"Hm..." Sebastian stopped for a second to think too, "If I'm not mistaken, I think you bought us the last round. Yes, I think that was it. I still remember what you were saying that day, about those bloody Niscenii and how they gave you a bad feeling. I remember saying you were overthinking it." the half-elf shook his head, "I'm sure they've got nothing against our little town."

"Thanks for that, Rowan. I'll definitely pay it off if she needs."

Corinne grinned up at Benjamin with those bright blue eyes and grabbed him by the hand, "That's amazing." She looked behind him over at Rowan with a thankful expression, "Thank you, Rowan! I promise I won't get your boy into too much trouble."
She got on her tip-toes to give the youth's cheek a little kiss before leaving his grasp to get the bread. It was difficult to find a decent, clean cloth in the entire place but finally she did find one, and wrapped up the almond bread loaf, pressing it into the boy's hands before smiling as she stood at the entrance of the forge, beckoning for him to join her after a little word to his father, "Rowan, Ben and I are going off to the forest for a picnic. That's okay with you, isn't it?"
She barely waited for an answer before she was out the door, with the boy in check, and met with a loving nuzzle from Lysander, whom she pulled herself up on while the boy chose to walk alongside her. She left Sebastian at the forge, or to do whatever he wanted with his time until she'd get back. She knew he'd take care of himself. And he was very well capable.

On their way out, they stopped over by to see Ben's mother, who rather gladly made a pot of tea for the two of them, which they thanked her heartily for. The pot was wrapped in more cloth and carefully balanced on Lysander's saddle, at least for the time they were walking in the city. Corinne would hand it over to Ben when or if she needed to run.
On the way to the closest exit out into the forest, Corinne spotted an interesting duo making their way through the streets. It was almost at the edge of that side of town, but the two could not have been mistaken for anyone else.
"Elric...?" she squinted a little, "Miss Tirarian, is that you?!"
Noticing the man hobbling, she drove the horse into a little trot, with Ben following as best as he could on the cobblestone. "Elric, miss Tirarian. Fancy seeing you out here, and..."
Her voice drifted. Something didn't seem truly right about the situation. He looked exhausted. She turned to the gnome, whose size she stood at least three times as tall as while on horseback, though she didn't dismount just yet.
"Miss Tirarian, is he alright? You look...anxious, and he looks even worse than the night before. I told him to stay at home and rest right after he'd gone and treated to those at the tavern last night...did you know what happened last night?" she blinked at the gnome, "It was horrid, it was. They broke right into his house, they did."
She sighed a little, with Benjamin holding the pot a little tighter. He seemed just as worried, though much less vocal about it.
"...where are you two headed to? I'm sure Cherry wouldn't mind giving Elric a lift, and you can tell me on the way. In fact, allow me to. It's the very least I can do when he's like...that."
"I was worried about him when they told me, too. Hope the good man is okay." Sebastian's face mirrored the concern, though it was replaced by a little chuckle, and his voice took elements from his elven side as he almost purred in response to Rowan's narration. "Working you hard, Rowan. I know exactly what you mean."
He looked over at Corinne, sitting on the makeshift sack-chair in the corner, and shook his head and his dark brown hair out of his eyes and imitated her to the best of his ability, deep voice almost murdering the rendition in falsetto "Uncle, you've got to stop drinking, it'll destroy you. Uncle, come down and talk to me, you're always up alone. Uncle this, uncle that." and he laughed, almost oblivious to the elf's features drooping from the corner as she watched him imitate her like that. She didn't think it was asking too much of him personally, but...he wouldn't be able to see past his growing addition, it was his own fault. "Uncle, stooop, pleeeease..."

And she pulled the verdant green hood over her head a little in response, almost whimpering from where she was, a little embarrassed and evidently uncomfortable. It didn't take long for Sebastian to catch onto it though, and he excused himself from Rowan's current work to go and kneel before his niece, using a hand to tilt up her chin and have her look into his grey eyes. They glittered like always, though at his delicately crafted lips was a little apologetic frown. "Sorry, my flower."
And she sighed a little and looked away from him with a bit lip, though he turned her head to him again and stroked her cheek with hardened hands. They were from his crafting days, that isn't to say he didn't craft anymore, but his work was not as legendary as it once had been, leaving Corinne the primary bread-winner. "Don't be like that, Corinne...I said I was sorry, didn't I? I really am."
She sighed and placed her hand on top of his, finally smiling just a little. "...yeah, I know, Uncle Seb. Go on, I'm sure you and Rowan have more to talk about."
"That's my girl." he smiled softly now, and messed up her hair which made her pout, and made his way back to where Rowan was. "Moody, my girl. At least Benny isn't like that..." he said in a hushed voice, "Though Roslyn, I'm sure she gives you trouble time and time again. Lassies, of any age, are so difficult to understand, eh?"

He eyed the sword, eyebrow raising in that characteristic Corinne inherited from her mother, who shared it with her brother. "It's a beauty, that's for sure. Still wonder how that elf carries it with her. Listen, Rowan." he brought his voice down, playful as ever with a glint in his eyes accompanying it, "I'll pay the balance if she's a little short. You know those travellers, most of them struggle to just find a decent place to stay, and now with The Hippogriff as it is, I-"

He was interrupted by a familiar voice that made Corinne almost jump out of her seat.
"Well, welcome back Ben!"

"Well look who it is," Sebastian turned and gave the brown haired, blue eyed boy a little wave. "Welcome back, Ben. Corinne's be-"

"Oh, uncle!"
He could barely finish his sentence before the elf struggled up from the little pile of sandbags, and quickly closed the distance between herself and the young human male. The funniest part was, she was a good three odd times his age, though it didn't matter in the slightest, you could look at both and she'd still seem a little younger. He was around nineteen or twenty human years, inheriting the best from his father and his mother. Brown haired, bright blue eyed and standing well above six feet, at six foot four or so. He was wearing the typical, dark, fitted trousers and light boots under a shirt with sleeves rolled up to expose his forearms, not overly muscular but definitely having seen a lot of work at the forge. Though normally he had his apron on when he was at the forge, it was hung neatly on a little hook in one corner of the workplace, where he and his father hung up their aprons for the evenings. He had just enough time to set down a large roll of almond bread on a nearby clean table before Corinne wrapped her arms around his neck and one of his arms snaked around her waist and gave her a little squeeze. She embraced him rather tightly, almost glowing with light and life at seeing the youth again. She couldn't help but smile, and flush, and every last telltale symptom denying that they were 'just friends'. "Benjamin, there you are! Where were you? I...I longed to see you!"
Evidently, the bakery...though she was curious what the occasion was.
"Is that almond bread?" her nose caught the scent of the warm roll and it made her lick her lips, "It smells delicious!"

"Look at those two." Sebastian rolled his eyes exaggeratedly, leaning against one of the walls closest to where Rowan was working, "I don't know. I'm just glad she's happy. Bet she keeps your son busy too, eh?" he scratched the back of his head before staring off into the distance. "They don't mind very much here in Estermere, since she's my niece and all, but...anywhere else, a relationship like that would mean nothing but trouble. I should know...heh." Sebastian's voice trailed off, "Us halves found it difficult enough to belong. Hence I like it here. The mayor really is a swell guy...ah."
He is super adorbs though, right, Vec? <3 The little redheaded farmerbarbersurgeonman.
Go on, children. Meet with Ashera.
...whose name actually means "10", as a fun fact, but I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind.
Alas, Ben is back! >> <3 Time to act cutesy awkward and shoo away the old men just 'cause.
I swear, if you kill him off soon, Wyvern... << I'll rek u.
That's alright, friend! Do your best!
Also. I'M SORRY WYVERN, FRIEND.
And on that note
There is so much Elric X Tirarian shipping I can't even
Tirarian is best midget-wife. I shall call it... Elrian/Elrarian. Or...Telric.
Telric sticks.
Telric. We ship it.
The girl had striking features, though the little grime and dark circles hindering such beauty made Corinne pout, just a little bit. She was sure a nice bath would fix her right up, but The Den was not the most...um.
"Farewell, Julia, and the best of luck be with you." Corinne smiled and touched two of her fingers to her lips serenely as the woman tipped her hood and went on her way. The sign for prayer and parting, yes. She prayed the half-elf would have an easier time ahead. But who wouldn't. The Den was...nice.
Suspicions confirmed with hooting coming from the rickety doors of the building that was a little bit away, and sounds carried all the way to the forge made Corinne shudder.
Poor, poor Julia...
You can say that again.
But I didn't say anything.
Oh...you know what I mean.
Lysander whinnied. Corinne shot him a look to which he acted oblivious, snorting a little and lowering his head to drink from the water trough the smithy had been kind enough to put out for visitors on horseback.

"Strange...I could have sworn it was something." Corinne pursed her lip, though not for long as she noticed Rowan's smile, and his missing teeth, and couldn't help but return it to the man. She was blushing a little at the mention of Ben's name, but nodded eagerly. "I shall wait here for him then, Rowan. Thank you very, very much!"
And she proceeded to find herself a nice little corner somewhere within the building, piling it up with some of the lighter bags of sand that lay about for multipurpose, and creating herself a nice little corner in which to sit and wait for Ben to return. She always enjoyed watching the smithies work. The way they created new from old, and made old new again, and improved and chipped away and worked at their labours of love until they were beautiful, and perfect, in her eyes. She held much respect for Rowan and Benjamin. And his mother was a wonderful old woman too, though she often had the habit of musing about Corinne as her daughter, which made the elf laugh and correct her often.
There was nothing like that going on between herself and Ben. Really. Really really. Really really really.

Sebastian was all too happy, clapping a hand onto the man's back during the hug and grinning up at him eagerly. "Same old, same old. Enjoying my ale. Though, I had the strangest dream last night, if you'd believe it...can't remember it now though. Shockingly enough, did you notice Pucksy's was in ruins this morning? I woke up in one of the rooms, which was surprising, went down and half the place was blown to bits. Crazy, innit? Oh well...there goes the best ale in town, at least until they're sorted again. In other news... The missus and the boy been givin' ya trouble, eh? Corinne's the same. Always, always nagging me on. It's crazy." he laughed. She pouted over at him. He shot her a mock-apologetic glare which made her smile again. It wasn't the things he said, but the ways he said it that mattered. "Nagging me on about your boy too, if you'd believe it..."
"Uncle!"
"Sorry, my flower!"
She blushed like crazy. "I...I..." threatening as she wanted to sound, it was nowhere near what it should have been with her blushing like that.

"Still, Rowan..." Sebastian looked over at the table where the woman had left her sword, and his fingers seemed especially focused on the pommel.. "Big piece of work for a little lady like that. These days, all those kids are so full of surprises. Think this beauty'll be good as new by tomorrow?"
Plot Twist: Each and every character has connections with the Niscenii empire, and we're all secretly just a bunch of bad guys who will end up taking over Estermere as one huge collective entity.
Nobody is innocent.
Everyone is a threat.
Unite, the Niscenii Empire will rise.
I remember that, Fated. x.x I think you play either well. Which makes me curious about your gender irl.
...also, who wants to tell the poor boy that Pucksy is in care of the church right now because he was attacked and the Hippogriff is in ruins.
Bump!
As for lesser characters doing their own thing:

At the Astronomer's guild, a half-elf traveller who has just arrived to our little town of Estermere and a half-orc scholar were exchanging information about how the elf could get taught there, which is what he's always wanted. Let's call him Trafalgar. The half-orc scholar's name I've forgotten. <<" Sorry Wyvern. Anyway, another half-orc, called Shork, (who is besties with my chara Corinne) joins them, surprised that the rumours of a half-elf scholar in Estermere are true, and just generally welcoming the half-elf as well because he knows how it is to be ill-treated by the fullbloods. They all bond and exchange information with the scholar about the guild.

A full elf, Corinne, and a half elf, Julia, just met at the remains of the tavern from the destruction by the Jel the gnoll and his ugly rabid dog pet thing the night before, where Julia had just arrived to the town at as well. Corinne was there to pick up her uncle, who had passed out by...a certain someone's doing. *AHEM TRAFALGAR* the night before. She was just checking if he was okay, because he was in one of the rooms upstairs and she left the tavern in a hurry to see where the gnoll and his pet's rampage led to, which happened to be Elric's home. Regardless, the two ladies meet, and they walk towards the smithy, and nearby also happens to be one of the more shadier taverns, The Hunters' Den. or more simply, The Den. They speak leisurely, Corinne, Julia and Corinne's uncle Sebastian Vaudrey, who happens to be a half-elf. So he's kind of her half-uncle, since her mother shares only a mother with the man. His father was human, and hers was elven.
REGARDLESS SHE'S BEEN LIVING WITH HIM FOR A HELL OF A LONG TIME SO HE'S HER UNCLE.
Anyway, they reach the smithy, part ways with Julia there who heads to The Den. Corinne finds her love interest, the blacksmith Rowan's son, is not at the forge at the moment and chooses to sit and wait for him there. Both to see him and to ask him about some fruity rumours.
Uncle Seb is just having a good old time with Rowan.

Note: Elric the barber surgeon has a huge hole in the side of his house. In his house currently, we have Remmington, dealing with a little girl there who thinks his study is a playroom and is absolutely adorable and has no idea Remmy is...well, not what he seems at least, and helps him unknowingly to the best of her ability, but for someone her age it's not very...good. Also note, she's a vampire. She cannot leave the house. Her father however, James, has.gone out to scout the city and left her in Elric's care. Elric...well, at the moment, happens to be knocked out by some guards and taken from the house. Tirarian is currently in pursuit of the guard possessing him, who is called Mimsy, and James panics and makes for the house to check if his daughter's safe.
And who knows if she is, with Remmy being so close by and his temper being this short...

And in other news, a little 'demon girl' as they call her in the poorer part of the city, Harkness Street, was being harassed by the public, and she lost her cool and her ghost summoning powers manifested, and she scared everyone off and they think she's a witch and they're going to take her to church to 'purify' her again and make her repent for her sins and devil worship. Her name is Liesel. She's very quiet, but also very quaint. She spends a lot of time tending to the graveyards. Currently there are no active characters interacting with her, save NPCs. Perhaps Delvin would like to be her knight in shining armour, and tell the townsfolk to back off because she's just a child?
Note, she's unworldly pale. I don't know if he'd notice that off the bat.

Oh, and a high-elven missus is in the city as well, another traveller I'd suppose, and she's a demon hunter and came because of the high level of demon activity she heard of in the area. (Does this mean we'll have Liesel-Leara interaction soon? 'You're the demon?' 'No I'm no-' 'QUIET. BE GONE.') And she's trying to make a name for herself there. Though cleverly enough, she's actually a demon tool herself and made some sort of blood ritual pact with them and basically she has green eyes and is 2sp00py4me but also bewitchingly beautiful. Like all elves.

And SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW on gnollish plains, Ark the gnoll is being interrogated about his tribe because of the attack the night before by a dwarf and two pretty pissed humans but they figure out he captured a dark elf (elves tend to go hunting a lot, my chara Corinne is a hunter herself) who had wounded one of his tribe members, and they took him in and found out something wasn't quite right with him and so they are proceeding to claim Ark and his pack innocent. I think they also offer him a peaceful citizenship so long as they keep at bay with attacks and no elves are meant to hurt them ever.

So... (TL;DR)

Available characters and interactions:
Singles:
Julia at The Den, currently probably rethinking her options and gulping because they're a rowdy bunch.
Corinne at the smithy, waiting for her lover from wherever he's gone out. Hopefully Wyvern hasn't killed him off yet. I'll skin him if he has.
Liesel at Harkness Street, being harassed by the people of the town in the area/
Leara at ??? location, dealing with a rat demon infestation, if I'm not mistaken.
Ark the gnoll, who is currently being interrogated by a dwarven member of Estermere guard about the attack last night. Has nothing to do with it. A dark elf discovered in his mitts. Will you be passing through gnollish plains in order to meet with this gnoll and the conversation happening here?

Doubles:
Shork and Trafalgar at the Astronomer's guild, talking to a scholar and discussing general magic and abilities.
Elric is knocked out, but he should be back soon enough. Tirarian the gnome is in hot pursuit of his captor. You could join.
James Hawthorne the human knight, currently rushing home to meet with his daughter Anya and make sure she's safe, though she prolly isn't with guard Remington so close by.

Have I forgotten anyone? Hope not. Hope this helps you see where to jump in!
god it's a matriarchy my fair ladies.
