Commander Hale sighs softly in response to Aura’s words. She was always pretty stubborn in the past so this was not entirely new to Hale, even still, she hoped this time would be different. Seeing Neil trying to calm down the situation, Hale takes this time to prep up a electronic version of the mission details with more information than she can say aloud. Adding in details like a map and other notes, she receives direct communication from another Commander. Her eyes widen a bit and her facial expressions can’t hide some slight confusion.
The timing of this expression matched Yazmin’s comment about not being sure if she could kill. This snaps Hale out of her thoughts. “Hmm? Oh, sorry.” She quickly finishes up and sends the details to all 4 people involved. “If you check the report, that should relieve some pressure on such thoughts. However, you’ll see why this is a bit … hard to ascertain. As Neil said, you dont have to go in guns ablazin’, but you have to follow the objectives.” She places a tablet down and puts her hands on her hip. “Just don’t get dead. I’ll keep saying that until you all understand.”
She turns and motions to one of the engineers. They scurry past the three, heading toward the hanger, picking up the tablet Hale sat down. “One more thing. Looks like the odds of success increased. We’ve been sent a new pilot straight out of training with Fadio’s blessing. You should know this one Aura. He’s waiting with his Valkinai in the Hangar.”
In the background, the sounds of machinery and mechanics directing could be heard. It’s also hard to miss as a Large Valkinai is placed gingerly in the corner of the cramped base. Looks like a base renovation would be in order soon, or a base relocation. Only time will tell.
“With this, you have 3 soldiers under your command, Aura. If you haven’t noticed already, the mission reports have been sent to all of you with all the answers you seek. If you got anymore questions, come on back in here but otherwise, you’re free to do as you wish until mission time.” Hales stiffens her stance in order to see if they had anymore questions but mostly, she had moved on to other things that needed her attention. The engineer had come back, at this point, and handed Hale back her tablet. The moment it reached her, she started to work.
