Roleplaying involves a commitment to others. And if you cannot keep that commitment I'd ask you to be honest with youself and just say so. It's by far the least painful way of leaving an rp.

Dude, srop bitching will you? Not every post needs to be a work of literary art. Posting something mediocre that advances the plot os sometimes necesarry. Or woul you rather the GM godmods your character trough the boring bits? Cause that's also an option.

Edit: Also, what's filler about your post? It shows alexander's reaction to discovering his familiar is causing his current state. If this is pointless filler to you then I advise really reconsidering your standards, because they might be a bit too high.
Let's make an actual thread first, this is just an interest check.

Also, that commander looks good, quite fits into the whole epic fantasy theme I'm going for.
I find all those to sound like good ideas. I'm in a bit of a zombieslaaying mood todaty, so let's go with the zombies. I like the semi-intelligent undead approach too. Just so the entire army doesn't collapse when someone snipes the necromancer.
In a corner of the mansion, another new arrival was waiting for the inquisitor's retinue to return. Marcus had been diispatched here to assist with whatever was going on here. His orders had been vague, but he hadn't questioned them. Doubt prepared the mind for heresy after all. He trotted into the room and loudly announced his arrival. "Marcus Agathon, here as requisitioned." He looked around. "So what is required of me now?"
Thank you! Did I really have to ask about that?
So guys, I have yet to receive instructions as to howmy character is supposed to enter the story. My character may be Alpe ved but that doesn't mean I can jyst throw him... Or can I?
Surviving the 41st millenium 101:

step 1: too late, you were disemboweled by a tyranid, that's what you get for reading when you should be busy surviving.

jokes aside, first IC post is up. Now is the time to briefly introduce your characters.
Ysera: Primary front of the ork invasion

You are stirred up from your light sleep by a bump in the road. The even humming of the chimera's engine that lulled you into a short rest is still present. You check the time, you are schedulded to arrive in the next few minutes.

There is a tension in the air, some of you might know each other as comrades, maybe even friends. Others are more rivals... or secretly even outright enemies. Don't show those thoughts to the commisar though, next thing you know he'll take your head off with a bolter pistol shot.

You reminisce briefly about what you were doing when the orks first landing came. Things had seemed so peaceful before. It had been a sunny day, a fruit tree on a nearby hill was starting to blossom. That tree would survive this invasion the base commander had decreed. For it would stand a fine symbol for the magnificent grace of the empire. You were unceremoniously shipped off to the front not soon after.
Jonathan assisted in moving the tormented man. Listening to Lazarus's explenation with growing intrigue. "The thought of being able to feel your familiar being overtaken by the plague... I shudder to even consider it." He replied. His mind wandered to linda, whom he had left to graze outside. How was she doing right now? No... He needed not worry, he could still feel her presence in his mind. As for right now, that presence was peaceful and unconcerned. The young noble could practically see his beloved horse peacefully trotting around the castle's outer walls, nibbling at vegetation and patiently waiting for her master's return.

Jonathan was stirred from his considerations by one of the newcomers. The one with a seemingly clearer mind. "Yes, We've been fighting... It was quite a skirmish, but we eventually won against the forces that haunt this castle... Today at least. Let's not get cocky, for pride breeds complacancy... And complacancy makes great men fall". Jonathan was simply qouting the books of renowned military strategists, he silently hoped the more educated of his companions wouldn't call him out on this.
The wall of the world, the great mountain range running through the entire known world. Seperating the west from the north, its high roads untamed by all but the hardiest of travellers. The only known way of passing through this obstacle is the pass of broken ambitions. An infamous place where the stories of many a conquerer, liberator or crusader has come to an end. Never has an invasion from either side made it past this place. The bones of thousands of men, orcs, goblins and all manner of other warriors litter the mountain floor, the inhospitable and sometimes seemingly actively hostile terrain makes permanent occupation all but impossible. The only people that come here are travelers and... from this dawn. Fools and their forces.

The horns of battle sound from both sides. Two forces stand at the ready. by nightfall, the winner's fate will be decided... and the carrion birds will have their feast from the losers.

Alright, some flavor text to get you into the mood. The intended scope here is about a medium-sized army numbering one, maybe two-thousand units. I will provide templates to set you on the right track.

Of course, a commander cannot lead an entire army by himself, feel free to make a command squad of sorts, just don't go overboard lest the rp is bogged down by there being too many characters.

And how pointless would officers be without an army to actually lead.
