Steffan just couldn't believe what was happening. He returned to his Kingdom with promises of destroying any Dark Creature that threatened the safety of his people and the first one was within his own bedchaimbers. What she could do? Chain her and burn her? Perhaps he could do that....but would it be the wise choice? And most importantly...could he do it?

In the end, he took his choice.

"Please...don't cry..." the King said as he took her outreached hand "I cannot stand seen you crying." He knew he might seem weak at that moment, but Irena was not a sacrifice he was willing to make.
Steffan stood up from their bed, a thoughtful look on his features. Of course this was not a joke, Irena was not a liar, especially when it was about something serious as that. He ran a hand through his auburn hair. He returned with rumors of the Beast that terrorized hie people to find out that he married the said beast.

"The people...of the other village. Did you kill them Irena?" he calmly asked.
"Irena...you don't..." Steffan was absolutely dumbfounded by this revelation, to the point that he couldn't believe the words that came out of his Queen's mouth. Could she really be what she said...a dragon. A winged monster that feasted in human flesh?

"this cannot be...it must be a joke. A jape you invented to amuse me is it not?" he said with last bits of hope.
Steffan just couldn't understand what was happening now. The one moment they were talking about Dragons, and now...she was crying? When she spoke about the incident with the Witch, his heart was overtaken by anger, thinking that the evil magic user was responsible for his wife's pain. And he wasn't really far off......

"What did she do...?" he asked Irena as he took her into his loving embrace, kissing the top of her golden hair "I swear I will kill that daughter of the devil if she dared to hurt you."
Steffan cocked an eyebrow at her question, obviously being the last thing he expected. Perhaps his wife found time to go through tge various books concerning Monsters and Creatures during his long absence.

"Dragons...? Well, they are huge and strong creatures my love. The span of their wings can cover a whole two, while their fire-breath is capable of burning entire armies into nothing..." he said as he caressed her blonde hesd "But it is those gifts that make them mostly dangerous. They are mindless monsters, animals, bend only to their instincts of death and destruction."
Steffan nearly protested when she broke the kiss, but the proclamation of her love made for it in advance. He then moved down on her neck, trailing her soft flesh with kisses whike she looked away.

When she led him to bed, talking about 'so much to tell him', he was caught by surprised. What else coukd a Queen doing except of sewing with her handmaidens, or trying new expensive dresses? Could it be something to do with the rumours he heard...?

"Then tell me my love..." the King said joining her on the bed "I am all ears, for you."
Steffan was thankful to parially take heed to Helgas instructions. Before arriving in his chambers, he had a young squire strip him of his armor, not wishing the feel of cold metal being the first thing his wife touched after all this time of seperation.

"As my Queen commands..." The King inquired as he lifted her cheek with his finger, gazing into her eyes for a moment before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss, pouring all the love she missed these weeks into it.
After his business with Helga was swiftly concluded, Steffan turned on his heels and headed for the opposite direction, hobbling up the stairs to reach his chambers.

He didn't even needed to knock, since tgese were his own rooms. And as he entered, he took in the sight of Irena, the Queen of his Kingdom...his Queen.

"By the Gods..." Steffan said in awe "It seems that a forest nymph made her way into my chamber. Tell me, are you here to bless me with your beauty?"
Steffan hopped of his horse for the stable boy to take the reins , his own hand resting on the pommel of his polished sword. A few days ago this blade bathed in the blood of trolls, ogres and a multitude of dark creatures.

"Thank you for your concern Helga..." he said to the maid with a tired smile, yet managing to stand regal in his armor "But I will not be visiting my private chambers tonight. I wish to see the Queen." And everyone in the Kingdom knew that the Kings word was an order on its own.
The crown upon his head shone resplendently alonhside his majestic armor, even in the high moon of the night. His white destrier trotted gently through the brick streets as King Steffan rode towards the Castle with his retainer of Knights and the Royal Guard. And the small folk showed a heated and respectful support for the new king, cheeringand blessing his Majesty's name while filling the torch litted streets as he rode by, waving the royal hand all the same.

Steffan traveled to the badlands to extinguish tge darkness and evil, achieve something that no other King ever dared and place his name amongst legends. But when he heard of flying creatures devouring people and cuttle while witches set villages on fire, he coukd only turn back as a hurricane before the forces of evil devour his own Kingdom from its heart. Yet the need to see Ilena-his sweet and beautiful Queen- reigned over any of his troubles...

And thus the villagers cheered on, their cheers even echoing across the walls of the castle.

"All Hail King Steffan!!!"
