It's absolutely fine not to have magic. Only about 1% of the population are Awakened.

As for gear and cyberware: Something like Wired Reflexes is very popular with (non-Awakened) Shadowrunners, no matter their role. Cybereyes are also very common. It's a cheap procedure, and many regular citizens have them—as such, those who later become Shadowrunners do as well. While trolls have natural thermographic vision, many opt for cybereyes to add stuff like low-light vision, and of course all cybereyes come with an image link. Saves you from having to wear goggles or AR glasses to receive input from your commlink.

Oh, right. Commlinks are pretty important. Think of them as smartphones on steroids. They're not only used for viewing Augmented Reality information (many restaurants have foregone physical menus and only broadcast them onto an AR layer), but also for stuff like communicating with friends (or your teammates in the shadows) and of course surfing the Matrix. Most shadowrunners don't invest heavily in their commlinks, favoring disposable "burner" 'links that can't be traced back to you. Hackers are an obvious exception to this, as their 'links need a but more processing power to crack firewalls. I very much recommend reading the Wireless World chapter in the rulebook to get a feel for how the Matrix works in the 2070's.
I actually linked to the rulebook in the OP ♥

its fairly powerful and fairly common. Common enough to be wasted on things like making decorations or advertisments. But it is not powerful enough to say, stop the bullet from hitting your face.

Unless you've cast an Armor spell on yourself ahead of time. Sometimes it's good to be paranoid ;)
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. If you're having a hard time figuring it out, we can easily figure out some other kind of corruption that'll slowly take hold of Rin.

Yup I was hoping to balance things out by having to create a "blueprint" first in order for more powerful magic :) not sure how powerful magic is in the game soi figured it would help. As for the corruption thing: that was the bit of the twist, his addiction to blood magic might cause him some problems later on. (Like maybe a summoning that refuses to go away)

Definitely a good idea, really adds some flair to it. Spirit summoning and spellcasting is usually a pretty speedy act, but magicians having some sort of limit (self-imposed or otherwise) to their casting isn't uncommon. As for the blood magic: When a magician decides to use blood in their magic, they're usually already on the path of corruption. So I guess you could say things have already caused him problems. Resorting to blood magic (usually using the blood of others, though) could totally be a result of a hunger for power, so if you wanna play that, we can go with it. It does raise the question, though, of why a team of shadowrunners would want to work with a corrupted magician.
Jesus Christ am I hung over

Ollum, great bio.

The Roman07, I like the concept! Of course there's an issue of speed; having to draw symbols all the time isn't the most convenient thing. I'm not sure about the blood thing, though. In the Shadowrun universe, blood magic is elusive and inevitably corrupts the magician who uses it. We can totally go with that, but it might be simpler to replace the blood with something else. What do you think?

Lord Pie: Oh, totally! Street sams are probably the most common since buying your way to speed and strength is a relatively easy way to become a good fighter. But there's a plethora of other ways to do it. You might wanna consider the Huge Troll Bounty Hunter™, armed with a big ol' shotgun and an arsenal of grenades. Or maybe an ex-military character, burned out by the horrors of combat, finding use for his combat experience and tactical skills as a shadowrunner.
Same!
Oh, you did? Then no problem, we can roll with that! :)
