@Dark Light@NobodiesHero Both sound good to me!

A little note on the sub-elements: If it makes sense for it to be in the domain of your major element, then it is fine for a sub-element. So while in Avatar lightning was a subcategory of fire, it does make perfect sense that it would be a part of air.

So for anyone else coming in to look at this yet; Fire, Water, and Earth are available still.

In a world where religion and magic are the same things, it is known that all of Creation is made up of the five elements of Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Spirit. All things are made up of a complexity of these elements, the more elements that they are made with, the more powerful they tend to be. Even humankind is made up of only three of these elements; Earth, Water, and Spirit. Because we are only made up of three, we are imperfect and require heat from the sun, air in our lungs, and food and water to survive. Throughout the eons since the creation of this plane of existence, many a Mage has attempted to combine all five elements to create a superior form of life that transcends all of the restrictions on the human body. Most of these attempts failed terribly, but the worst of them succeeded in creating life, though not the life that was intended. Demons have been born into this world created by those who would wish to push human life into purity, however, these broken, twisted forms come out tainted with the pain of their existence and rampage and destroy anything in their path. So a technique was developed to seal away the demons and the Practice of the Five, as it was called, came to become taboo.

The technique for binding a demon, which works on many other life forms as well, involves binding the spirit of the demon into a living thing and further binding that living thing with elemental bands of each of the five elements. Humans have been used, but the impurity within their own spirit drives them mad, making it improper to use as anything but a very temporary last resort. The ideal vessel is a tree. They naturally live long lives, they grow slow enough to make maintaining the bindings easy, and they are generally not capable of going mad.

This story takes place in this world, where you are students of the order tasked with maintaining the bindings on these Hallowed Trees in order to keep the demons contained. There will be a brief flashback period at the very beginning of the roleplay to when you are all children, between the ages of five and seven learning of this awesome responsibility that you will all one day have. Then we will jump ahead to your graduation date, where you will all be between 17-19, and hijinks will ensue. Members of this order are conscripted amongst the very rare Mages that are adept at Spirit. Four of you will also have a focus on another element (one each, first come first serve). It is possible to have sub-elemental focuses, such as metal for earth, but this will be later down the road, for now, focus on the five main categories.

Looking for four to five players, expect your characters to grow and change and be changed as the story progresses.

Everyone forgets about Zim and go off to eat cake without him

Probably. Wouldn't surprise me any.
@redbaron1234 Correct. Everyone is returning to base, mostly alive and intact. Celebrate, rejoice, go visit sick people in the infirmary, help get atty off of black star so Zim can get out, the world is your oyster.
@ArkmageddonCat well silly seems to have gone the way of the dinosaurs again. We'll probably blame it on faulty cloning. Sure, the brain worked this time, but he went to get out of a simulator and his bones had liquified... Try again next time he wants to come back? But heck, at this point t you could just do a quick post about being on a cat walk and seeing us come in, or how you weren't on orders to deploy yet so you were temporarily added to a flight crew and were helping to secure the returning werks or something, if you were still interested in participating. Just thinking out loud. You need to do what you need to do.
@SillyGoy@ArkmageddonCat wake up, combat is done, so you can start interacting with us!
@GarlandDaHero welcome! Fresh meat! Might I make a request? Don't make an artillery/heavyweight. We already have a subsquad of those. Looks like we could use a sniper, or more mid-range assault types, or a support mech of some sort would be cool, if you were looking for suggestions! But as always, it is a game and we are all meant to have fun, so do what you want to do, those were just my strategic/balance suggestions.

Let us know if you have any questions!
Blah, wasn't sure what else to say or do in my post.
As Black Star collapsed to the floor inside the hanger, Zim let out a long low sigh. "We did it partner, we made it back, and we got Serah and Atty back too..." Zim reached for the hatch switch only to realize that Black Star was facedown on it, and Atty was on his backside covering the emergency eject exit too. "This is Zim Hero in Black Star, I seem to be stuck inside at the moment. I am fine, I took no personal damage. Please prioritize getting Serah to medical. I haven't been able to make contact with her, even through physical contact with Atty, so I am unsure of her status. I will standby for extraction."

Zim looked around the cockpit and started turning off weapons systems and other non-essential or non-functional systems. He made sure to keep life support and comms on as he started the shut down sequence for al.kst everything else. "Looks like it will be just me and you for a little while..." Zim said as he settled in for the duration, cracking into the emergency rations.
Checking in to let you all know that I am still around and interested in this rp.
