the captain Couldn't be serious. didn't he...oh wait he didnt know about Gio's senses. At least that seemed to be the case given this ridiculous idea. Gio's senses have always been extremely sensitive, it was why he was so good at Kido. Gio leaned out of the way and flash stepped toward sogyoku hill. The base of it anyway. He thought about it as he moved and kept his senses sharp. he wasnt just sensing for bullets, he was sensing for the captain. He had a bit of a skeptic idea about this training. But he played along for now.
Once back at the barracks she noticed the difference in the atmosphere. It was somber, and intense. With her arm in a sling she sat down to write her report but was chastised for not training instead. Apparently a captain had died and the head captain wanted everyone training super hard. That made sense but Sinai was still going to write her report and get properly healed before she even looked at a training room. So once and only once she was finished and healed did she seek out, for the first time, her captain. guess what he wasnt there, apparently she had just missed him. go figure! So she sat down and wrote out a full report or both her captain and the captain of squad 10. the one she sent previously was pretty well written but this one would contain the details about finding the remaining two children. With that written she left one report on her captains desk and went to squad ten in hopes of delivering the report to the captain.
Shit

something inside of Gio regretted asking, but there was a well of anticipation as well. So he turned and went outside to wait. hopefully it would be some form of training or even a mission, but that devilish grin had Gio starting to think about what he'd be cooking for dinner for some reason. He knew nothing about the captain so he really had no idea but to wait. That being said he wouldn't let himself be stressed out by a bit of anticipation. He leaned against a tree quietly, scratching his head a he waited. definitely should have stayed on break
Gio returned to his Barracks with a few things on his mind. regardless of the things he wanted to do he went to captain Mok, simply to let him know he had cut his time short. "captain, sorry to bother you. In light of recent events I came back. If there is anything you need me to do. please let me know" he really wanted to take a team out and practice some of the Kido that he learned but now was a time for solidarity. First and foremost he was fall behind his captain, regardless of his new position. hopefully the man actually had something for him to do.
Sinai and Alucard spent the rest of the night in the town. One of the towns folk tended to her wounds and gave her a sling. In the morning she wrote a rather detailed account to Haruka for Alucard to bring to her and sent him on his way to her. Once Alucard was on his way Sinai went her own way. She knew where the children likely were, human trafficking wasn’t an uncommon market but selling children tended to be a more low key, few and far between, kind of deal. She should know, she was bought and sold as a child, as were others in her clan. She just had to track down a broker, so she went to find hers.

Hours later she was sitting across from the man that had Sold her as a child, Eliot. It was a strange feeling everytime she saw the man. She wasn’t angry with him, he simply had a job and did it well. Her birth parents on the other hand that had sold her, she was pretty pissed at them. “I’m looking for two kids, boy and a girl. From Eastwood.” Sinai got right to the point

Eliot nodded “I don’t do eastwood sweatheart. They actually like their children”
“they aren’t the ones who sold them. Bandits kidnapped and sold them. Only two about a week ago”
“I don’t deal with hot merchandice swe-“
“call me sweatheart again and next thing down your throat will be this table” Sinai threatened him coldly.
“noted. But I haven’t gotten any from Eastwood or anywhere around there.”
“but you know who would”
“new kid in the business, takes what he can get, still green behind the ears.”
“where can I find him?”
“now now you know the rules. Third street tavern. “
“yea yea. He clearly doesn’t” Sinai Got up and walked out.

The rules of this lucrative business were relatively simple. Unless your willing to die you don’t sell unwillings. Most children tend to be unwilling so this is circumvented via parental or guardian consent. The few that deal in children have their methods of authenticating guardianship. Its never a quick transaction. Depending on the area’s souls are soul for various reasons ranging from poverty to procreation. Sinai was sold because her parents needed money, and subsequently bought because the clan needed children to train. In the outer districts it gets a bit more raunchy and savage so its best not to think about them. Here the rules were clear, so when Sinai kicked down a door with her arm in the sling people didn’t really ask questions. It also helped that it was clear she was a shinigami.

The boy in question was a young man, rather well dressed in rather familiar looking clothes with a glass in hand. Sitting at the back table surrounded by several men and women. Everyone stared at Sinai as she walked straight to the table. “you the one everyone calls the rookie”

“I assure you that name wont stick for much longer swe-“ before he could finish the word her foot was on his throat. One of the men tried to get up but she back fisted him with her good arm and he flipped over the chair. No one else dared to move.
“now you’ve illegally obtained two children. “
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”
Sinai presses her foot harder against his throat “a boy and a girl from the eastwood area. Received as a payment for a dept. along with this robe I would imagine since ive seen dozens like it there”
“you can’t prove that.”
“oh but I can. Or I can tear you down before you even get your foot in the door. There are rules in this business and those who don’t play by them are short lived. You’re going to fork over those to kids now. Or you’re going to be a laughing stock even after your death. “ she pushed even harder, completely blocking his airway “so what’s it going to be. Either way I leave with the children. “
The young man tried to nod but of course Sinai’s foot being on his trachea made that kind of difficult. She eased up a bit. He waved his hand and someone ran off. Presumably to get them. “if you cross me” she warned him “I’ll be sure your throat is the last thing I crush before you die” she removed her feet completely
“just who the hell are you lady?”
“your worst nightmare If you don’t shut the fuck up” she silenced him and he never spoke a word again to her. Once the children arrived she verified they were the ones she was looking for by having them describe Eastwood and the people there and then they left and went back.

Sinai walked them only to the town border and watched them from a distance as they rejoined there families. Hopefully squad 10 would have more a presence around these parts to keep more instances like this from happening. But for now she made her way back to the Seireitei.
Finding her way out of the cave In her condition was a feat all by itself and by the time she made it back to the town the childen had made it back safely under Alucards protection. That was one amazing dog thing. The leader of the town stopped her at the gate “my son was not with them. And another is missing as well. What is the meaning of this?”

Sinai wanted to tell the man that he should be happy any of them are alive, but she promised haruka she would be nice. “they were sold. About a week ago” she explained to him quietly. Honestly she wondered how many of these children were missing a parent because of the sacrificing. “The traveler you spoke of… put on a mask and became your Evil one. He used you, and your people as a gold mine.” She clutched her shoulder “so before I go in search of your child I need you to be straight with me”
The man nodded seriously before Sinai continued “a quarter mile out there is a bloody scene that we found… what happened there?”
“two parents went out against the…bandits.”
“their bodies?”
“buried”
“Alucard!” Sinai called out to the dog and he came obediently of course “I am going to need you to go back to your owner with a message in the morning. She should know whats happened” she looked up at the leader “can we stay the rest of the night?”
“yes.” She could tell he wanted her to continue and find his child. That was understandable but she was in no condition to do anything.
“where are the bandits?”
“storehouse”
“I’ll put that in the message”
After the revelation of her opponants superior strength Sinai had a choice to make. It was clear that only one of them would be walking out of the cave alive, and she wanted it to be her. Sure she could have drawn her zanpakuto but that would have been to her detriment. She was barely hanging on in a hand to hand confrontation and that was her strongest method of combat. She was on the defensive and she had lost her element of surprise.
He only used his hands, she had already noticed that much, but he used them so well he didn’t need to pick his feet up. His feet compensated in his speed. Laterally he was fast, but maneuvering, like she was making him do now, proved to be more of a struggle for him. Again he charged at her but this time she charged back. She ducked at the last minutes, sweeping his feet from underneath him and causing him to fall. She quickly flipped intent to land an axe kick on his head and…she did. It even cratered the stone. But she grabbed her leg and threw her across the room like it was nothing. She flipped and landed on the wall only to have to shunpo out of the way.
Once Sinai had steeled her resolve she began to glow, exerting her spiritual pressure. As usual it took the form of butterfly wings behind her. She didn’t step back this time when he charged, instead she waited to step forward, dodging his fist and slamming her fist into his face. The impact staggered him and she put all her weight into her next punch, aimed at his knee. The man howled in pain only for a second before her foot connected with his jaw, launching him off his feet. She lept into the air and came down with a left punch but he caught it and pulled her into a headbutt. She bent her neck out of the way so his head connected with her shoulder, damaging it pretty bad and he had a vice grip on her arm. With her right arm in one quick move she slammed her fist into his hurt leg. It hurt him enough to let her go and she shunpo’d away. Her left arm was out of commission for now as it hung limp, but his leg was through as well.
“where are the other children?” Sinai asked one more time as her hand began to glow again
“gone. I sold their obstinate asses to pay of some debt”
“sold them to who and when?”
“last week, a boy and a girl. “
“who did you sell them too?”
“That look in your eye girl, you already know”
Without another word they charged each other. Sinai’s Butterfly Dragon fang was as close to perfection as she had ever been. Her fist struck right above his heart sending her energy through him without moving him. The force shattered his ribs and stopped his heart cold. As he fell to his knees he looked at her. Not in wonder, not in shock but with eyes that seemed to see right through her. Then he fell
I'm hanging in there
Sinai’s remaining 8 butterflies fluttered around her now before floating to the cages that held the children. “shift” Sinai whispered cause two more butterflies to explode. This time the explosion was much smaller, strong enough to break the locks on the cages to free the children.
“NO!” the Evil One Yelled reaching for and attempting to through a chair but a small cero from the darkness destroyed it and knocked him back.
“children, meet Alucard, he is going to bring you home.”
Growling the dog stepped out of the shadows just like Sinai had, which gave him a much more menacing appearance than he really had. Sinai stepped forward, completely out of the shadows toward the man with a slightly glowing aura Quickly the children piled out of the room following Alucard while Sinai cracked her knuckles.

Suddenly the man was infront of her, he was fast, very fast, swinging a left hay maker. Sinai brought her right arm up to block but the force shook her. He was strong too. His right jab was an obvious follow up so she parried it with an inward-to-outward block. Now that she was under his guard she slid her right foot slightly forward and sung a heavy punch to his chest. Had she aimed for his face he would have been able to dodge it but this close his chest was a sure hit. The hit connected with a surge of energy that send the man flying back with a violet light. Normally her Butterfly Dragon Fang technique needed a bit more time to prepare but all things considered it was an effective attack. At least that’s what she thought at first.
But the man got back up. “not bad. Little girl. But let me show you a mans punch.” He charged her with a flurry of punches that each had a ton of bricks behind them. Her small size gave her an evasive advantage that she tried to exploit but he managed to catch her in the stomach. The force was enough to knock her off her feet. She held her stomach tightly as she forced herself back to her feet.
“where are the other children?”she asked to buy some time but he didn’t answer. He came at her again. She took a step back and raised her arms in preparation. He cocked back his right arm and shot out jab that shattered the stone behind her. Sinai had ducked, entirely out of the way. That punch would have killed her, this was life or death. And if she wanted to win, she would have to kill.
The 5 In Sinai and Alucards way were caught off guard. The most recent arrival wnt back to chck on the boss as one explosion had went off in there. Sinai Shunpo’d into the center of the four of the bandits that were still disoriented from the blast. The First strike she made was to a womans throat, kept the noise level down, second was a kick to a mans jewels, kept the noise down. Alucard Jumped on one that was about to attack Sinai giving her enough time punch the last one into the stone wall. The loud thump didn’t even shake the cave but her follow up round house kick laid him out cold. With Tessho to the one Alucard was occupying Sinai had two down and two to go. The woman barely caught her breath yet before Sinai back fisted her out of consciousness. The last man laid on the floor in agony. She almost didn’t have the heat to deal with him so she but him in a sleep hold and moved on.

Sinai moved quickly forward in the darkness. She could hear voices, loud voices and scared voices. There were children up ahead. She readied two more concussive Shift constructs as she went. Her body was alive with adrenaline as if she missed the days when this was normal. Her blood was hot with anticipation yet sour because she had yet to kill anyone. She didn’t want to kill anyone tonight, they all should answer for their crimes. That’s what she told herself as she went on. She moved towards the light, and when it was blocked by a large figure she threw her two ‘shifts’ at it and the force knocked the man clear across the room into the wall of the cave.
Sinai stepped out of the darkness like a demon on the hunt, half covered in the darkest shadows. Her pray was frozen in the middle of the room, as the everything went quiet. Even the children silenced themselves at her appearance from the dark. Alucard did not yet appear.
