Here's my close to canon rendition of Aquaman's nemesis (it's not really him) who is now good. @Omega Man or @WXer Please tell me if this needs some revisions
Player Name: MysteryBroom
Primary Character: Manta
Secret Identity: Jackson O'Reily (he has changed his original name to this, the reason can be found in bio)
Status:Reservist JLU
Age: 27
Day Job: Works a design engineer and design consultant at Atlas Design and Engineering Firm
- Superhuman Strength: Gives the wearer the strength equal to that of Aquaman or any Atlantian who are significantly stronger than humans. - Durability: the suit is temperature regulating and can withstand extreme temperatures. It is also bulletproof and is highly resistant to impacts. It can withstand damages but persistent blows can damage the wearer's body since it will absorb some of the shock. It can also survive the depths of the ocean and withstand enormous amounts of pressure. The suit neither wears or tears. However, it can be destroyed via an enormous amount of force. - Superhuman underwater mobility: Gives the wearer incredible speeds when swimming or diving water. The speed can be similar to a torpedo shot underwater but at much greater speeds. - Camouflage: The suit can change its colour depending on the surroundings if the wearer wishes. It also conceals the wearer’s body temperature and wards off any infrared vision. - Artificial gills and oxygen system: Allows the wearer to breath in oxygen underwater for an indefinite amount of time. When out of the water, the oxygen recycling system can supply the wearer with oxygen if he is lacking any.
- Durability: it shares the same degree of durability as the main suit has. It is made up of an advanced metal alloy and protects the wearer from trauma. It neither wears or tears - Augmented sight: the helmet is equipped with all technological means of enhancing one’s sight. This includes night vision, binoculars, magnifier, infrared, thermal, and X-ray vision. - Laser eyes: the helmet can shoot lasers out the eyes which are streams of particles which can be as hot as the sun or greater. - Speech augmentation: manipulates the voice of the wearer to conceal the real vocals. - Signal receiver and broadcaster: the helmet can pick any signal from any spectrum at any bandwith. As well as broadcast at specific spectrums at any bandwith. This ability is restricted by distance however. It cannot pick up signals too far and cannot broadcast signals at great distances.
- Harpoon gun: a custom harpoon gun. It shoots diamond-tip harpoons which are attached to titanium cable. Sharp and durable. - Two short swords: A pair of short swords which are made from an advance titanium alloy. Lightweight, sharp, durable and rust-free. - Prototype trident: not Aquaman’s trident, this is a ordinary trident made from experimental carbon nanotubes which mean it has the strength of and resilience of diamonds and can be used as an excellent conductor. It does not have any magical properties. - The Manta Sub: The good old Manta Sub that Black Manta used. It comes equipped with essentials like life support, a medical bay, torpedos, guns and other arsenal, and etc. The Sub is also powered via a thermonuclear reactor in its engine.
- He is human, any major injury would gravely wound him or kill him. - As for the suit, it is not resilient to magic. It also has lots of electronic components which means when dealt with a large current of electricity, the suit could malfunction. Or worse, the electric shock could cause brain failure, heart failure or even full organ system damage. - The suit doesn’t provide any means of augmenting stamina or respiratory abilities. In short, the wearer can get tired or fatigue after activities. - Jackson has suffered bouts of hallucinations due to his past of drug abuse. This has challenged his mental state to be able to focus since the hallucinations occur randomly. These days, the hallucinations are about his friends who were killed by the pirates. - Short sighted, he can’t see well without glasses or contact lenses. He has modified the helmet to help him see clearly. - A huge weakness of his: he is a novice at combat experience. He relies solely on his suit and decent physique. Side note, he is a terrible shot.
- A damn good engineer with a master’s degree to boot. He his great at structural design. - Excellent swimmer - Great cook, he has taken a specialty in sea food. - Pretty good at scrabble
Underneath the suit, he is 6' with a light brown skin and black hair. He prefers a clean shave and his hair is always cut short.
Jackson Raymond O’Reily, born from a rich, elitist family, from day one he was spoiled rotten. His father, a industrialist, his mother is a logistics tycoon. He had the whole world on a silver platter and everything he wanted was given to him in a whim.
At college, he went to Ivy league and took engineering just to continue his family legacy of engineers. Once finishing his bachelor’s degree, he took his father’s yacht and went on a cruise around the seas with his friends. Every day was a whole new party from dusk till dawn. They’ve taken their travels to every major port and harbor they could find and party some more. But his fortune would soon turn against him, when they ventured out to open seas and found themselves at the mercy of pirates. They took Jackson and all his friends hostage for ransom.
They held them hostage and awaited ransom. However, this process took weeks on end and this tested the patience of the captors and before long they were surrounded by navy and military forces. Outraged, the pirates began executing their prisoners including Jackson and their bodies were thrown to the sea. Luckily for Jackson, he survived his wounds and drowned into the depths slowly.
On the brink of death, he saw a flashing red light coming closer to him. He thought it was another sea creature or Death ready to greet him. But no, it was the Manta Sub. As it took Jackson in, the sub’s medical bay treated his wounds and revived him. It is revealed to Jackson that the original owner of the Manta Sub, Black Manta, had found peace and given up quest. He instructed the Sub to find “a new captain” since the Sub must have a captain. He took the sub back home, in secret of course, he used his wealth and time to pursue a higher education in engineering and repair the contents of the sub including the suit. Feeling guilty for the lost of his friends, he disappeared from his home along with the sub, cut off all times of money and reputation, changed his family name and got a job. He has gone to Gotham’s docks where he believes he can make something good out of himself.
- Something Is In The Water [Solo]: A shipment of human slaves makes it way to Gotham’s ports. Manta traces its destination to find that the shipment is for Killer Croc. The purpose Manta has to brave the dark to uncover. - On Dry Land [Team-up or JLU mission]: Penguin has been hatching an evil scheme for fortunes. He intends to create a synthetic storm to flood Gotham and steal all the city’s wealth while its forces are rendered flooded and disabled.
Something Is In The Water: Killer Croc, Commissioner Gordon and Black Mask.
On Dry Land: Any other Gotham hero who wants to team up, Batman, Penguin, and Firefly
@Omega Man Still got room for one more character? And if so, would it be possible to take the powers or nature of a villain (canon) and let a superhero use it. For example, a certain Dr. Freeze would have been successful in reviving his beloved and gave his arsenal of ice weapons to a do-gooder. Would that be acceptable?
@Queentze@Sho Minazuki "The Swords of Valor. Three across the board. Spells trouble." Peshawar thought to himself as he noticed the odd collection of bounties. The only time this happens is when a bandit group is being hunted. Peshawar was familiar with the systems of bounty since he has done so much back at Escain. But back at the mountainside the bounties were preferred dead than alive. I guess this would be a new challenge for him to drag his query back from he has struck him. No matter, a hunter doesn't always terminate his prey; he just tracks and executes.
"Say, where does a man like you hail from?" asked the guard. ""From Escain. Not from the cities, though." replied the hunter with his face still looking at the board. "I can tell you're not the city type. What brings you all the way out here?" the guard more curious than ever to inquire from this man who came from a great distance. He can tell that this man has hunted many throughout his years. "Instinct" Peshawar was vague in his answer. The real answer is barred of from curious minds deep inside his head. It was not mere instinct but fate.
This rebel group piqued his interest. Maybe it was the calling that visited him in his sleep that fateful day. I'll take the Dirge. Know where I can find him?" Before the guard could reply, Peshawar eye's were interrupted but a glare of light. The light was piercing through his vision, glimmering intensely. When the light retreated from his eyes, he saw a hilt from a sword. It was a beautiful hilt whose steal was fashioned so skilfully. The sword, a katana. Though he has never never seen it in person, he has only seen it in those books he read when he was in the military. A Karonese trademark.
Peshawar observed this swordsman. As he looked at the same board he was looking at. He could tell he was a fighter from the way he carried himself. He was young as well, about his early twenties or just peeking twenty. He waited patiently for this man to pick his target if ever he is going to before he pursued his own.
"You wouldn't happen to know where a hunter could find some work, would you?" Peshawar whispered softly to the guard on his left as they were inspecting a board filled with notices and flyers. The guard look over his shoulder and was caught with surprise when a man armed with a big rifle and wearing a big coat in this weather. Posture was important, it conveyed what sort of work you had and Peshawar had a robust, straight posture; as if he was trying to intimidate a bear. The guard's eyes moved towards Peshawar's rifle, hung on his back and the light from it's scope reflected into the guard's eyes. He has never seen a weapon this fine before nor has we wielded one. He wondered how he, a well-armed man with a weapon and boots, was never heard when he approached him. Like a ghost, he quietly slipped to an ear-shot beside the guard.
"Aye, for able men like you, there's always work." The guard turns around to get a clear view of this hunter. He looked rugged, as if he came back from fighting a war. His boots were covered in dirt and his coat's leather has been riddled with scars. Peshawar moved a few paces forward and towards the noticeboard, "I don't plan on staying here for long, what can you recommend for me?"
"Depends on what you're planning on hunting?" Peshawar takes a closer look at the notice board and lets his fingers pass through the sheets of paper, looking for his next prey. "Man or beast?" The guard calls out. Peshawar turns around a gives a slight smile to the guard. The ray of bright light of the morning made his presence less intimidating. It wasn't ordinary to see a man this rugged walking around in this city. "As of the moment, I'm looking for a man to hunt."
"I got just the bounty for you." The guard stepped closer to Peshawar, standing right beside him and placed his finger on a piece of paper pinned to the wall.
Name: A'nun Rex, "The Voice Of God" Gender: Male Nationality: Not known Heritage: Not known
Personality: Steadfast and immovable, this is A'nun Rex who was dubbed the Voice of God. Soldiers who have faced him in battle were greeted with a handshake and a choice to surrender. Before the Iconoclast would set about to level a whole army, A'nun believed in the voice of reason and would always offer the army facing him a chance to surrender. That is where the stern demeanor comes from. A cold person who relies on reason and logic in his approach. He rarely smiles, laughs, frowns or gives of any facial expressions; maybe that is part of his tactic to make you see that you have no chance of ever finding a weakness.
He approaches all with sincere respect as he too was once human before being granted such immense power. Those lucky enough to escape his onslaught described him as man who kept to his promises. Once, an army was offered the chance to give up their weapons and return home to their families. Half of that army was not persuaded and was decimated into ashes. The other half, by a stroke of luck, was granted leave for a short time on the basis of "avoiding inevitable death." A'nun likes to insert facts into his arguments. Now and then he would tell a platoon "You may pass by me and enter the battleground. But I guarantee you, you will suffer the same fate as the men on the other side of this field have. And let's be serious. You men are conscripts. Beggars and criminals forced to take up arms; do you really think you have a chance? The next town is North that way. You'll find the same men who accepted my offer there. I can assure you, they are quite safe. Gods never break promises." Not a second sooner the platoon dropped their weapons and ran. They saw reason and took his offer.
He gives all a chance to see the reason in his words, it us now up to them to decide. His principle? All wars can be fought and won without the need of a blade or gun. But certainly only an entity on the same level of a god can do that, right? Well, luckily for him, he is.
Backstory: There is talk of a man, a legend, that crushed armies without the need of lifting a sword. It started in a large field where two armies were about to charge into a melee. Then a shout of destructive power came from where the armies were about to clash. It was a man, clad in armor carrying a lance and a horn. He demanded that the two commanding officers shall come forth and negotiate their retreats. The man offered a chance for both armies to if they surrender and never fight for their kingdoms again.
The commanding officers did not take him seriously and ordered that the charge continue. Little did they know, that this man, was an Iconoclast. He took his horn and blew into it. The sound was so immense that the armies were pushed back by the wind.
"I am A'nun! The Herald! This is my horn--this is my voice. Let all those who continue to fight on this day, feel the wrath of God. The wrath of God's voice!" He shouted an incantation into the skies and the clouds brought about an immense storm. Hales of ice rained down, heavy winds tossed horses, the ground began to break. This was the voice of God, echoing through the battlefield. A'nun's lance pierced through all his opposition and made quick work of them.
When the battle was over, only the two to survive were the commanding officers. A'nun left them there to watch the decaying waste of their decision. They were ordered to run and spread the rumor of A'nun, the Voice of God.
A'nun carries his horn called the Heralding Call. This horn grants power to whoever uses it for a certain amount of time. It does not choose its master but it does limit the powers of those who intend to use it for malice. The horn symbolizes the coming of an "answer" that is to be found after the sound settles which is the Voice of God. The Voice of God is the ability given to a person who uses the horn. With the Voice of God, the user can bend the elements to however they want them by simply speaking his command. However, the language he speaks in now is no longer of the common tongue and is not translatable or understandable to anybody. In addition to bending the elements to the user's will, the user can also command a person's mind into doing his bidding. (This is a malicious intent so the horn discourages it.) The user can also command minor creatures of the wild and converse with them (speaking to animals is not a malicious intent but enforcing your will onto them is). The user can also cast divine spells such as summoning a group of porcelain angels from the sky to fight for you. The horn's effects fade and wear off over time, this stops when the sound--a faint, distinct sound completely vanishes from the world. This is usually up to five hours.
The Heralding Call is also an entity. After prolonged use, the user begins to hear voices in their heads which is actually the horn speaking into the conscious of the user advising them to perform logical acts that will potentially save lives. The horn's agenda is not known truly but it is known to always give a chance to all who oppose it. In the same sense, the more you resist the user's offer or continue to struggle against them, the horn grants more power to the user. The horn only offers one choice and that is surrender. It can be interpreted that the horn's true agenda is to bring the "silence and harmony" into the world after the sound of its call. So it is an instrument intended to bring peace by ending wars or just merely to suppress those who oppose it? No one knows for sure.
A'nun can bend the elements to his will and cast spells using his voice without the need of the horn since he has spoken the language so much that a piece of the horn is now inside his psyche.
An important detail to note is that the horn can't be destroyed nor can its powers be bounded. When the horn is called, nothing can stop it.
A'nun prefers not to use the horn so often since he has no need for such power unless he is facing very powerful foes or battling thousands at a time. No one knows where the horn comes from or how it got to A'nun. It must have "chosen" A'nun for a reason nobody knows why.
Another weapon in A'nun's arsenal is his lance, Heaven's Breach. It is simply a lance with the power to channel A'nun's energy into an invisible blast. It can also be used as a light source as it can gather all the light in his environment and channels them into a flash or a beacon. The light does not deal damage
@Sho Minazuki Hey sorry about that. Posting it here again for your approval. Hope I didn't cause that much of a problem :)
Name: Peshawar Age: 28 Gender: Male Nationality: Escain Heritage: Escainian
Personality: Peshawar was always known by his fellow hunters as a man in constant thought. Always viewed as a man of few words but many principles. His friends have always seen him as a man of respect and politeness. Whenever he was with a company of people, he would remain stern, quiet and immovable. He only talked when he was needed to. He kept his words simple and fast. He approached everyone with sincerity, humbleness and respect. He is a gentle soul.
He has a habit of talking to himself. Years of hunting in the wilderness of Escain, harnessing his skill, it forms a habit of talking to one’s self. Very observant and curious, he was always keeping close tabs with everything he came across: places he’s been to, paths he has taken, people he has met, food he has eaten. He comes off as weird for strangers, but he’s referred to as “eccentric” by his friends.
Despite all that, his greatest bond has always been the company he has been around. Friends were the only things he has had after the war. If he is silent, he is in a good mood. It is only when he talks a lot that tells you something is afoot.
Biography: When he was just small boy, frail and dimwitted, his father had to leave home to join the forces of Escain in the Eidolon war. His mother had already died of sickness, the only one’s taking care of him were his grandparents but they would soon succumb to old age.
Alone, he enlisted in at the age of 15 to be part of the reserve forces of the Escain army. When he stepped into boot camp his superiors noticed his ability to memorize and recite small details which made him perfect as a scout. He was assigned to a special, experimental group of soldiers that were to be trained to infiltrate behind enemy lines and assist troops. But when the war was over, they never had the chance of fighting the enemies of Escain. Instead, they were deployed as hunters and local law enforcement in the mountain sides. In his time with the Escain military, he has developed into a person of morals and principles as well form unbreakable bonds with his army brothers.
During his days of training, Peshawar grew close to his squad. He found family within this irregular unit comprised of other eccentrics such as his self. Now at 28, he is now in the mountainside plying his craft as a hunter as well as a machinist.
He has never left Escain, it felt scary leaving the land he was trained to protect. However, it felt odd to not see the land he was also trained to fight in. Regardless, Peshawar remains hidden in the trees, protecting towns from dangerous monsters.

When fired, the round emits an incredibly bright light from the barrel visible from 1 kilometer. It blinds all that sees the bullets path. It also emits a large bang when fired. The bullet travels at an incredible speed and pierces through the target, leaving a searing-hot hole in the bullet’s path. It penetrates through all kinds of material (can be stopped through magical means)
The recoil is so immense that it pushes the user back a few meters as well as possibly injure him/her.
[M15] Widowmaker – Peshawar fires a mechanical drill from Hozrizon which is attached to a steel wire which leads to a spool. The round is fired at any random surface or target, the drill ricochets off any hard surface (the floor, walls, ceilings, heavy armor) and penetrates any soft target (enemies without light or no armor, soft wood, flesh, glass and etc). The drill is controlled using Horizon and will always find a way to ricochet back into the area where enemies are densest (if there is only one the drill will keep moving it's way around the target). Once the drill has exhausted all the wire in the spool, the spool rotates rapidly thus tightening it around all the entities within caught in the wire trap. Applying such immense pressure that enemies take bleed damage and are immobilized in place. After some time the wire breaks and frees all targets affected
[M25] Showdown – Peshawar activates a device that combines the parts of all his weapons and forms them into one powerful cannon or full automatic gun. @Sho Minazuki I wanted to create a very simple gunner-type dude that had was poor in magic abilities but makes up for it with utilities. Hope it's not too much :)
@Sho Minazuki Hey sorry about that. Posting it here again for your approval. Hope I didn't cause that much of a problem :) EDIT 1: Fixed the spells, class bonus, opportunity and limit breaks EDIT 2: Redistributed my stats

The brain-child of the Escainian secret military project to train young, talented children in an unorthodox method of hunting. By combining traditional hunting techniques and improving them with guns and machines. Taught by snipers the ways of the gun and trained by machinists to utilize machines. The result would be a deadly hunter with the assistance of machines to aid their hunt.
Though not the strongest up close and personal, they are a pain in the ass when unseen and from afar.

[M10] The Dawn Breaker– Peshawar loads the Dawn Breaker round into Horizon. This is a large round that is fired from the Horizon’s secondary chamber.
Carried with both hands, the stopping power of every bullet fired from this weapon is powerful enough to pierce to through up to 5 inches of steel. The recoil and physical stress the weapon puts on its user is lethal.
The Scourage of The Mountain – Peshawar gains a Mind bonus if two or more enemies are carrying a ranged weapon or a firearm. One point of Mind bonus for each enemy.
The Mist of The Mountain – When in any biome void of any urbanization, Peshawar can remain hidden when not in combat. When combat arises, Peshawar remains hidden until he chooses to strike.
The Shadow of The Mountain – Peshawar disappears from combat and becomes hidden when he is out of sight from the opponents.
