*Name: Felt Blanchimont

*Appearance:
*Personality: Suffering from Chronic Hero Syndrome, Felt finds it very hard to ignore anyone in need of help -- including people who tried to kill him not long before. He's pretty much an all-around nice guy, optimistic and trusting to a fault. To be fair to him, he did spent most of his life in a isolated pocket universe consisting of exactly one town, one temple and a couple of Mana Lands, so it's not like anyone had ever betrayed his trust yet. Still, he can be a bit naive.
*Powers/Skills: Felt is an Alchemist. What this means in his universe is that he can destroy certain objects to reduce them to their base building blocks (mana, lowercase. The uppercase 'Mana' refers to elemental spirits instead), then use said building blocks to make something else. For example, plants would be reduced to Wood and Water mana, which can then be used to create potions and such.
In addition, he[1] can also make certain magical items like potions, providing he has the right ingredients and a base recipe to work with. Depending on what ingredients are used, the effect of the item can change, ranging from a higher damage/healing power to allowing a single-target item to hit a group. In order to be able to use mana to create an item, Felt has to go through this process first.
As for actual combat skills, Felt is pretty experienced with the Azure Azoth, a mythical weapon comparable to Excalibur in the sense that only the chosen one could pull it out of the stone, and then only when the time was right. See the Equipment bit for more details.
Eden. A world of Mana. For as long as her inhabitants can remember, peace has reigned all across the land. Given, when said land consists of little more than one village (Noir), one temple, a bunch of interconnected elemental planes for needless elemental spirits, and with the one gate leading away from Eden being sealed for so long that the only source of information about its destination is ancient scripture, peace is not hard to maintain, but still. As Felt and the others would soon found out, even in a world like that peace might not last forever...
Felt's story -- or at least the important bit thereof, begins when he's standing near the Belhyde Gate, hoping that one day it would open so that he could explore whatever was on the other side of it. Naturally, it didn't happen today, much like it didn't the last umpteenth days he was there. Just when he was about to leave, he ran into an angry Viese (his adopted sister), who quickly tells him off for breaking his promise to be at what's essentially her inauguration ceremony into full Alchemisthood. He quickly apologizes to her, asking her how he can make it up to her. The answer is to accompany her to Marmel Forest, where the Wood Mana live, so that she can make a Pact there. Not wanting to be a jerk, Felt quickly accepts this option and follows her there. Plus, he'd be able to try to pull out the Azoth, a legendary sword that's been enshrined there for Lilith knows how long. ....That, too, didn't happen today, much like it stayed right in the stone it was sealed in the last infinity-1 times he tried.
With that 'taken care of', Felt followed Viese further down Marmel Forest, to the Great Tree of Dour; the Holy Site of the Wood Mana. One ritual later, and Viese had completed her pact with the Wood Mana, Dour. All their businesses in the forest now completed, the two partners decided to return home. But then...
Suddenly, the ground started shaking, starting as a soft rumble, but eventually becoming so wild that Felt and Viese were knocked to the ground. From their somewhat lower position, the duo saw how the sky itself cracked like a piece of glass. Strangely enough, when the quake subsided, so did the crack in the sky. However, not everything had returned to normal. As they would soon found out, aboult half of Eden's landmasses had disappeared, including a shrine for the Wood Mana mere meters away from them. About the only things that had remained was the main continent. Everything else was simply... gone. Obviously, this caused a massive panic all around the surviving part of the world, and Felt and Viese decided to get back to town ASAP in order to find out about what happened.
On their way back to town, the two passed the Azoth again, still in its stone perch -- but with the red crystal glowing like nobody's business. Quite literraly being called by the sword[2], Felt tried to pull the magical blade out one last time... and actually succeeded this time. At just about the same time, the Belkhyde Gate had opened again. Much like in the legend of King Arthur, this instantly labeled him as a sort of chosen one, destined to go through the Belkhyde Gate to find out exactly what had happened. That, and he was just about the only one with any combat experience at all, so everyone else would likely get slaughtered within seconds anyway. Being the type that has a strong urge to become a hero, Felt immediately agreed with the plan. All that was left now was some preparation. After that was takan care of, Felt went through the Gate on his quest to save his homeland -- nad have some adventures in the process. Only problem, the gate didn't quite lead to where it was expected to lead...
*Equipment: Felt's weapon and main way of attacking is the Azure Azoth, a magical weapon with a mind of its own[2.2]. Sadly for said sword, it cannot in any way move on its own, instead being completely dependant on the wielder. It does grant the wielder several abilities that would be flatout impossible with a normal sword though, ranging from a (weak) medium-long-distance energy slash to a self-buff.
Aside from this, Felt also has access to a couple of magical items from the start. These include:
- Healing Herbs: A low-level healing item, modded to affect a small circle around the initial target.
- Heal Jar: A mid-tier healing item. Although this only affects one character, it heals far more than the Herbs.
- Flare: A low-level fire-elemental bomb. It doesn't do much damage, but can be thrown from a distance and does splash damage.
Felt also has an item called the Share Ring[3], one half of a pair of magical rings that allows the two wielders to share their inventory. Viese, his adopted orphan sister, has the other one. However, whatever magic has brought them to this place and prevents them from just leaving is also stopping this from working.
*Others:
[1] Technically, the game where Felt is from divides this ability between the two main characters, the other one of which is Viese. In-game, Viese is the only one who can actually make these items from ingredients, though both of them are able to create them from mana. For the sake of convenience, I'm fusing these two abilities into one character. Similiarly, I also cut out a few rules that normally come with the in-game alchemy system. If that's not acceptable though, I can still change that.
[2], [2.2] As in, the sword can speak, has its own personality et cetera.
[3] I mostly added the Share Rings because it's pretty much the most important item to Felt himself, arguably even more so than his weapon.
