Also, just a clarification, the city is Lost Haven, not New Haven.

Welcome aboard

A sense of dread began mounting within Icon as he stood in the street watching as the smaller ships raced toward the city. Moments before, he had been in orbit above the Earth having barely preventing the massive space rock from flattening Lost Haven. While he was relieved to have been able to save his city, he also saw first hand the wholesale destruction that these invaders had wrought upon the world.

Not here you don't. Icon thought to himself as he watched the swarm of ships racing toward Lost Haven.

“Officer, get these people off the street.” Icon said to a police officer standing close by. “I'll cover you, just get them to safety.” He finished as he left the ground to meet the ships head on.

The city went by in a blur as Icon raced toward the descending ships. He was still reeling from the sheer destruction that he had witnessed on a global scale, and was determined to prevent these invaders from destroying his home. He gritted his teeth as he accelerated toward the alien fighters. As he got closer to the ships and he finally got a good look at them, they reminded him of a Klingon Bird of Prey from the old Star Trek movies, except they were matte black and sleeker. They were also small, only large enough for a single pilot. Suddenly, there was a flash of green-white light as the smaller vessels opened fire on him. He did a barrel roll, avoiding several energy bolts as he approached the incoming vessels. However, before he could reach the mass of ships, they showed just how maneuverable they were, breaking formation and going in every direction, firing their laser weapons almost indiscriminately as they buzzed the city below.

“Guardians, Gather up.” Came the call from the Guardians com device that Arthur had given him. Icon winced at the words as he banked hard to the left as he went after one of the ships that had begun firing its weapons into apartment buildings below.

“I've already got boots on the ground....So to speak. Get here as quick as you can, there's too many of them.” Icon said as he caught up to the ship, balled up his fist and hurled an energy blast at the alien vessel, sending it careening into an abandoned construction site below. It was then that he saw more ships descending toward the city. These ships were larger than the fighters that had been attacking Lost Haven/ They were square and bulky, almost like what he could imagine the military of the future might use to deploy troops into an active war zone. When he realized that they were not attacking but landing, he knew that is exactly what they were.

“Guardians, we have troop carriers landing all over the city, we have to try and contain them before they can cause too much damage.” He said as he flew toward one of the carriers to head off the invaders.
Glad you're back
Character you have created: Louisa
Alias: Cadence
Speech Color: Chartreuse
Character Alignment: Walking the line
Identity: Secret

Character Personality:
Louisa is an easy going and sometimes seeming air headed kind of person. She tends to go with the flow of situations and only really goes against it and starts acting serious when something goes completely against her moral compass. This can happen in situations such as a small child being abused or someone she cares about get hurts, which she will handle vehemently.
On those lines though she hardly lets anyone get truly close to her. Everyone is a friend until they show aggression to her but no one is someone she truly cares for or would often fight for. She would fight but that's more of a I'm just here situation or this looks interesting than actually too much care about the other people. She is also the kind of person that doesn't like unfair fights and would jump in just to help the odds out a bit.

Uniform/costume:
Neon orange crop hoodie and a pair of black jeans.

Origin Info/Details:
Louisa doesn't know where she is originally from. What she does know that is for as long as she could remember she was within pristine white facilities that stank of antiseptic. Her parents are memories that were lost long ago. All she knew from her upbringing were the adults that led her from test to test, as well as the children she would see from time to time. She knew she had magic from a very young age as the adults around would not let her forget as they tested her capability to her limits as well as trained her in the fighting style of Krav Maga. As a small child with a lisp she found herself hurt and shut off from the rest of the people more often than not. She found herself turning to her imaginary world instead and let her thoughts roam as she dreamed of all the things that could be.
This all ended though when she was fifteen years old and now after having her magical skills acknowledged and the lisp beaten out of her she found herself with growing powers along with a fury that had been held inside for her for much too long. Escaping the facility with just a few causalities on the way out she finally found out that she was in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska.
She has grown up as a nomad, never settling down and staying around for too long. She has made what she could have considered friends but after a few months or a year she would feel the itch to move on again and so she would take whichever way the wind would take her. Eight years later and she has walked, hitch hiked and even teleported her way across the country and has found herself in Maine.

Hero Type:
Mystic- Spell casters and magic users, if you're using any sort of magic then it goes here.

Power Level:
B. City Level (Ex. Spider-Man, Cyclops)

Powers:
Rhyming spells-
Louisa's powers come in the form of vocal spells that rhyme. She can only do these spells vocally and they have to be sentences that not only tell the spell what to do but also the last words have to rhyme.

She has a limited amount of power with her spells. Yes she could probably turn someone inside out if she was angry enough but that will make her faint. She can teleport but only around a city, not from city to city let alone planets.

Attributes (Select one at each category):
Height: 5'4
Weight: 105 pounds
Strength: Slightly below average
Mobility: Slightly above average
Intelligence: Average, mostly street smarts
Fighting Skill: Trained in some Krav Maga
Resources:

Weaknesses:
Take away her voice and she is no longer much of a threat.

Joren and Breia sat in the living quarters watching over the injured stranger that they had brought into their sanctuary. Since Joren had rescued the man from the dangers of the desert, the stranger had said few words. Instead, he had been drifting in and out of consciousness. However, in the brief moments that he had been coherent, the stranger had revealed that he was called Drast'une, and that he had been attacked by a group of Tusken Raiders, and had miraculously escaped with his life. There was something unsettling about the man, but Joren couldn't quite put his finger on exactly what it was. However, it had been enough for him to keep his blaster within arm's reach. It had also been enough for him to take other measures to protect his friends. He had gone into the room that Breia had provided for him and Kelsa, and grabbed the satchel which held a few of his belongings, most notably his father's lightsaber. He didn't know why he felt compelled to take the relic, but he had taken it and hidden it in the inner pocket of the light jacket that he had been wearing.

Throughout the night, Joren and Dono had taken turns watching over the man, treating and dressing his wounds, all the while, keeping a close eye on him, because as they had learned, one could never be too careful when dealing with the unknown.

“So tell me.-” Joren finally said breaking the silence. “What made you change your mind?”

“What do you mean?” Breia asked.

“You weren't going to open the door. You agreed with the others, you...you thought it was too dangerous, but then you opened the door anyhow.” Joren said.

“I don't know.” Breia started. “You were right, I knew that. We couldn't just leave him out there to die. You're right though, I also agreed with the others. It was too dangerous, I wanted to keep the door locked, but then I saw that you were willing to go out there and risk your life for a complete stranger and you...just reminded me of my brother.”

“Your brother?” Joren asked.

“Nevil. He was a good man, always willing to lend a hand when it was needed. Sometimes I think he had more bravery than smarts. It's also what got him killed.” Breia told him, her voice cracking slightly as tears began forming at the corners of her eyes. “But I don't want to talk about that, not now at least.” Breia said as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

“I understand. And I'm sorry.” Joren said. “But if you change your mind, I'm here.”

“I appreciate that.” Breia said.

Joren was about to say something, but was interrupted by the sounds of Drat'une's coughing. The stranger had again regained consciousness and was attempting to sit up. Joren went over to the man and offered him a mug o water. The man brushed his long black hair out of his face as he began to drink greedily from the mug, gulping the water down.

“I...I wanted to thank you.” Drast'une said as he put the mug down on the table in front of the sofa.

“It was nothing. Anyone would have doe the same thing.” Joren said.

“I think we both know...that is not the case.” Drast'une said with a smirk.

Suddenly, Joren felt something from the stranger. Where that before had been nothing, he now felt cold. He felt a darkness that he had never before experienced. As these feelings washed over him, Joren began to feel a sense of dread.

“To the contrary, it was indeed very much something. You are not like the others, you are selfless, you have something inside of you that makes you special. You have something that so very few beings have in in the galaxy these days. And that is how I found you. It is how I lured you here from Nar Shaddaa.”

Dread washed over Joren. He thought back to the time on the Dreams after they had escaped Nar Shaddaa. The feeling that he had, the voice that had called out to him, beckoned for him to come to Tatooine. He also was reminded of the sense of unease that he'd felt since landing on the desert planet, the feeling that someone had been watching him.

“Breia, get out of here.” Joren said.

“What?” She asked, unsure as to what was going on.

“Get to the others and get out of here.” Joren said again. This time Breia did as she was told and made her way out of the living chambers.

“Ah yes, but don't run too far. This won't take long.” Drast'une called after her.

Joren pulled out his blaster, but before he could squeeze the trigger, it was ripped from his hands by an unseen force and flung across the room. Then, before he knew it, Joren was gripped by invisible hands and lifted into the air, before being thrown over the back of the chair that he had previously been sitting in. Then Drast'une sprang on him, straddling him, pinning his arms to the ground.

“Perhaps I was wrong about you. Perhaps you aren't so special after all. The Force may be with you, but you don't know how to use it.-” Drast'une taunted him. “-Pity.” Joren struggled to get free of the larger man's grip, but it was no use. Drast'une was simply too strong.

“I did not want it to come to this. I wanted you to join me. But I see now that you are too weak. You do not have what it takes to embark on the journey that I would take you on.” he said as a pair of tendrils made their way out of his cheeks, inching toward him.

“For too long, I have been forced to feed on vermin, it has been far too long since I have enjoyed the soup of one of your kind.-” He said as the tendrils moved ever closer to Joren's nostrils. “I want you to know that I am truly going to enjoy you, Joren Kel.”

Joren could feel something pushing at his psyche, telling him to just give in and accept the inevitable. But he fought the urge and refused to allow the Anzat to make a meal of him.Joren reached deep within himself and called on the Force, using it to push Drast'une back. Though he wasn't able to get the creature off of him, he was able to free his hand. He reached into the hidden pocket of his jacket.

“Too little, too--” Drast'une's words were cut off as the snap-hiss of a lightsaber filled the room, and a bright blue-white blade protruded from Drast'une's back. The Anzat slumped forward, and Joren was able to push the larger being off of him. He deactivated the lightsaber and was in the process of slipping it back into his jacket when he was suddenly aware that he was no longer alone.

“Vod'ika, you? You're a Jetii?” Dono said, more of a statement of disbelief than a question.

“No.-” Joren began, his words coming between gasps of breath. “I'm no Jedi.”

“I've seen you. I saw you use the Force. And you have the weapon of a Jedi.”

Joren paused for a moment. He knew that the Mandalorians had a bit of a complicated history with the Jedi, and he didn't know if that history would put a strain on their friendship. Many Mandalorians still held grudges against the Jedi, and the Mandalorians as a people tended to have long memories.

“I'm not a Jedi. But my father was.-” Joren said as he held out his lightsaber for Dono, and everyone else to see. “-And this is all I have left of him.

For weeks, since the night that Icon had shown up on his doorstep looking for help, Lyger had been tracking down every lead he could find on the Eye of Osiris. Though Harry had been able to provide him with the name of the organization, he didn't have much more than that. The criminal organization had been rumored to be involved in all kinds of criminal trade allover the world, and had been suspected of toppling a number of fragile regimes all around the globe. However, much to his dismay, nothing that he had learned was verifiable.

He had heard rumors of a bounty that had been placed on the heads of heroes, and not just any hero. All heroes. Again, he heard rumors of it, but as with everything else when it came to this organization, nothing verifiable.

And then a group of street thugs tried to take his head off.

He had taken care of the thugs easily enough, but getting answers out of them were harder to come by. Nobody would say who put the bounty on the heroes. Not because they didn't know, but because they were afraid.

They were afraid of the man who put the bounty on the heads of the heroes. They were more afraid of whoever that man was, than they were of him. However, all of that seemed insignificant at the moment. The sight of a massive alien ship appearing in the skies above Earth, unleashing a volley of asteroids at the planet, potentially killing millions in the process.

Kyle Porter made his way around the back of the decommissioned post office building that stood above The Den and down the hidden elevator that led to his hidden lair. His heart was racing as the impossibly slow elevator took what seemed like an eternity to descend to the bowels of the building to The Den.

Finally, the elevator mercifully came to a stop.

“How bad?” Kyle asked as he stepped off the elevator toward the array of computers that had been set up in the middle of the room.

“It's bad.” Cassie answered, a hint of disbelief in her voice.

“How-” Kyle paused as he looked at the damage reports scrolling across the computer screens.
“-bad...” his words trailed off as he saw Kenna sitting at the computers, her eyes glued to the screens.

Berlin Germany, Moscow, an entire region of France, Hawaii, Okinawa, all gone. Among others. However, he knew that wasn't what had her sitting in a state of shock. San Francisco, her home, the city that she had been protecting for years as the vigilante Quickshadow, was gone. Destroyed when one of the asteroids impacted the city, wiping it from the face of the Earth and setting off a chain reaction of earthquakes that rocked nearly the entire West Coast.

He looked down at Kenna, Harry's granddaughter, and the woman who had been a general pain in his ass since she arrived in Crown Ridge after Harry had chosen to end his retirement and return to help Lyger with the Eye of Osiris problem. She felt that she was a better vigilante than he was, and she had proven since her arrival that she may well be. If anything, her experience had proven useful night after night. But in this moment, he didn't see a seasoned vigilante, he saw a woman who was in pain. A woman who had just lost everything, and everyone that she loved, and had been forced to witness that loss from a computer screen while over 3,000 miles away.

“Kenna...” He said, putting a hand on her shoulder just as the Guardians communicator that Iron Knight had given him pinged.

Lyger: Link Connected

“I'm coming with you.” Kenna said, finally coming out of her daze.

“No, you're not ready right now. You'll get yourself killed.” Kyle told her as he began getting into his gear.

“What does that matter? I've lost everyone.” Kenna told him, almost pleading.

“I'm not burying anyone else from your family.” Kyle said sharply. “Go to my place, get Sam and bring her here. Then be ready.”

“Ready for what?” Kenna asked, visibly angry from being sidelined.

“Someone has to watch over Crown Ridge if I don't make it.” Kyle said as he put on his mask and climbed onto his motorcycle.

“Lyger here, I'm on my way.” he said as he started the bike, and made his way up towards the street, before taking off toward Lost Haven.
