Shizuka sighed, and wiped away a stray tear. The world moved too fast for her, and in her clumsiness and obliviousness, she had helped shatter a man's heart like dropping a vase.

D: This is the sadness thing I've read in a long time. Poor Shizuka! I just want to bundle her up and cover her in flowers and sunshine and glitter!
Lilith hears the blade a millisecond before she feels the sharp tip of it pressed against her lower back and she knows she has lost again. She closes her eyes and swallows hard, trying to keep the first feelings of panic at bay, before raising her hands and holding them palm up in a classic, 'I surrender' gesture. The assassin snarls out threats, punctuating the warning with a twist of his blade and adding just a shade more pressure to show he means business. Lilith flinches at the sensation and tries her best not to shiver against the chilly night air.

"Yes, alright," she tells him, lowering her head and giving him a curt nod, still not able to see him from where he is behind her. "I understand," Lilith finishes, letting her hands drop and taking the first tentative step forward. She half expects the blow to come now but it never does, so she takes another step forward, leading them back to the main street. The pale girl turns toward the old textile warehouse, her arms crossed over her chest and chin tucked down to try and fight away the cold. They only pass one person on their tense journey and the man is too preoccupied with running towards her burning house to even give her a second glance.

Soon they've arrived and brick road has turned into a dirt one, so Lilith flexes her feet against it uneasily, small pebbles digging into the cut on the sole of her foot. The buzzing feeling of dread is back and she bites her lip to stop herself from whimpering, kicking herself for letting herself be led to her doom, like a lamb for slaughter. "Now what?" She asks the black figure, still unable to see him.
First post is up, now it's bed time for me. G'night Karos!
Naya has been traveling for the past day and a half, but there is still no sign of anything other than desert in any direction.

The sun is almost at its highest point in the sky and the heat is unbearable, so the witch takes shelter at the nearest outcropping of rocks she can find. It’s not much more than a boulder in all honesty, but it casts a blessed shade that’s just big enough for the blue eyed girl to hide away in until later on in the evening, when the heat will hopefully be less sweltering. Before she sits down, Naya kicks at the boulder with her boot clad foot and the vibrations send a night adder slithering out from its hiding spot, hissing and puffing angrily at her for daring to disturb him. “Go on,” Naya grumbles, waiting for the tiny beast to get it out of his system and move on to a less inhabited location. After a moment or two the snake deflates when he realizes she doesn’t mean him any harm and decides to retreat, winding a path through the scorching sands and leaving the outcropping blissfully reptile free.

Naya drops her satchel and pulls her green traveling cloak off, spreading it over the scalding earth before she sits down with her back against the bedrock. Had the youth realized she’d be traversing the wastelands when she had gotten dressed yesterday morning she would have donned more substantial clothing, but as it were she only wore a dress she had patched together with the left over fabric scraps. It was flimsy and small and completely useless against the unforgiving extremes. It frustrated the girl so much that if it weren’t counterproductive to her survival, Naya would have shucked the damn thing already and set it on fire.

But the brunette had no way of knowing of what lay ahead of her when she had gotten ready that morning, so she was strikingly unprepared. The only things she had in her bag were her grimoire, the strawberry jam Meng had given her after their visit, and a few yarrow stalks she’d found growing in a meadow not far from her tree. Naya hadn’t brought any water at all, since it wasn’t more than an hour walk to get to her friend’s farm, and she was beginning to feel the effects. The witch’s head was pounding to the point that it was almost blinding and her lips were chapped and raw with dehydration. At least she had grabbed her cloak on the way out, otherwise her pale skin would have burnt and blistered under this oppressive sun.

There is a rustling above her and powerful burst of wind sends her short hair flying in every direction. Naya turns to look up and strains her eyes against the sun to see that a hawk has landed on the top of the outcropping and is staring back at her, turning its great feathered head back and forth like it’s trying to figure out what to make of her. “Hello little love,” she greets, her normally soft voice rough from disuse and lack of water as she raises a brow at the curious creature. This one has been following her for the past couple of hours, which Naya thinks is odd behavior, but she can’t be sure since she hasn’t had much dealings with hawks in the past.

“Your dinner went that way,” she tells it, nodding in the direction the night adder went. The bird remains unearthly still and continues to peer down at her, so Naya turns back around to give it its peace. The witch doesn’t want to disturb the creature, since she’ll be dead in a little while if she doesn’t find water or the end of this desert, and if it keeps following her it can at least peck out her eyes for nutrition so her death won’t be a complete waste.

I put a futurama reference in that last post, because I'm a nerd. XP
"So if this Holland guy is gonna be up in your apartment, where are you going to be?"

"Erm, not sure yet. Jen has big plans for one of the new bartenders. If she has it her way, they're gonna be knocking some pretty sensual boots tonight, if you know what I mean. If I go over there she'll kill me herself," Nori tells him with a little half smile, accepting her phone when he pressed it back into her hands. She pockets her mobile before inspecting the band-aid on her pointer finger. "I was thinking about staying in that hostel outside the city. It's cheap enough that I think I could swing it," she continues, giving a little shrug of her shoulders.

"If...you don't have a place to spend the night...my door is open..." Kyle says nervously and Nori can see a blush creeping up his neck.

"Kyle Elizabeth Parker," The DJ teases, making up his middle name for dramatic effect. "Are you using me being possibly stalked by a murdering maniac to get me into bed with you? I didn't know you had it in you, cowboy," she quipped, nudging his shin with her foot and grinning so hard one of her dimples starts to pop out. The American was so adorable when he was flustered that she couldn't help but mess with him a little bit, but in all seriousness the blonde was flattered that he had offered to let her stay with him. After all, they'd only know each other for a couple of days.

"Alright," she decides after a moment of consideration. "If you're sure it's alright, I'll crash at your place tonight, but I'll sleep on the couch! Serial killers always go after the people who are doing it and I would very much like to make it out of this alive," Nori jokes, tossing Kyle a wink before leaning forward to give him a quick peck on the tip of his nose.

As Lilith waited, trying to catch her breath and listening for any sound of her purser, she lifted her foot and ran her fingers over the wound to try and better access the damage. The ginger hissed lowly, but ultimately decided that it wasn't really that bad. 'That's what I get for running through these backstreets barefoot. And in just my nightgown, no less. Father will be scandalized,' Lilith thought, huffing out a little chuckle, despite her questionable circumstances.

The chill of the winter night was almost unbearable now that she wasn't running and the young girl hand to bite the inside of her cheek hard to keep her teeth from clattering together. She began to shiver violently, running her hands up and down her upper arms to try and create her own heat. 'I'll catch my death out here if I stay like this much longer,' Lilith decides, so she pulls herself to her feet and hesitantly creeps out. It feels like it's at least a few minutes have gone by and she can hear a faint commotion from the other side of town where her house is located.

"Surely he's gone back, there are too many people out now," Lilith says quietly to reassure herself before walking back the way she came. Her step is slightly uneven, clearly favoring her left foot over her right one as she starts back towards her home and hopefully safety.
Nori and Kyle are generally off the market then, huh? But they only just met and you never know...

They're my favorite Nori ship, 100%! The only thing I can think of that would mess with them is if she finds out about Kyle's weed smoking and things don't get handled well. I mean, he's already almost stood her up (which if she ever found out that it was because he was high, she would absolutely lose her shit) and then he did have a brawl in front of her place of business. Throw in illegal activities that might get him deported and she could start to doubt everything.

But I honestly don't think that would ever come up. I mean, unless he does it in front of her or he goes out smelling like it. :P

I also don't think Amity is going to bother her much. Nori isn't a super jealous person and Kyle hasn't given her a reason to doubt him yet, so she'll believe him when he says she's just a friend. I know they'll be shenanigans involved there, but a long as it doesn't mess with her work, they'll all be fine.
spreading like... well, like fire.
