VyceHello I'm craving an RP based on the four elemental worlds, bending system, and general lore of Avatar the Last Airbender. I'd like to use original characters ONLY.
I admit I haven't finished Legend of Korra. I'm open to different time periods, but I'm most interested in a pre-war alternate universe even medieval-ish era where all four nation's are still flourishing. Since one of my characters is from the Air Kingdom.
Like I said I haven't finished Korra so I'm no scholar on the series, but try not to be too OOC with the world (for instance, keeping Asian mythological influence and appearance).
You can portray the current Avatar in the world if you'd like or any original character. I'd like to play either of these characters. They can be paired with any gender partners as long as said partners are at least younger adults in game. I don't quite GM my games but I love writing side characters and NPCs with one main character or two like an episodic series.
I prefer RPing in a private thread on the forums than in PMs. Just my preference.
Zashiki: Zash for short. He's a runaway from the Air Nomads and an Airbender whose more of an earbender who wanted to forsake a spiritual monastic life for the hedonism of the fire kingdom. He's a Stoker (from story/joker; also stoking a flame) a class of fire nation jester/Bard/male geisha influenced by japanese taikomochi.
He travels from village to village hoping to earn the patronage of wealthy families and perhaps even the fire Lord himself someday. He's always taking other people's stories and twisting the truth but like any good performer he knows his audience cares more about entertainment than the truth.
He achieved air bender mastery as a teenager for making the most serious monk in his temple laugh by airbending a whoopie cushion when he sat down on his meditation cushion. Since the Air Nomads have frat bro levels of humor they let him level up to Airbender master. Zash hides his tattoos with elaborate face paint almost like a male koyishi warrior and he often emulates animals and characters in his stories with his elaborate make up and costumes.
However, as talented as Zash is at weaving tales and stories, the Stoker longs for his own adventure and that his own life could perhaps become legend. But is he just burning out in the Fire Nation?
Nok: A foul mouthed, sweet faced, liquor bending swamp "witch" who hails from the Foggy Swamp tribe.
Nok comes from a long line of catgator wrestlers. But having felt deeply connected to nature, rather than wrestle and kill a pregnant catgator for gator gumbo, she released and befriended the mother. Who even let her have one of her hatchlings, a chubby lazy male catgator who Nok rides and named Puss. After her taming of the catgator, members of the Foggy Swamp tribe started domesticating instead of hunting the creatures.
For her bravery and love of all nature, Nok is next in line to be their Mudanka: the shaman, healer and wise woman of her tribe. Born into the Mudanka or Shamaness of the Swamp role, she has had to sit under the sacred bunyan tree until she achieves enlightenment.
Nok is more of a wise ass than wise woman however. And the more she sits under that sacred tree waiting on enlightenment to come to her, she's ready to just get up and go to it. And more and more, the wind whispering through the sacred bunyan tree is urging her to tap into the Foggy Swamps ancient roots among the Water tribes.
