She was a new student that joined the school not long after Kain discovered his abilities. Kain ended up becoming partnered with her in Chemistry and they didn’t really talk much but they did realize they had similar interests. After class Kain realized he had left his notes back in the classroom but when he reached the class, all she found was Ellie manipulating the plants at the side of room; that were being used for student experiments. Ellie saw him and panicked. She was worried he would report her but instead he smiled. He realized he couldn’t have been the only one. From that day forth, they would be inseparable.
For a few months they would spend everyday in secret, showing off their abilities and having fun like regular teenagers. It was heaven for both of them. Ellie was a gentle girl who would manipulate the earth around her to grow beautiful flowers. Their time would be short-lived until one day the DUP showed up and took both of them away. It turns out they had access to every camera in America and they were accidentally spotted using their powers. They were placed in separate rooms (Kain was given a special one made of metal, no plastic containing Chlorine in it whatsoever and he would gain un-purified natural water and not Chlorine-purified water) to keep away from each other but it didn’t stop them. Every chance they got they would speak to each other, holding each other. However, love wasn’t enough to keep them from the horrors of Curdun Cay. The Scientists there poked and prodded at them. They tried to push their powers, hurting them to get them more powerful. They tortured both of them and they made each other hear their screams. After three years, Ellie died. They tried to push her to her limit and more, she ended up using every strength in her body but she collapsed under the pressure and her heart stopped. They then opened her up like a dog to see the difference between a human and a conduit’s anatomy.
They knew that Kain loved her and to make his powers stronger, they would play her screams every night to him to feed his anger and hatred, to make his abilities more powerful than most conduits at Curdun Cay. Two years since Ellie’s death, the people of Curdun Cay were free thanks to a man named Delsin Rowe, bringing the DUP down in Seattle. Even with this newfound freedom, he was angry and alone. He had no one to share it with and he wanted revenge on those who killed her. Delsin let the Scientists go, his weak mercy let criminals go unpaid for their crimes but he wasn’t like Delsin. He wanted those men too pay and so far he has been on a vengeance spree in the past several years since the downfall of the DUP. He only has a few people left on his kill list and he will kill even conduits that get in his way.
Power: Chlorine Manipulation:- He can control Chlorine-Dominant compounds or Chlorine in general. He can absorb it and use it as a singular element or as a compound (As long as Chlorine is the dominant element). He can turn it into a gas or a liquid.
Power Abilities-:
Acid Bullets:- He can turn the absorbed Chlorine into concentrated Hydrochloric acid bullets and fire it like a machine gun from his hand. The more he uses, the more he drains his Chlorine energy so he practically has set ammunition for it.
Chlorine Gas Generation:- He can generate mass amounts of Chlorine gas and from his hands to choke his enemies to death and to make them suffer as their lungs start filling up with the toxic gas.
Chlorine Gas Transportation:- Just Delsin Rowe did with his smoke powers, Kain can become Chlorine Gas to get around short distances, like over rooftops or into buildings through cracks and vents. He can even go through a building’s plumbing system and move with the Chlorine-purified water system to get around the building. He can go great distances as long as their Chlorine to absorb at the same time (like a cities water purifying system). When there is none, he uses his own supply and it’ll only take him a short distance. That’s why he uses the purifying system to travel around the city quicker. He is travelling with the water, absorbing the Chlorine out of it at the same time.
Chloroform Grenade:- If he ever needs to kill his enemies while they are incapacitated, then he fires a Chloroform bomb which makes them sleepy and distracted (if strong) or knocks them out straight away (if their weak).

Personality: He has been a very uncaring man ever since ‘The Apostate’; he doesn’t care about people’s beliefs or worries. Ever since the whole event happened, he just lost his will to even give a damn about other people’s lives. He chooses to protect himself and get on with his life. He is lonely, lost and he continues to wander aimlessly around the desolated ruins. He tends to be reserved and quiet but the tiniest part of him wishes to have a motive, someone to care for (again) or a group of people to actually give a damn about. History: Darren was born in Brooklyn, New York to a nurse (mother) and (a warehouse manager). They lived in the lower class parts of Brooklyn and they didn’t have much. Darren had no other siblings. It was a stable family household until Darren was 8 years old. His father witnessed a corrupt cop shooting another person in an alleyway. The victim was unarmed. His father was then noticed by the cop and was shot dead there and then. This devastated him and his mother. The cop was found after months of investigating and he was sent to life in maximum security prison. Even with this arrest, his mother still never found closure. She shot herself a few months after her husband’s death. After all that, Darren had to live with his aunt. The boy wasn’t even ten yet and had already witnessed some life-shattering experiences.
Darren wasn’t exactly a good kid during his teens. He would get into much trouble during them for small petty crimes and he even got kicked out of high school at the age of 17. This caused a major rift between him and his aunt. Unless he found some sort of job, he would be kicked out. Luckily, a friend of his knew a friend of a friend that could help him out. Darren eventually discovered he had a very good talent for stealing cars. He was able to break into them, hotwire them and drive away before anybody noticed that it was gone. He would steal the cars and send them to a specific drop-off point for them. He would then be sent cash directly. He was able to pay money to his aunt but he eventually moved out before she got suspicious of what he did for a living. His life was going very well until he was 24.
When he was 24, he had one car job that would change his life. He was sent to steal a basic sedan in Queens. It was nothing new; it should have been a simple job. However, he did not anticipate that it was a planted vehicle by the cops. They were waiting for him. Years of skilled thievery was destroyed. He thought it was odd that the cops were taken him so seriously, there were hundreds of car thieves in New York, why him? As it turned out, one of the cars he sold was a pink buggy that belonged to some spoilt, whiny brat that begged her daddy to try and find the car thief. Unfortunately, Daddy liked to spoil his daughter and he had major connections to the NYPD, which caused them to get off their asses and find Darren. Thankfully, they only charged him with vehicular theft of the pink buggy and the decoy sedan. They didn’t have any evidence on any of the other vehicles he’s stolen. He was given a 5-year sentence in a minimum security prison. He could get out in 3 with good behaviour. His money was kept by a friend of his. He would at least have something to go back to when he got out.
Darren eventually managed to get out in 3 years with good behaviour. He got his money back from his mate and was able to buy a new 2 bedroom apartment but there was one thing he did not expect at his door a few days later. A little 4 year old girl, standing in his doorway with a bag, a little backpack, a little plush pony in one hand and a letter in the other. It turns out that this little girl was his daughter. The letter explained that the girl’s name is Sophie and she needs a place to live. It was written by the mother and it explained that they had sex in the bathroom of a club 4 years ago and she chose to raise the child all by herself. She knew the baby’s father was a criminal and she wanted to protect Sophie from that but the mother became seriously ill and there was no one to turn too. The letter practically begged for Darren to take care of his daughter. Darren was speechless and didn’t know what to do. He eventually discovered he had deep paternal instincts and he chose to take care of her. He finally had something in life to strive for. He used the rest of his money to open a garage and became his own business as a mechanic. He is now working honestly to take care of his little sweetheart.
After two years, they were living happily. Sophie was starting school and Darren was making a decent profit from the garage but that all change when ‘The Apostate’ happened. He had discovered his daughter had vanished. He didn’t know what to do or who to call but then he walked outside and eventually discovered that nearly everyone had vanished. There was no traffic, no voices, lively city chatter. Nothing. The disappearance of his daughter shattered him and destroyed him. He was now dead inside. He begged the universe to give her back, he begged and begged but to no avail. He didn’t know what to do next. He just grabbed equipment from his garage and supplies from his house and left to find answers.
He didn’t find any answers after the first few months. No one knew anything. A military group called ‘The Children Of God’, said that it was God taking the good people into heaven and leaving the rest to die as heathens. He almost believed it but he didn’t approve of Christianity. He has never felt that it had helped anyone and this group were just glorified killers who try to believe some nonsense to justify their brutal actions. It has been years and he is just walking around, doing absolute fuck all. He had a car for the first couple of years but as plant life started invading the roads, it became much too difficult to drive over them, unless you had some sort of major off-road vehicle. Until he can find some sort of motive, he’s just a man without a plan.
Other: He will wear a worn out jacket with some old cargo trousers and some worn out boots. He will not be wearing the same military outfit like in the picture. As I said, the picture is just too mainly show what his face and body structure will look like. He is not a military man. He doesn't have the assault rifle either, only a pistol.

I'm interested. Will there be any small villages created by the survivors? Villages that were created around the ruins of civilization.
I am extremely sorry for not posting an intro post yet. I feel really bad about it but my reason for the inactivity is because my schoolwork is starting to clash together and it is stressful. This is not going to make me stop RPing, as it is not permanent but only temporary and just for a couple of weeks. After that, it'll start to cool down and I'll be back.

Right, okay, near as I can see Lettie is gonna be taking an extremely minimalistic approach to GMing this. I've spoken to her about it a few times but she's even busier than I am and nothing is coming of it. So I'll get a post up either tomorrow or Saturday, and we'll as normal, considering people are quite passionate about this RP. I'll consult with Lettie each time I post to see where it was supposed to head and will attempt to steer it in that direction, as I've never played Resistance and have but the barest of grasps on the storyline. Sera, that's completely fine - I hope you enjoy your trip! This is already settling into a slow post-rate, to say the least, so I don't imagine you'll miss too much.
The reason I'm quite passionate of this RP is because I love the Resistance series and I was extremely giddy when I saw the RP for the first time, so I would hate to see it die.
Also, If you need help with the lore of the Resistance series, I can easily help. I have completed all the games, including the spin-offs and I have read the comics and novels. I can answer any question that would regard the story arc of the series. Just offering in case you need it. :)
