watching. Turning her dark gaze behind her, she leveled her stare on the mutt that was just behind her now, almost next to her. With a snarl on her lips, Sam turned away, listening halfheartedly to the monotone voice that commanded forth her attention.

With an irritated huff, Sam diverted her attention from the door directly in front of her to turn and face the small creature. With one deft motion, she took her hands out of her pockets to place them at her hips, cocking her head to the side with a masterfully arched brow raising.
"What do I think?" She gave a breathy laugh, though no hint of amusement flashed in her steely gaze.

"I think....." She drew back the snarl, becoming somber in mere seconds. "I think that whatever this is," She motioned grandly around her, arms displaying the rooms, and the manor. "...Is only the beginning of something..." Her eyes darkened, and she opened her mouth to say the next few words, only to close it shut again. "Look -- never-mind what I think. It doesn't matter."

Turning to her door, Sam chanced another glanced at the metal beast. Her head was tilted at a forty degree angle, halfway between the door and Bladewolf. There was something behind her eyes, something less than hard, yet complex nonetheless. As soon as it had appeared, it had vanished, just like the early morning fog.
"Perhaps you should get to fixing a monitor, or whatever it is you do." Edged like a blade, her voice had cut through the silence between them, offering nothing other than her usual vehemence.

With that, Sam uttered her password "Lucter et Emergo", voice smooth as silk and dipped in molten fire. An ancient Latin, her native tongue. Her hand stretched forward, fingertip pressing against the reflective glass of the scanner. As her door opened, she slipped in quickly, hoping to keep the metal mutt from looking in. The door shut behind her.

Her back against the door, Sam covered her face with her hands before sliding down the length of the cold door, throat burning and eyes watering. No matter how hard she tried, she could never be anything but a monster. Lifting her face from her hands, not bothering to wipe the burning tears trailing down her face. As far as she was concerned, they didn't exist. Her eyes flashing, Aaelith stormed to the center of her room, furiously wiping at the remnants of tears. Why she was crying, she had no idea. Maybe the separation from her demon form was finally starting to break her down, piece by piece. Turning her into a puzzle never to be solved.

As she dropped to the middle of her room, candle-light illuminating her golden skin, Aaelith lowered herself down to the floor once again. This time, she clutched at her chest, nails tearing at the sensitive flesh that lay just above her collarbone. Letting out a scream, Aaelith dug deeper. As if she could tear the beast out of her. The fresh scent of metal wafted up to her nose, working it's way down her throat, and embedding itself deep into her lungs. Gritting her teeth, grinding the molars together, Aaelith swallowed the wave of pain that assaulted her.

Pain. It was the only way to keep herself at bay. The only thing to remind her that she was mortal. Pain was her comfort. She could feel it now, her relief flowing out of her veins and down her skin, falling on the hardwood and burning against the floor. Detaching her claws from her lacerated skin, Aaelith leaned towards the ground, placing her forehead against the floor. The beast was at bay for now. A faint tug within her chest told her it wasn't over. It never was. In life, you destroy all that tries to destroy you. That's how you keep living. The only problem was.... What if the thing that tried to destroy you, was yourself?

Guess I've done something wrong too then.

No, what I meant to say, is by sexual standards. I'll make sure to clear that up. So far, you've part aimed to that.

@Charlie
I'll admit, I may have positively jumped the gun earlier. I can own up to that. I did mean what I said though, that kind of thing won't slide with me next time. The bathing scene included, as it offers nothing to the storyline. If you'd like, take something of this sort to PM's.
I understand that it seemed like something your character would do as a man in his situation. Thank you for respecting this.
Yog Sothoth said I only posted like just for laughs

Whatever your intentions, this is highly distasteful. I was slightly off-put at the idea of the character's being openly nude - and if it continued much farther than it should've, I was ready to spring should it. This activity, I would like to point out, is NOT funny. It isn't amusing in the slightest. I don't think that you understood what you were doing, and perhaps meant it as a lighthearted gimmick. Though, I will tell you I found it off-putting in it's entirety.

Charlie said I'm being real

So, grabbing profoundly conveniently placed binoculars to watch exposed women is "normal" to you? Much more so, to be able to spot them through dense woodlands.
I can accept Yog's mistake, as he took it as a childish joke. However, based on your response to the situation, I don't think you understand. So, let me make it a little clearer for you. This is not acceptable in any way, shape, or form. In AMERICA, the country I LIVE in, the one that you made seem like it find's this kind of act extremely okay and normal. It isn't. This is downright perverted, more so, it's morally wrong, the act made me want to gag.

If this is what you consider 'real', I'd consider revising your tone. The bathing scene was originally going to be my only source of complaint, but then it was made a show of. This kind of act is not tolerable in any means, and I will not stand for it. The post you have just made is not only inaccurate, but unsavory.

I'm sorry - but what happened to the character that couldn't hit women because it was wrong? And now suddenly, morality is thrown out the window. Literally. He'll grab a pair of binoculars and watch the show - that he shouldn't even be able to see. Look, this is a warning to all in the rp, I do not want to see anything that I shouldn't have to. What I mean by this - anything that isn't PG by sexual/romantic standards.

This, and anything like it, will be unacceptable. If you cannot oblige by this, much less respect it - you may leave. I hope that I make myself, and my position incredibly clear.

I have the first part of her introduction finished but I'm still working out how I should introduce her to the group. Hmm...

The team has been dismissed and our now on their way to their rooms - or they will explore. That choice is up to them. So, you can bring her in there - near the rooms.

@Everyone
Feel free to explore or make conversation with anyone you see fit. I'll let you know when it'll be nighttime - the time skip will take place then.

Fingertip's digging into smooth leather, the demon leaned back into her makeshift throne, pulse thickening under her golden skin. With a pause, breath hitching, Aaelith cocked her head to the side, struck into a sudden silence. Her domineering smirk fading into a thin-lipped smile, a pinch in the smile forming a dimple on her right cheek. One second, she was pure control. She had already sent a fully grown man reeling - her usual cat-like finesse at play, leaving her to sidle down into her seat with her mask of dominance. Control was everything, and to show it - to masterfully project it. That meant everything.

Her eyes moving downward to stare at the presence suddenly near her feet, Aaelith lifted a brow in curiosity. No matter how long this mutt had been at her side, it was foolish of the robotic beast to be so trusting. It was foolish to invade her space. Still - she made no move to shoo the beast away, remaining silent, yet disgruntled. Noting the motion of his head moving towards her, she glanced back down - the bored look still hanging upon her smooth features. If a robot could convey meaning, she would have presumed the look she was being given now, was one of questioning. She couldn't gather anything from the eyes, which were nothing but red lights. She could, however, see the slight tilt in it's head, similar to that of a child, innocent and inquiring. Narrowing her eyes, the woman gave the slightest nod, almost unnoticeable. Even so - it was there.

Sam was surprised, to say the very least, that she had been met with introductions of any sorts from these people. She would have been fine if they had not offered anything, as she had been welcomed to view their files before they would come to join her. She knew them. Something that she wouldn't care to admit any time soon. From her perch, she had keenly taken in everything about the newcomers. From the way they moved, to the way they spoke. Well - not everything.
Licking her bottom lip, Sam took the opportunity to give another once over at those in her presence. They all seemed strong - capable. Each had already proved very different in the way they moved - the story that their body told was strikingly diverse.
The first to introduce themselves - besides Sam, had been Frostbite. Sam was taken aback at that one. She had expected he would be one to keep to himself, yet there he was, offering his alias. It wasn't the most outgoing thing, mind you, but it was surprising nonetheless. Giving a small nod of acknowledgement to the large blue brute, she turned her attention to another who had caught her eye.

Next, had been Dixie. Or at least that's what she presumed to be the southern bell, as she had adorned herself in a dress fitting of the country and matching boots. According to her file, she had quite an enchanting ability. A lycan of sorts, or werewolf. She had thought of these creatures as nothing but fancy human lore until reading the file that told her different. The girl had taken to looking to the ground now, not offering her name. Sam shrugged nonchalantly, if she didn't want to join in on the fun - why stop her.

She listened as the mutt gave his introduction - his metallic and tinny voice reverberating through the large room. Sam shifted in her seat warily, eyeing the puzzling blonde with her fiery gaze. Lifting her chin to get a better view of the woman, only to stop her movement part-way in shock. Sam blinked dumbly as the woman dropped into a careless bow - obviously gauging for a reaction. Which Aaelith didn't give....until her caked boots nudged against the clean furniture. Sam had taken the liberty to actually clean the place, not her first idea of fun - for this woman to come in and - and... Biting her bottom lip, Sam gave a strangled smile - a mixture between frustration and something else entirely. She was impressed. Irritated - but impressed. She had barely heard the mumble that pushed it's way past her lips. "Sophie"
She would make sure to remember this one.

The youngest within their group - came forth with less reluctance. He was all smiles and bubbly laughter. Sam inwardly groaned at the sight. Too happy for her tastes. She watched with vague interest as he seemed to project a cartoon-like squirrel out of thin air, which was gnawing on a nut like a druggy on heroin. She gave a sigh - and nodded. Saying nothing, she pursed her lips. This was one of the many moments she would come to question why she had left her realm in the first place, at least there she would have been spared the emotions of bubbling human beings. Ugh - they where all just.... Sam brought her right hand up to her temple, rubbing the soft skin, hoping it would relieve the headache she knew would appear anytime now. Complicated - that's what they were. Complicated.

Sam had spaced out then, fingers still lingering against her temple. She had missed the introduction of both Evan and Skylar, yet when she came to, she focused on the pillows that one held in his clutches. Ready to reprimand for whatever the man was planning - hoping to hell it wasn't fight with the lavish cushion's. She would not clean up feathers from the ground - her day was already proving to be both physically and emotionally exhausting. And, she hadn't even gotten to letting them set off on their own yet.

Last to offer an introduction - was Miss Mathews. Her pink dress shining as she stood, semi-drunken smile on her face. Aaelith leaned back into her chair. This should be promising. Oh, and indeed it was. Beauty had spared no detail she saw as important, giving a little back-story as well, her enthusiastic clap had caused Sam to wince - the faint pain in her temple pushing once more against her cranium. Tonight - she would have to turn tonight. Neglecting her actual form had begun to wear at her, turning her mood even sourer than she would regularly behave. When the other's would busy themselves in their rooms, she would seek to go into the gardens, into the vast woods provided for such a situation. If the mayor had done something right - it had been that much.
Certain that their little round of "Break the Ice" had finished, Sam lifted herself from her chair, careful in stepping over Bladewolf and to the center of the room where she hopefully would be heard and understood. To say it once was pain enough - especially in her current state. Once she had found her way to the middle of the room, or something close to - Sam stopped and stood, statuesque in the unreasonably extravagant room. Another thing to thank the Mayor for.

"Now - I don't want to drone on about the wonderful opportunity the Mayor so kindly gave us, as much as you don't want to hear it." She decided to skip the spiel, figuring it would at least save some time, if not save her from another headache inducing position.

"So, instead I'm going to tell you what the plans for today are," Making sure to shift during her speech, to allow her voice to carry directly to each individual before she shifted back to her original location. "For the rest of the day, you can feel free to explore the manor. The only rooms off-limits to you, unless you are given permission by the owner - are the chambers of your fellow teammates. Each room is password protected - by a finger scanner, and requires the voice activated permission of the member assigned."
Perhaps the extra security had been unnecessary, but Sam had wanted it that way. No way was she going to risk anyone stumbling into her room after editing just a mix of her voice - no, they would need to use her live finger, able to read her heartbeat, to get into her room. Or anyone else's for that matter.

"We are currently located in the housing section of the manor - which includes: The dining room, living room, family room, computer room, gym, and the training center. Upstairs is the lab, library, infirmary, and the emergency contact station - which is also located in the underground jet hanger. Besides this - there are two wings of the mansion. The right wing, for all of team two. Each wing has the individual team members chambers, allowing privacy and a personal space. Left wing, for team one, is exactly the same. There are bathrooms in each room, and their is a view overlooking opposite sides of the manor each wing. This area is where the team members will normally congregate outside of missions to talk or work."

With a smirk, Sam thought over her next course of action - teams had already been decided, so, why not move the show along? "Now, I'll be listing off the members of team one, each of you will have a room in the left wing - and the members I mention will be the Ike's you will be going on missions with - so at least try to get along. The same goes for all on team two." She then proceeded to list off all on team one - followed by team two. Her voice was still soft and relaxed - but she was rushing now, clinging to her words to make sure she didn't lapse in her speech while in such a hurry.

Clasping her hands together, careful not to make a loud clap, and turned on her heel. "Meeting adjourned, you may proceed to your rooms - or explore a little before tomorrow. That's when the real fun begins." Her mind wandered back to earlier in the day, the face of another struck into her mind. Pursing her lips in thought, Aaelith dismissed the meeting, and began down the left wing towards her chambers. Inevitably closer to the face she had so vividly remembered.
Alright, thank you for letting me know. There is no need to apologize, I can understand completely.

I wish you the best of luck, Grim.
