Name of Nation: The Trade Empire of Numburg
Banner:
Government: Veiled autocracy. Outwardly it appears that Numburg is controlled by a small oligarchy however this is only an act used to disguise the fact that true power is retained by one man, the Viceroy. The same falls hand in hand with a citizens rights within Numburg. While it appears they hold a very liberal standing in reality a man's rights can be easily be revoked.
Economy: If you asked a Numburgian he would tell you that Numburg had the most powerful economy in the world. However this is not entirely true, there are a number of other nations that rival Numburg in industry and trade. Even with these rivals there are few who would not respect these financial power of Numburg and fewer still who would not want such a countries support in times of war.
Military: The Numburgian military is not known for it's size or power (both of which are lacking). Numburg seldom requires a standing military and instead uses it's forces as glorified security guards for its holdings around the world. Even with this said Numburgs small military size allows them to individually train and equip each soldier for increased effectiveness rather than the machine esc training of some nations.
Description of Culture: A nation founded by traders and craftsman there is never a shortage of goods in a local Numburgian marketplace. Religion plays little role in the lives of Numburgians instead they trust in science to gather they truths of the universe.
History: Numburg was founded out of a great exodus from it's father country Lancia. Merchants and craftsman alike left en mass after new laws regarding the taxation of trade were implemented. Eventually affairs turned bloody as Lancia attempted to retain it's skilled labor force and merchants. With no where to go the
Territory
Numbar: A sprawling modernized city the capital of Numburg is as vast as it is grand. It is also home to the largest port in Numburg. It is said that anything in the world can be found its truly massive market district.
There are many smaller villages, ports and trade outposts scattered throughout Numburg but Numbar remains the most vital of all Numburgian lands without which Numburgian life would surely perish.
Other: Another note should be of N.T.C. a government sanctioned and operated trading company. It is illegal to operate a business within Numburg without a valid license issued by Numburg trading Company. It should also be noted that N.T.C. is constantly seeking to expand it's influence and profit margin within other nations.
Current relations:
Lancia: With a history stained in the blood of their families there is little Lancia could do at this point to repair it's relationship with Numburg however Numburg will not openly confront it's older brother.
NĂ½umash Hatai: Numburg views the Horse Lords as a stain upon the rapidly civilizing geography of Edonras however their history is not without merit and their skill in battle is without match. Numburg hopes that the Lord's of the flat lands may be an effective mercenary force should they provide ample means of leverage.
Ambrosian Republic of Sarcelle: Numburg views the Republic as both a worthy ally and a bitter rival. Their intake of Numburgian goods is most welcome however they are also viewed as rivals by some Numburgians who simply cannot compete with their superior shipping prices.
Kingdom of Venbrad: Numburg views Venbrad as a fruit ripe for plucking. With a fresh economy full of new investors with capitalistic intents N.T.C. wishes secure holdings of its own in Venbrad and if possible cement a powerful trade alliance with the upstart economy.
