Thought I was gonna have a post up tonight and then I forgot to email the stuff I did during work today

Hey, it happens. No worries, lol

The Next Morning

Scott and Alexa had spent a restless night keeping watch over Seline and Sophie. The girls had been terrified of what this man, Etoile would do to them should he find him, and they were convinced that no matter where they went, they would never be able to get out of his reach. Although both Scott and Alexa were more than confident that they could handle this monster and his minions, they took extra precautions in order to assure the sisters that they were safe. Scott had offered to stay awake and keep watch in order to ensure that no harm would come to the girls. Though he honestly believed that the danger had passed, at least momentarily, he was happy to do whatever he could in order to give the two sisters peace of mind. Alexa had agreed with this line of thought, and offered to take the second watch.
And as they had expected, the rest of the night had been uneventful.
Alexa sat on the lush couch in the living room of the hotel suite, looking out the big picture window that overlooked the city. She watched as the sun rose over Paris, the Eiffel Tower casting a long shadow in its wake. She was somewhat mesmerized by the view, and was slightly startled when Scott appeared next to her, offering her a cup of coffee.

“Morning.” He said to her with a boyish grin.

“Morning.” She repeated as she took the coffee from him, then taking a long sip from the cup. After a moment she looked back to Scott and asked, “So, what do we do now?”

“I don't know. We have to do something. We can't just send them on their way, Etoile will find them, and we know what will happen then.” Scott said darkly.

“Right.” Alexa said with a pause. “Well, we have another problem.”

“What's that?” Scott asked.

“I'm starving, and we have no food.” Alexa said with a smirk.

“Yeah, that's a problem.” Scott agreed jokingly. “Why don't I run to the bakery and get some pastries for breakfast, then we can figure out our next move.” Scott said slightly more serious.

“Yeah, that's a good idea.” Alexa concurred.

“Yeah, I'll be back in a little bit. Stay out of trouble.” Scott said. He then bent down and kissed Alexa on the top of her head, before retreating back into the bedroom to gather his wallet and keys, and then left the hotel suite.

Twenty Minutes Later...

The smell of coffee wafted throughout the spacious suite, filling ever corner with its delightful aroma. The pleasant odor was enough to stir Seline and Sophie from their restless slumbers and draw them to the kitchen, where they found Alexa brewing a fresh pot. Sophie entered the kitchen first, with her older sister following close behind. Sophie approached the counter where Alexa stood and reached for a box of danishes, and when she realized it was empty tossed it aside.

“Morning.” Alexa said to the girls as she poured them each a cup of coffee. “I don't know how you like it, sugar's in the cabinet over the stove, creamer's in the fridge.”

“Where's Scott?” Seline asked after taking a drink of her coffee.

“He went to get breakfast. He should be back soon.” Alexa told him.

“Good, I'm starving.” Sophie chimed in as she loaded her coffee with more sugar than Alexa had ever seen anyone put into anything...ever.

“Hey, slow down there. You're one sugar cube away from a foot amputation.” Alexa joked before taking a sip from her second coffee of the morning.

No sooner had Sophie taken a sip of her sugary concoction and there was a knock on the door. Alexa stepped away from the counter and made her way to the suite's front door. Sophie and Seline both looked uneasy, but Alexa smiled to reassure them.

“Scott must have forgot his key.” She said with a smirk as she opened the door. However, much to her surprise, it was not Scott who greeted her on the other side of the door. Instead it was a man that she had not seen before, a man with sharp features and a slight beard. The man looked completely normal save for his eyes, which were almost otherworldly. Large silver eyes with a thin black line which encircled where his pupils should have been. Alexa wasn't able to say anything before the man and his thugs forced their way into the hotel suite and backed her and the girls into a corner.

“Prends les.” He said as he motioned to his minions to take the girls.

“Back off.” Alexa ordered the men as a small current of electricity began to bounce between her fingers. She didn't know anything about the Etoile or his men, and she really didn't care. She and Scott had taken it upon themselves to protect the sisters, and that was exactly what Alexa planned to do. However, as she was preparing to strike, she heard the sounds of little feet running down the hallway of the hotel, and she remembered where she was. She knew that this hotel was full of vacationers and she was suddenly aware of the cost of a public confrontation with these monsters. She knew that these men did not care who got hurt, so long as they got what they wanted. So she relented.

“It'll be okay.” She whispered to Sophie and Seline. Wherever Etoile was taking them, he would be taking her as well, and she knew that the girls would be safer if she was with them.

Scott returned to the suite as promised with a box of fresh pastries from a small bakery just down the street that he had seen while he had been exploring the city on his own. When he slid his key card into the lock and opened the door, he was surprised by how quiet it was.

“Babe?” He called as he stepped inside the suite, and as he had suspected, it was empty. He first went back into the kitchen and placed the box of baked goods down on the counter, which is when he noticed the practically full cup of coffee sitting there, nearly untouched. Something was wrong, that much was clear, but what had happened was a mystery.

Then, his phone began to ring. He pulled the phone out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID. When he saw that it was Alexa calling, a wave of relief washed over him.

“Hey Babe, where'd you go?” Scott asked as he answered the phone.

“Hello 'Babe.'” A stranger's voice, a man's voice replied.

“Etoile.” Scott replied, his tone growing darker. “If you-”

“You will bring me what I want, or I will kill them all. Then I will come for you.” Etoile cut him off.

“If you've hurt them...” Scott began.

“I assure you, they are fine. For now. However, that may change at any moment, depending on you.”

“Let me talk to Alexa, I want to know that she's alright.” Scott ordered.

“You're in no position to be making demands. Bring me the Divinity Shard, and they might make it out of this alive.” Etoile told him. “5350 Rue de Saint-Simon. If you do not bring me what I want, I will kill them all. Beginning with your Alexa.”

“Etoile-” Scott began before being cut off again.

“You have two hours. Do not be late.” Etoile said before ending the call.

Scott stood alone in the hotel suite staring at the phone in his hand, unable to believe what had just happened. He blamed himself for the predicament that he found himself in.

I never should have left them. He thought to himself as he put the phone back in his pocket and began to make his way into the bedroom. He knew Alexa, and was sure that she was more than capable of handling Etoile on her own. However, he also knew that she must have had her reasons for allowing herself to be taken. It must have been the only way. In the bedroom, Scott went into the closet and began going through his bags, until he came to the one that he was looking for, a simple nondescript black suitcase. However, when he opened it, there was nothing ordinary about the contents. The familiar blue and silver uniform of Icon.

“I guess there are perks to flying on a private jet after all.” He said to himself as he took the uniform from the case.

Etoile had made a grave mistake. He had underestimated Scott and Alexa. His overconfidence had caused him to tell Scott exactly where to find him, and when he will be there. However, Scott was not going to wait the two hours that Etoile had given him, he was going to go to the address now. And unfortunately for Etoile, it wouldn't be just some random American tourist who showed up on his doorstep, but one of the most recognizable people on the planet.

Icon soared through the skies above Paris toward the address that Etoile had given him. It didn't take him long to find where Etoile had been hiding. It was an upscale art gallery inside a large windowless brick building. The sign that hung from the doorway read Galerie de Lumière. Icon circled above the building for several moments, in order to get an idea of what he was walking into. Although both he and Alexa were more than capable of taking care of themselves, Seline and Sophie were both in real danger. As he flew above the building he closed his eyes and concentrated. He tapped into his ability to use echolocation, an ability that his little sister Jenny had dubbed his “Radar Sense” to locate just where the girls are being held.

He almost immediately had a hit.

Within the building he was able to pinpoint a large spacious area. There were numerous objects in the cavernous room, and he could sense that there were several objects inside huddled together, which were different than some of the other objects. They gave off a different frequency than the other, harder objects which Icon had assumed were works of art, sculptures and statues and the like. These objects were organic, and they seemed to move slightly.

They were human.

“Got you.” Icon said to himself with a grin as he altered his course, quickly descending toward the building.

Inside the art gallery, Alexa found herself bound to a chair in the corner of a large open room. Both Sophie and Seline were there with her, bound in a similar fashion while the criminal Etoile and his men stood guard. The walls of the building were covered with some of the finest art outside of The Louvre. There were a number of paintings that she had recognized, though, there was something odd about them. Many of the paintings had been thought lost to history. She immediately recognized famous works such as “Man with a Pipe” and “The Just Judges,” however, they were mixed in with a number less famous pieces.

However, Alexa was less concerned with the paintings than she was with getting out of the predicament she had found herself in. As Etoile conversed with his thugs, Alexa was working on getting out of her bonds. While her captors were not looking, Alexa had been using a small, barely noticeable electrical discharge to “cut” away at the rope bound her. It was a tedious process, however, it was her best option at the moment to ensure the safety of the sisters. She just needed a bit of patience, and with any luck, a bit of a distraction and she would be able to get free and get the girls to safety.

She didn't have to wait long.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash, and an explosion of brick and mortar that filled the room with dust and debris. There was an almost otherworldly silence in the room as the shock of the sudden impact, and as the dust began to settle, the familiar form of a blue and silver clad hero stood amongst the destruction.

“You boys really screwed up, you know that?” Alexa taunted as she freed herself from her bindings.

The room then exploded in red and green flashes of light as Etoile and his men sent deadly mystical energies toward Icon. The streams of magical energy hit Icon square in the chest, neck, and torso. However, much to the surprise of Etoile and the others, the mystical bombardment had little effect on the hero.

“Ouch.” Icon said as he brushed off the assault and continued toward the men.

Now free from her restraints, Alexa walked up behind one of Etoile's men, who was distracted by the sight of Icon approaching him. He was so distracted, that he never detected Alexa making her way toward him. The man was so startled by her sudden appearance, that he jumped and let out an audible cry when she put her hand on his shoulder. When Alexa touched the man, she released an electrical discharge that stunned the man, knocking him to his knees. Then a second jolt of electricity rendered the man unconscious.

“Stay down, Jackass.” She said as she stepped away from the man, and went over to release Seline and Sophie from their bonds.

Etoile took a step back as he saw Icon continue to advance on him, and with a wave of his hand, a strange white light engulfed his two remaining henchmen. The two men then began to writhe in pain as their bodies began to twist and writhe, the sounds of bones breaking and joints popping filled the room as the men began to grow in size, their bodies taking on new, monstrous forms. Etoile's men had been transformed from two unassuming men to a pair of massive gargoyle like beings. Large, stone-like wings grew from their backs. Their faces were twisted and deformed, until they wore a dragon-like visage with gaping maws full of razor sharp teeth.

”Well, that's new.” Icon said shaking his head in disbelief. He then launched himself at the first of the creatures, connecting to its jaw with his fist.

Icon laid into the first creature, hitting it with a series of punishing punches that knocked the beast down to a knee. However, before he could hit it with a finishing blow, the second creature was on him, wrapping him up in its massive arms and squeezing with everything that it had. Icon grabbed the monster's wrists and began pulling them apart, in an effort to get free from its grasp. Just as he was about to pull himself free, the other creature pounced. It struck at Icon with its blade-like claws and gnashing teeth. The sudden attack kept the hero off balance, forcing him back. However, Icon rebounded, hitting the attacking monstrosity with a hard right hand which glowed with a blue-green energy that crackled when it connected with the side of the beast's head. A second such strike rocked the beast, sending it again to its knees. Then Icon clasped his hands together and struck the beast again, hitting the beast with the back of his fist with a powerful ax-handle strike which fell the beast. As the beast lay still, it began to transform again, this time back into the form of a human.

Icon didn't have time to revel in this small victory, as the second beast charged him, grabbing him by the throat and driving him through a support beam. Without relenting on its grip, the beast then ran through the gallery at a full sprint and threw Icon through the wall. The hero landed in a pile of bricks on the concrete sidewalk outside of the building. The sudden emergence of the hero, as well as the gargoyle-like monster that had attacked him sent the numerous residents and tourists alike, scattering away from the scene of the disturbance.

Icon immediately got to his feet, and almost as fast, he again left them, as he drove his shoulder hard into the beast's midsection, sending it crashing back into the gallery. Icon moved around the creature at a great rate of speed, peppering the beast with a vast array of punches and blows which staggered the creature.

“Cela ne fera pas, cela ne fera pas du tout.” Etoile said to himself as his monster minion fell, crashing to the floor. It had barely begun to return to its human form when Etoile made a circular motion with his right hand, opening a portal in which he stepped through, before closing it again.

Several minutes had passed before the Parisian police force had arrived on the scene of the disturbance and quickly set out to secure the scene. An officer was taking a statement from Alexa, who was telling the officer everything that he needed to know, when Icon approached them.

“Excuse me.” Icon said to the officer. “Miss Winstone, I just wanted to make sure you were alright. I'm sure that this must have been...quite the ordeal.”

Alexa just laughed.

“Listen Big Guy, living in Lost Haven, this is just a Tuesday.” She told him.

“I guess you're right. Well, have a good day, miss. Icon said before taking to the skies, leaving the bystanders in awe as he flew out of sight.

Scott and Alexa stood in front of the Le Grande Peninsula Hotel with Sophie and Seline as they said their goodbyes. The two sisters had expressed their gratitude for everything that Scott and Alexa had done for them, as well as remorse that they would never be able to repay the debt. Alexa and Scott had dismissed that talk as nonsense, and let the girls know that they would gladly do it again.

“If you ever need anything, you know how to reach us.” Alexa told Seline.

“Anything at all.” Scott reiterated.

“We should probably get going. We have a lot to do.” Seline said. “We still have to bury our family.” She said with a deep sadness that hadn't been there before, almost as if the weight of what had happened, and how their lives had been changed was finally just hitting them. Seline leaned into Scott and gave him a long hug, and then embraced Alexa.

Sophie then followed suit. After they said their goodbyes, Sophie and Seline left Scott and Alexa standing there in front of the hotel as they walked away down the street, until finally, they had disappeared from view completely. Scott and Alexa just stood there for several more moments in silence, looking in the general direction that their new friends had gone, until Scott finally broke the silence.

“You think they're going to be okay?” He asked.

“Yeah, I think so. They're strong, I think they'll be just fine.” Alexa answered.

“You're paying for the funerals, aren't you?”

“Yep.” Alexa confirmed. “And Scott...”

“Yes?” He answered.

“If you ever call me 'Miss' again, I'm gonna kick your ass.” She said with a hint of laughter in her voice.

“I understand, miss.” He replied with a teasing laugh of his own.

“That's enough out of you. We should get upstairs, you have a lot of packing to do. We leave for Skopelos first thing.”

Alright guys, knock it off.

Ded, I see what you're saying, but she clearly wasn't using that bit of the folklore in the post, and where this is more or less a PG-13ish setting, I wouldn't expect that to be a part of it.

Trix, I'm sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable to the point of having to change the post.

Let's have some common sense guys, I don't want to see something like this happen again, either here or in the Discord.

Odette isn't gonna have sex with a satyr you-you weirdo...!

Are any of us really surprised by the way this conversation went, and who it came from? I know I'm not...

Danvers, Massachusetts-Before it all started

Scott Hunter walked among the tombstones of the Ocean View Cemetery. Though he had only been here a hand full of times, he could almost find his destination with his eyes closed. Although he had grown up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, his parents had lived on the North Shore of Boston before relocating to the country for work, as well as a better environment to raise their family. However, after his father's death, his mother had sold the home that Scott and his siblings had grown up in, and moved back to the North Shore where she was closer to friends and family who could help the newly widowed woman as she acclimated to her new circumstances.

As Scott walked among the tombstones, his mind drifted back in time. He thought about how his relationship with his father had been strained over the years. Scott hadn't been the easiest child to raise, he was head strong and rebellious, and with the abilities that had begun to manifest after puberty, raising him was an absolute nightmare. It was because of this, that he blamed himself for his father's death. It was the stress of raising a freak, a monster like him, as well as the pressure to keep the secret of his true origins and abilities a secret that proved to much for Jacob Hunter. As far as Scott could tell, it was this pressure that caused the aneurysm which had claimed his life.

His brother Brandon had made it his life's mission to make sure that Scott knew that their father's death was all his fault. Brandon was a bitter boy who's cruelty had known no bounds. When Scott was a child, Brandon took great pleasure in the abuse that he subjected his younger brother to. To Brandon, Scott was not really his brother, he was an outsider who had been dropped off on the family doorstep one night, and never left. Once Scott's abilities began to manifest, and it became clear to Brandon that he would no longer be able to physically intimidate the younger boy, he resorted to psychological warfare. Brandon taunted and teased Scott mercilessly. He humiliated the younger boy constantly, taking great joy in doing so, particularly when he had an audience.

However, that changed shortly after their father died. In the weeks and months after Jacob's death, and amid the family's relocation to the Boston area, Brandon began to look out after not only the youngest sibling, Jenny, but Scott as well. They had managed to survive the death of their patriarch and a life altering relocation from all that was familiar, and they had become stronger for it.

Though, it was short lived.

As Scott got closer to his destination, he quickly came out of the fog that had enveloped his mind. He followed the narrow pathway between the rows of headstones for several hundred yards until he came to his final destination, a particular tombstone.

Jacob Joseph Hunter, Loving Husband, father.

“Hi Dad, it's been awhile.” Scott said as he approached the grave marker, unsure of exactly what to say. He then sat down on the lush green grass in front of the stone. “It's been rough lately. We've all been having a hard time. When we lost you, it was like out entire world fell apart. None of us knew what to do, but we did our best.” He said, his voice straining slightly.

“I know that you had a hard time bringing me up, especially when we found out that I wasn't...normal. But you gave it your all, even though I wasn't blood. But He looked away from his father's grave for a moment to another marker, inhaled, and then exhaled deeply before returning his gaze to his father's tombstone.

“But now it's time for me to move on.” Scott said, tears beginning to form in the corner of his eyes. “After what happened, I can't stay.” He continued as he looked over to the other grave stone again, and looked remorsefully at the inscription.

Brandon James Hunter, Beloved Son, Brother.

For an instant, he could almost hear the sounds of smashing glass and twisting steel replaying in his head.

“You're both gone, and it's all my fault. Mom and Jenny are completely lost without out you. Hell, I am too.” Scott admitted. “But after what I did, I can't look them in the eyes anymore. So I'm leaving.”

A quick gust of wind rustled some leaves behind him. The sound made him turn to look to see if maybe someone else had joined him in the cemetery, but when he saw that he was still alone he turned back to the graves.

“I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to be doing. I'm leaving from South Station tomorrow. I think I might head out West for awhile. Kind of stretch my wings a bit. I don't know when I'll be back...if I'll be back. But I want you to know that I love you. Both of you...and I'm sorry.” He finished before getting back to his feet and turning back, slowly walking with his head down, back the way he came.

Character you have created: Bobi Adolow

Alias: She has none.

Speech Color: CornflowerBlue

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Not a secret

Personality: Bobi can be very closed off and guarded from other people, as she has a very hard time trusting anyone nowadays. Other people may see her as rude, and even a bit of a bully, but it doesn’t bother her. She isn’t prone to hanging around other people, and often closes herself up in the Paradox Lab department for weeks on end. When she feels uncomfortable around other people, she gets agitated and loses her patience with them very shortly. The only person she can’t seem to shake off her tail is Shay Vanabound, another agent of Paradox and her assigned partner for the job.

Uniform/Costume:

Origin info/ Details:

Bobi Adolow was born in her father's lab in the middle of a dead end town somewhere in Australia. The details of her life and where she used to live are hazy at best for her, seeing how most of her childhood was spent being cooped up in the lab. She never knew her mother, her only caretaker was Jerome Adolow, the man who created her. Bobi was always more of a machine than a human. Her body, while made of skin and nerves, are hiding a mash of organs and metal. Bobi has no heart, quite literally. She runs and breathes thanks to a core implanted in her back. It’s a small, round disc bigger than her hand. It’s made of metal, and glows an ethereal light blue color. The core’s name is 8081, an odd name given to it by Jerome, its creator. She never quite understood the name, all she knew was that 8081 was a nuisance and a very distracting feature on her body.

8081 is not her only technological feature. Bobi’s left arm is completely made out of metal, and while Jerome has tried to explain to her this oversight, she has learned to accept it as it is. Her arm, as Jerome puts it, is directly connected to 8081. It is an enhancement of sorts, she understands that much. What she doesn’t understand is why he wouldn’t cover it in skin. He had just shrugged in his own, quiet way. “I was just too...proud of it to cover it up. I thought kids your age were supposed to like cool robot stuff like this anyway.” He had said to her.

Bobi lived with Jerome Adolow in his house, and was barred from leaving the laboratory in the basement because “The world just isn’t ready yet, Bo.” She was a very lonely child, and the longer she stayed in the basement and did Jerome’s diagnostics and his tests, the more she steadily grew to resent him. She was 8 when she finally understood that she truly hated Jerome. He may be her father, or creator, but she didn’t love him like one. She was 9 when Jerome introduced her to her first actual friend. Jerome never brought anyone else home, and sometimes Bobi didn’t even think other people came to the house. Her first friend was a girl, who was lot older than Bobi was then, and who stood behind Jerome with a look of wonder on her face. The girl was tall, that much Bobi could see, but also very lanky. Her hair was a light, mouse brown that hung straight past her shoulders; when they first met she had been wearing a faded green flannel shirt, plain jeans and very dirty boots. 8081 told her the brown slush around her feet was mud, something Bobi had only seen in small glimpses here and there.

“Bobi, I’d like you to meet someone very special to me. This is Tucker.” Jerome introduced her. Bobi stood in the dark lab, staring wide eyed at both of them, blankly. Tucker walked up to her, kneeled before her to be on her level, and offered a genuine kind smile.

“We are alike, you and I.” She said, her accent was very different from Bobi’s and Jerome’s. Tucker rolled up one of her sleeves, and held her arm out. At first, Bobi wanted to scoff and push her away from her, because all she saw was plain pale skin. But then it disappeared. The arm was gone, leaving only the cuff of Tucker’s sleeve. Then the arm reappeared, but this time it held colorful dots, then stripes, then odd looking lines that Bobi couldn’t quite name just that they were….squiggly? 8081 told her that it wasn’t a word, but it perfectly described the patterns that Tucker made on her skin. “See? We’re both very different, huh?” Tucker offered. Bobi just nodded, and from that day forward Tucker had been like an older sister to her.

Bobi was 12 when she was first allowed to leave the lab. Jerome had let her sit outside in the backyard for the first time, and it was an eye opening experience. 8081 was buzzing with all of the new information it was taking in, and it soon grew to be too much. She had fainted for a short while, and it gave Tucker and Jerome quite the scare. When she awoke, she finally knew how most of the world worked, how plants grew, why the sky was blue. All of the questions that everyone could possibly ponder about the world they stood on, she had the answer to thanks to 8081. Jerome was reluctant to let her out again, but Tucker convinced him to let her sit on the porch, to which Bobi was thankful for. This time, she did not faint. She and Tucker both sat outside for the second time in her short life, and it was a memory she valued dearly.

Jerome wanted to continue his experiments on Bobi, and while he did, she soon started to wonder why. What purpose did she hold in the world other than running diagnostics? Jerome laughed, something she had almost never heard him do. “You will soon find out. Don’t worry Bobi.” Tucker also told her not to worry, and to pass the time told her stories of the outside world and all that lay in it, like airplanes, and big cities. The days grew longer and longer, and eventually turned into years. Bobi was 16 when she finally decided she had had enough of being cooped up in the house, confined to the back porch and nothing more. She hadn’t told Tucker about these thoughts she was having, as she already knew Tucker would try to hold her back, or worse even: tell Jerome.

She had decided she would sneak away somehow, so when it came time to go on the back porch, she made a run for it and hopped the fence. She could hear Tucker yelling for her to come back, but it was far too late by then. The world grew even larger the more she ran. She could feel that familiar heat behind her back that meant 8081 was reaching its limit on information. She ran into the street, suddenly not in control of her own body, and was hit head on by a car. It was a hard hit, hard enough to send her flying through the air. Sparks flew as her metal arm, which had been hidden beneath the sleeve of a blue sweater, ripped through the soft fabric at the point of impact. The person in the car was frantic, and ran over to see if she was okay, but before then it was too late. Bobi Adolow had died at the scene of the crash.

She was dead for about a week, until 8081 jump started itself again. Bobi slowly came to life, her vision obscured by a sheet that had been pulled over her head. She lay on a cool, metal table that made her skin feel clammy and weird. She mustered enough strength to sit up, and remove the sheet. She was greeted with the dark room of the Thurst City morgue and funeral home. This is where the bodies were kept. She looked around, her eyes much more accustomed to the dark now, and saw that she was not alone in the room. There were a few other dead people in the room with her it seemed, and that didn’t bother her so much as inconvenience her. One of them lay on a table that blocked the door for some reason. She got up, and made her way to it, bumping into this table and that one, muttering sorry as she went. When she reached the door, it opened seemingly on its own, but Bobi came to realize that a nurse must have heard her bumping around in the dark room. When she spotted Bobi, she screamed horrified, something Bobi very much understood as she had probably already been embalmed and lying dead for weeks before this incident. Bobi walked further out into the hallway, scaring the hell out of almost everyone who passed her before one of the staff directed her to a room.

They asked her questions, trying to see if maybe she was just one of those wandering bodies that got up sometimes. “It’s happened before, you know.” One of the nurses explained. Bobi was able to finally convince them that she was indeed alive, but they couldn’t believe it.

“You’ve been…scooped out already though. How the hell are you walking?” One nurse asked; she shook her head, and headed to the front desk. The phone had rang, beckoning for her to answer it. “What?!” The nurse exclaimed. She ran back into the room, and looked at Bobi with terrified eyes. “There’s a girl on the phone asking for you? Your name is Bobi Adolow...correct?” Bobi just nodded.

She was handed the phone, expecting for it be Tucker, only to be very surprised to hear the voice of a girl she had never met before.

“My name is Leila Mayner, I’m sorry we’re meeting on such odd terms.” Leila said, explaining to her very quickly how she ran an Agency named Paradox that was bent on helping anyone with an impossible, unsolvable problem. “I want to know, before Jerome Adolow reaches the morgue, do you want to work for Paradox?”

It seemed to be such a bizarre situation, but the more Bobi thought about being back in the house with no one but Jerome and Tucker, the more her resentment for the man grew. She had never before shown outwardly that she hated Jerome, but she knew if she saw him come through the morgue door, she’d try her hardest to get away from him again. Not even Tucker could convince her to come back. The morgue was such an interesting place, and she found that 8081 wasn’t freaking out like it was normally prone to do. Clutching the phone cord tightly, she nodded to herself.

“Yeah…” She had said. “I wanna work for Paradox.” She could almost hear Leila smile through the phone.

“Excellent. Charlotte will escort you to the nearest kiosk.” Leila said. She could hear excited murmurings around her, and saw that the staff were looking at her with a new kind of reverence.

“You’re a Paradox Agent?” One nurse, the one she had spooked when she first woke up, said. Bobi thought on it for a second, before a slight green moth appeared before her. Everyone in the room seemed to look at her in a new light, as if they understood something she did not.

“That must be it then...she’s one of those Agents, so maybe she’s got powers or something…”

“She’s got a damn robot arm, Harold. Of course she’s a super.”

“I was just saying, I thought the arm was like a fancy prosthetic.”

“Well you guessed wrong, obviously.”

She could hear them theorizing about her, but that didn’t matter then. She grabbed a hold of Charlotte the moth who fluttered before her, and instantly found herself in new clothing. The standard Paradox, dark green blazer. A green, emerald pin with the insignia of a moth lay on her chest. She turned to the other members of the staff.

“Um...thank you, for looking after my body.” She said awkwardly. She walked out the front doors of the morgue and headed straight for a back alley. 8081 was now accompanied by Charlotte who seemed to be leading her through it’s interface, just like Leila had said. There, hidden in the brick and mortar wall was the moth insignia on her pin. She pressed her hand against it, and the bricks moved aside, revealing an elevator. She wasn’t sure which way she should go, up or down, so she let Charlotte choose.

Ever since that day, Bobi Adolow worked as an Agent of Paradox. She was 18 when she was assigned her first solo mission, it wasn’t as harrowing as she thought it would be, but it was something she thought was special. She was 23 when she was first introduced to another friend, her assigned Paradox partner Shay Vanabound. Despite Bobi’s closed off demeanor, and otherwise grumpy disposition, Shay never left her side. Bobi never saw Jerome or Tucker again, and though she missed Tucker, she was far happier working as an Agent than she was running diagnostics for them. There were times where she hated the both of them, but she always lost that battle in her head. She couldn’t bring herself to hate Tucker.

Bobi Adolow is now 25 years old, and works tirelessly in the Lab department of Paradox. Though she hates tests, she finds learning more about 8081 is important. The more she knows, the more she can help people on assignments, and that was something that she worked endlessly on. Despite coming from Australia, she does not work from there. All Agents work from HQ, no matter what kiosk they enter or exit from. Paradox kiosks is scattered all over the world, and to accurately pinpoint where HQ is would be insanity. The only true location I, Liseran Thistle, can give you is that it is definitely located somewhere in the states. Because of this, Bobi is one of the very few international Agents at Paradox HQ.

Hero Type: Brick/Muscle

Power Level: City Level (8081 still has a few tricks up its sleeve that even Bobi hasn’t discovered.)

Powers: Bobi is an enhanced human with robot prosthetics, one of which is incredibly powerful. She has enhanced strength, and is able to connect herself to the world's database, gaining access to any and all information.

Height: 5”6

Weight: 128 lbs

Strength Level: 50

Speed/Reaction Time: 60

Endurance at Maximum effort: 3 hours

Agility: Normal human (She’s not very coordinated on her feet)

Intelligence: Genius

Fighting skill: Trained (Shay has taught her a few things since they’ve first met)

Weaknesses: Even though 8081 has regained some kind of composure, sometimes it can reach its limit. This can happen if Bobi pushes her abilities too far, or even still if she gains too much knowledge at once. When 8081 reaches its limit, parts of her body start to malfunction or shut down completely, which is very bad if she’s fighting someone.

Supporting Character: Shay Vanabound, her assigned Partner; Leila Wingsbury, the Leader of Paradox; Mindy Diasco, a girl Genius; Eris Goodoire, New Jerseys number one music hero; Phoenix, a kind boy from another time; Beatrice Hanamura, Paradox’s only weapon smith; Shou Hanamura, Paradox’s only spy; Cosmos, Paradox’s first interstellar Agent; Thomas Beastly, Paradox’s mythological Beastmaster; Charles “Coggs” Devesh, Paradox’s only practicing Mage and another international Agent like Bobi herself.

Do you know how to post pictures on rpg boards?: Yes

Three Days Later...

The people of Crown Ridge had been on edge since the battle between the heroes and the Hounds of Humanity which had become popularly known as “The Siege of Lost Haven.” Crime had been up, and the Crown Ridge Police Department had been struggling to keep up with the increase in criminal activity. So despite their strict anti vigilante doctrine, some members of the CRPD had somewhat softened their stance when it came to getting help from outside the law, at least privately. Although some members of the local law enforcement community had at least temporarily softened their stance on vigilantism, the ban on vigilante activity still remained.
However, none of this mattered to Lyger, who had remained vigilant in his mission to protect the city. He had been out each night since the Hounds of Humanity had threatened Lost Haven, and by extension Crown Ridge with annihilation, scouring the city for those who wished to do it harm.

Now, he found himself on the rooftop of the Gabriel Building, overlooking downtown Crown Ridge, looking for any sign of trouble. However on this night, things were quiet. In the preceding nights there had been numerous armed robberies, assaults, and even a small riot, however, tonight there was no such activity. In fact, he had been getting ready to call it an early night when he became well aware of a presence nearby. At first, he thought that perhaps it was Flux, but then he realized that this presence was not only behind him, but above him.

“Something I can help you with, Icon?” Lyger asked without ever turning to face the hero of Lost Haven.

“You're not an easy man to find.” Icon told him as he lowered himself to the rooftop.

“I know. That's kind of the point.” Lyger said.

“Arthur and I have been talking.” Icon started. “Over the last couple of years, we've been facing threats that are growing in magnitude. Each time, there has been a group of us that have come together to meet whatever crisis we were facing head on, and we've been able to beat it back. D-Day, Pax Metahumana, the Hounds of Humanity.”

“Go on.” Lyger told him.

“We think that maybe it's time that we put together a team, officially.” Icon said.

“You're talking about The Guardians.” Lyger said, referencing the name that the media had given the group of heroes who had come together to save not only the city, but the entire world on more than one occasion. “I don't know.”

“Look, if the Hounds of Humanity taught us anything, it's that we have to be better prepared. If we don't get better organized, we might not be able to stop whatever comes next.” Icon paused for a moment, letting his words linger in the air. “But it's not just that. There has to be some kind of accountability. Look at what happened this last time, there were people fighting along side us doing just as much damage as the Hounds were, with about as much regard for life.”

“I agree.” Lyger said as he remembered seeing Pantheon summarily execute more than on of the Hounds.

“We have to be better than that, if we're not we're no better than the people we're trying to stop.”

“You're not wrong.” Lyger conceded. “I'm just not sure that a team is the right way to go. Especially with Arthur involved. He hasn't exactly shown that he's the best man to put this kind of thing together. He almost got some kids killed against Diplodoc because he thought that they were ready, when they clearly weren't.”

“And that's why I want you to join us.” Icon said.

“I don't really play well with others.” Lyger said in a matter of fact tone.

“But you're one of the first to show up when you're needed. And you are always willing to put it all on the line. Look, you may not think of yourself as a team player, but you're exactly what we need. I'm not sure we can do this without you.” Icon told him. “Besides, I think you make Arthur nervous.” Icon said with a grin.

“He told you to tell me this was your idea, didn't he?” Lyger asked with a lightness in his tone that hadn't been there before.
“He did.” Icon confirmed with a chuckle.

“Alright, I'm in. If for no other reason than to keep an eye on you all.” Lyger told him.

“That's all I can ask.” Icon said as he lifted off the rooftop. “See you around.

Now

For the better part of a month, Lyger had been tracking the movements of the Winter Park Gang, who had been ramping up their activities since the heat that the Hounds of Humanity had generated had begun to wane. Lyger had been relentless in his pursuit of the criminal enterprise, which had ties to the Shroud Syndicate. He had chased down lead after lead, however, he had failed to find any information that would bring him any closer to the Winter Park Gang's leadership, particularly the one who called himself Rabbit.
Until last night.

He had been tracking a low level thug named Jason Fortin, who was a glorified drug runner for the Winter Park Gang. Fortin was a nobody, a loser. He'd done time for petty theft and drug and weapons charges. He even did a stint in Tartarus Island because of his fetish for underage girls. However, despite the fact that he was a complete waste of skin, he had connections to Rabbit and some of the other high ranking members of the Winter Park Boys.

Lyger had followed Fortin from his apartment on Fryburg Way to what Lyger had learned was his favorite night club, The Golden Mango Gentleman's Club several blocks away. He had waited for the lowlife on the rooftop of a neighboring building until Fortin left through the front door just over an hour later. Lyger continued to follow him as he left the establishment, and once Fortin was far enough away from prying eyes, Lyger had swooped down, knocking the scum back face first into the wall of a nearby building. After a few moments of being pummeled by the black clad vigilante, Fortin was more than happy tell him anything that he wanted to know.

Acting on the information that Fortin had provided him, Lyger had set up shop on the roof across from the waterfront. According to Fortin, the Winter Park Gang would be meeting with the Russians for a weapons deal that could potentially net the Winter Park Gang a small fortune.

Lyger waited in the shadows, watching the shipping vessel “Pelican Breeze,” on which the deal was supposed to go down. There was no activity on the street below, and the area near the ship was completely still. Yet when the clock tower across town chimed, indicating that it was nine o'clock, the activity began to pick up. Several cars began to pull up to the ship, and a number of people, all appearing heavily armed began to pour out of the vehicles.

This was it, Lyger was finally going to be able to make a move on Rabbit himself, all he had to do now was wait until all the pieces were in place.
