After Apocalypse (OOC)

Henry got into his car and started to drive. The world looked deserted and everywhere he could see dead people and things that vaguely reminded him of animals. Oh god what has happened to the world ? He gritted his teeth trying to keep his focus on the road and not the devastation around. He hit the breaks as he came close to a crossroad, but as he waited for the light to become green he figured out how stupid he was Jesus Henry...there is no one around, just drive

It took him half an hour before he arrived at the mall that he had used to go to, he had figured that there had to be some kind of food stored in there. He stopped as close to the entrance as he could, grabbing his thing he jumped out of the car and ran to the doors. They didn't open and a shot of panic rushed across his mind What if I can't get in ? What if there is something waiting in there He balled his fist and wrapped in his shirt, he had to get in, he had to get food.

The glass shattered after 4-5 punches and once he had a hole it was pretty easy to make it bigger. He dug shards of glass out of their place until he could just barely get in, it was better to make a small hole so what ever was out there could not get in. Gathering his thoughts for a moment he looked around the mall and to no surprise he couldn't see anyone. After a loud sigh he set of running towards the food court.

Backstory:
Henry had a totally normal upbringing along with his two brothers. He wasn’t that great at school, but he got by, he found friends or has he said “the family I picked” and in the end he found someone to love. The two of them went everywhere together and at his 18th birthday they moved in together. Henry was really happy, but as all good things, it does not last.

The night the apocalypse came Henry and his boyfriend where curled up in bed, sleeping softly or that was until they heard the sounds outside. Henry was told to stay in bed and was reassured that his boyfriend would be back as soon as possible. Closing his eyes Henry tried to go back to sleep, but then the sound of a heart piercing scream came from downstairs.

Henry ran down only to find his boyfriend soaking in a pool of his own blood, all seeming to be coming from several bite marks. Kneeling down next to him Henry felt how fast his heart was beating, how his skin seemed to be burning. Henry held his boyfriend’s body against his own until he felt the heart beat fade away and then another good 30 minutes as he cried hoping this was all just a bad dream.

Henry stayed in the house for a few days. He buried his boyfriend; he cleaned up the blood and made sure that there was no way that anything could ever get in. He didn't leave the house until he was out of food. He packed just what he needed, some clothes, some water and a knife; then he set off into the world that was awaiting him.
