training post 1

Gio thought up several combinations based on what Captain Mok showed him. It was a simple concept, one that Gio’s shikai already enabled him to do in theory. It would probably be better to perform such techniques without the aid of his shikai. The more he thought about it, the simpler it became. He was already a kido master. While his skills might not be on par with a more experienced captain he was more than capable of captain class feats. They just were not at the level of a captain. But because of how much he pushed himself, and how his ability worked anything having to do with Kido came easy to him. Hakuda on the other hand was a bit more difficult so he would probably stick with lower level skills even though he had been training for a while now.
Gio held out his hand gathering energy into it. It was a basic technique, one he would use as a foundation to learn his Captains Technique. Idly he wondered about the captains past, not that it mattered. But if the head captain was bringing people in to be captains instead of bringing people up then they were already up shits creek. Gio, of course didn’t mind outside sources, as made evident by his dealings with the Sect. He found himself curious as to if Captain Mok had any affiliation with them. It would be far too ironic if he was but Gio wasn’t inclined to ask him.

What he was inclined to do however was to go to the training area. “ a combination of Tessho and Byakurai.” He muttered to himself. The kido was lightning based, which meant it was fast unlike shakahho which could allow for more aiming. That was probably why one was traditionally shot from a finger and the other a palm. But the captain gathered the energy around his hand, so Giovanni held out his hand and tried. It took a few attempts to get a reign on gathering the energy without shooting it immediately. He had to release the energy while reigning it in. It helped to visualize his spirit energy, so that he could control and manipulate it. After about an hour he had gotten a handle on ‘holding’ the kido, so it looked like he was holding electricity. There had already been a researched concept in the corp about ‘holding’ a spell. It was one of the many useful bits of research that never got any application, until now. That in and of itself was a good thing. But it was only a step, towards something greater.
Gio took note of the 'advice' and went inside to get some food. He didnt ask anyone about the captains training, or about the hollow clean up. After all it didnt matter, the way he saw things now, he would have more time to work on bankai but less time to get to his district friends. It was an acceptable trade off in his mind so long as he wasn't stuck cooking every evening. He just had to wait for everything to smooth out into a routine again, like it always did. Then he could focus on other relevant things, and what ever the Captain wanted squad wise. This would be fun, and interesting to see how everything would turn out now that they had a captain. and more importantly that Gio didnt have to do most of the work on his own.

Mok shook his head at his guess. "Well I guess if you consider the color and kido that's blue then a lot would work, but Bakudos are more so to stop enemies or halt them. What I did would have halted an enemy for good. Its Byakurai and Tessho, both fairly common among just about everyone in the Seireitei. You may think that it was simply the force that did it, but it wasn't, what I did was slam my palm against the tree and instead of shooting it, I transferred it into the object, which resulted in them blowing up from the inside. Of course you could shoot it out but then its just a regular Byakurai."

gio simply nodded attentively. energy transferal, byakurai, tessho. it was nice, but barely impressive. Gio didnt agree with the whole 'bakudo are only for stopping and halting' but its probably because he's seen and done some interesting things with kido himself. What Gio would admit to being impressive is the captains level of control. Blending the two techniques isnt the hard part, dulling them down to such a small level of power was. "thats nice but, i have to ask. would you say you need both the kido and the hakuda to be the same level. like tessho and byakurai are common. so would a hybrid move using raikoho, be usable with tessho or would you need a higher level skill to compensate for the power?"

Mok looked at gio as he mumbled something, and went into the kitchen, which made Mok sigh as he pulled two people up and brought them into the kitchen then grabbed Gio and dragged him outside, where Mok looked at him and then held up his hand. "I suppose I can teach you something, its simple but hey its a skill none the less. So hold out your hand. Its a kido hakuda hybrid move, you might understand what it is, and no its not shunko. Mok's palm then began emitting a blue light which slowly began to cover his hand, then Mok went over to a tree and slammed his palm against it, which shatter the tree with blue light going everywhere. "So can you guess what it possibly is?"

Gio wasnt exactly fond of being man handled. once outside he simply listed and watched. as with most things kido related he payed close attention to the mans spiritual pressure. As his hand lit up in a blue light gio tried to figure it out. upon slamming it into a tree gio had a decent guess. "you said a kido hakuda hybrid move. A palm strike and a blue light. there are several ways to do similar things. its a stronger twist on a low skill move." since the tree simply shattered under the force and there was no fire or explosion of anykind he wagered a guess " im just guessing but does it involve Bakudo 8. Seki ? the blue hue and resulting force make me think of it"
With the table set and people filing in Gio felt a slight sense of accomplishment. Even without the captain saying anything the fact that he good everything was enough of a pat on the back that he could handle. Besides they finally got a captain and Gio, so far, wasnt in charge of as much an more. Sure the schedule that he worked so hard on was shot to shit but oh well, that probably wasnt a bad thing. Gio didnt say anything to the new captain. He didnt need to, he just watched as the man fell well into his role. "welcome to squad five" he mumbled to himself before returning to the kitchen. He had thought about making a cake but that probably would have been to over the top.
And its Kinda depressing that there are still people struggling with shakkaho after Gio spent about a year drilling kido. this new guy got his work cut out for him for sure.
yup, its a captains order AND a cause for celebration. besides how else was he going to show off? enjoy
"Yes Sir, I'll send the units that are already out to where they should go as well." Given that he had already trained, and went on a mission today, cooking was more of a pleasure than a punishment. so he got right to it. The now empty barrack was almost a playground to him at this point, especially the kitchen. He had everything he needed already stocked. since it would be the captains first meal with them, regardless if he graced them with his company, it would be a feast. with no one around he could break out the Kido corps secret recipes. Kido fried chicken, Glazed honey ham and Sekienton smoked turkey would cover the meats. Each speedily prepared in a way so secretive it cant be written. But it should be noted the turkey is the squad favorite. but of course there was rice, white rice and pork fried rice as well as an assortment of fresh vegetables for salads. and bread cant forget bread.

As he prepared these things he sent anyone who came back to the barracks on their way to where the captain wanted them. but he felt like something was missing from the feast. He thought back to his childhood, about the occasions where his family would celebrate with food. For the most part he had included variations of most of the foods.....PASTA. There wasa no pasta. and he would have to make his own sauce... he checked the time. Pasta was quick so he had enough time he hoped. He decided on spaghetti, simple yet satisfying and easy to make in bulk. He boiled water with a refined version of hado 31 and put the spaghetti in with some spices for flavor. now to wait for every thing to be finished
challenge accepted.

and thank you Expollo, i knew i was missing something
Gio smirked "so thats what its going to be. " he wouldnt allow himself to be goaded into the trust argument. especially right after the most recent betrayal. "the training and patroll schedule will be in your new office a long with a roster for each. Do with them as you will, any questions, concerns or criticisms may be directed towards me. now if you would be so kind as to give us your name, and our first orders, if any, we can get back to business" the man never did actually give his name, only his new position. If he only wanted to go by Captain that was all well and good as well. Gio on the other hand had finished his evaluation of the captain. Blunt but not indifferent. strong with trust issues, and a cynical personality covered by a smug facade. whether or not that was completely accurate wasnt relevant, that was his first impression and you only make those once.
