The moment Alexander was placed in the center of the rune it felt like a huge burden had been lifted off his shoulders. Larion was still fighting the hostile presence and he still needed Alexander’s attention, but it no longer required such intense concentration.
“It’s unfortunate that Willo is the only one who prepared for this situation. However, as hunters you will have to occasionally endure such conditions.” Lazarus noted to which Willo chimed with a hum of approval. Nearly smug sounding too as she tugged out a sizable fabric out of her backpack. A sleeping bag, which she promptly laid on the floor. Lazarus in the meantime started working on the concealment rune at the entrance of the room.
“I guess I’ll be keeping watch first. Even with these camouflage runes you can never be too careful. Gather your strengths, I reckon you will need it tomorrow.” Joshua told the trainees as he stepped outside into the hallway.
Lazarus was done with the runes, which now had a dim glow to them, and began work on another rune in one of the corners of the room. This one seemed to be for himself.
