Her eyes narrowed at the mention of her Surname. Most people who knew it these days were not the friendly type. "...Yes, he was..." She said cautiously. She was tense now, more then she was before. She was prepared to send Zeke on a rampage.
So, with everybody doing a skip it forward, I guess that means we are ready to move on, right @ariamis?
Zim saluted when told to salute, released it when told to release it. He listened intently on the briefing and the new information given to him.

Split the team in two? Well that wouldn't be too bad, there were two of almost every type in the group already, except for Sigma on sniper, Elora on insight and scout, and Katya on repairs of course. If it were Zim's call, he would put Sigma and Elora on separate teams. Sigma's long range targeting could be used as a spotter early on, and Zim would probably be making use of his Stealth, which would make him being on Elora's team less useful as the stealth put him off the scanners, so he might as well be on the team that didn't have the scanner capability. Beyond that, "Well, I guess it doesn't matter too much," Zim thought.

The new unit type was going to be problematic to be sure. Again, if Zim had it his way, he would have Elora pin-point the mists and other specialty types, so that way someone with long range bombardment could deal with taking them out from a good safe distance. Sigma would do the same on her team, being both the spotter and the person to take them out could be more efficient, other then having to find each one individually.

But, Zim wasn't the one in charge. He would save his opinions unless asked of them.

When it was time to ask questions Zim raised his hand and waited for his opportunity to speak. "Sir, I know the primary objective is to repel the Cruxi invasion. However, if there is an opportunity are there secondary considerations, such as capture of specific unit types?" Blackstar's ability to use the Wave Surger to destroy just specific functions of a machine made him the person for the job if it arose. In an ideal situation he could stealth up to the target and destroy the targets power supply. The pilot might be able to manually eject and escape, but otherwise the unit could be captured for study. Of course ideals and reality were notoriously divergent.
Yay! New Post! Also, Of course I missed you @SillyGoy!
@Dragoknighte you devil, you.
"No, they were all quite nice, really!" Ein responded happily. It was almost as if she had no idea what kind of situation she was really in, that the naivety of her apparent youth had robbed her of the ability to see that she was likely in danger.

"As to who made Zeke? Well if you must know, it was no bearded Dwarf, no sir, it was my very own Father, and me! He taught me how and together we made Zeke, my guardian! Its true, you know, what you said about Obsidian being immune to most magic, but some magic is older then stone, and some magic is older then earth, and some magic, is older then time."

She paused for dramatic effect.

"But that isn't what happened in this case. I mean I guess the magic is pretty old, but it isn't as old as all of that. You see, I don't control the Obsidian, I control the spirit that took up residence within the lava that constantly feeds the obsidian armor any time it does happen to crack. Pretty neat, huh?"
@Ammokkx Mmmk. I mean, Zim being so small for a guy is actual really bad at star first. His only advantage is his resilience and pure strength. Everybody has reach and agility on him, so this form of martial combat is actually quiet terrible for Zim.

Anyways. I think now that Dragoknighte has posted we are just waiting on @SillyGoy and @Apollosarcher, and lets be honest here, folks; We are all putting in some fluff about the classes and reacting to the alarm. Do we really need them to post that they are doing the same thing as the rest of us? Harold will call everyone to attention when the CO or XO enters the room, thats the only thing special about what is happening. If they particularly feel they need to add something about their weeks of training waiting for their machines to come back, then they can add it when it they do finally post, and hopefully there will be more to react to in the next post, putting more value on their limited time.

Just my two cents anyways.
Well, any one up for a training colab in the mean time? Can be a simulator or a hand to hand training, I'm good either way. Save it for the next time we are asked to do a 'down time' colab.
"A long distance is relative," Ein responded following along behind the Dwarf. It wasn't her first time being escorted by those who would just as soon do her harm, she knew not to get any closer to him then he had gotten to her. Trying to maintain the distance, Zeke following close behind Ein, she continued her thought in the high and musical voice of a young elvish girl, a voice most people found as refreshing as music softly sung by a fine soprano, Dwarves though, in her little experience with them, had little joy of music and so probably found her high, soft, and smooth voice an annoyance, a direct contrast to their hard, low, and rough voices. "Distance is relative, you know. You say I came a long way because you assume I came from the forests. I suppose that is true in a long way of looking at it, but truth is, I only traveled a day to get here from where I slept last. I cannot find home amongst my kin in the forestholm of old as you might expect, but rather, I am forced to wander. Politics, I'm sure you understand. But home, as the humans are fond of saying, is where the heart is... which is silly, because it is obviously right here inside of me, but I have taken it to be a figure of speech, to mean that Home is everywhere and anywhere so long as you still live. It is quaint, but I like it."

She took a step on a rock she thought was solid, he skittered away, and she nearly rolled her ankle, but before she could fall Zeke reached out and caught the small elvish girl in his huge Obsidian Hand. She looked up at Zeke before regaining her feet, "Thanks Zeke!"

"Questions for Zeke, aye? Not so sure you'll get much out of him, most people have no idea what it is he says, when he does decide to say something... What kind of questions is the Obsidian Smith going to have?"
Haha, pro tip... summer courses = same amount of work in less time. Of course, this tip comes too late, obviously.
