Letting out an annoyed breath, Kyra turned to look at Parum. Her tolerance for outsiders, cowards, and fools were at an all time low. However because Parum at least tried to convince the guards to let them through earlier, Kyra didn't immediately tell the halfling to leave. But she wasn't going to stand around to debate their course of action for long. Even Brannor, who arrived to help, seem to question or at least wonder what was going through their minds when they decided to leave the keep to hunt down more cultists. Kyra kept it simple. "Even if we're outnumbered, and even if this is a trap, I don't intend to leave these bandits free to destroy my village. It'll take years for us to rebuild. Longer to heal from everything we lost today. If you're scared or worried about your life you're free to stay in the keep. I'm going ahead." Kyra then looked to Brannor, who would probably be willing to fight if there was a good reason beyond killing as many bandits as they could. "And we still need to capture a prisoner. Chances are if they're going to attack the mill, they'll be lead by someone who may know more about this attack. Something about the dragon, or whoever their leader is. Or how long they intend to besiege my home."

After explaining her motives to the two, Kyra turned towards Torag who seemed to be doing some sort of magic ritual. Or just sending his bird out to scout, which may as well be magic to Kyra. She wasn't sure what Torus could see through the bird, if he could at all, but any information they had on the enemy was better than none. "If you're so worried that this might be a trap, Parum, then you should focus your efforts into figuring out their plan. The mill is a fair bit away from the keep with only one road leading to it. I suppose if the raiders intend to ambush us there, we'll be too far from the keep to try to make a run for it or to get backup." But if this was a trap, then all the better. It meant that their efforts were having some effect against the invaders. They'll have to be extra careful, but that wasn't going to stop Kyra.
Oooh, interesting. I've been thinking about Kyra and Parum talking to each other, with Kyra abolishing Parum about her cowardice. I'll work on a post now, but wait for someone else to post first.
Kyra tried not to let her temper get the best of her and yell at Escobert. She needed to reserve her fury on the enemy, not her allies. Even if they were fools. On the bright side, Escobert also mentioned that there was a good chance that everyone that could be saved was already in the keep. That meant Kyra could focus on eliminating these raiders and perhaps capturing one of them. She strung up her bow and made sure her quiver still had plenty of arrows. Her sword was sharp, and while her magic was drained she could still rely on a few low level spells. Torag caught up to the group and mentioned that they would need his scouting abilities, which Kyra nodded her head to. "That'll be appreciated. If they're at the mill to take any of our supplies, they may have a wagon or something nearby to carry them. If we can find it, we can stop them before they get too far."

Orchid mentioned getting food at the mill, which Kyra spoke up about. "Focus, Orchid. First we have to fight and talk to one of the bandits. Let's not waste time or risk ourselves trying to get something to eat." Kyra looked down and her voice grew low. "If we survive all of this, I'd love to treat you all to a feast..." Sighing Kyra looked back up, determination in her eyes. The fire in her heart flared. "But let's go save the mill first. It's by the river to the southwest. There's a forest near it that we can use as cover as we sneak in. Assuming they're using a wagon or cart, they only have one road to take. That should make it easy for us to intercept them." Once everyone was ready and Kyra had her gear checked, she started marching towards the south.

"Let's go."
Yaaaay~

Though I imagine that Kyra would also have been extra pissed if she learned her family, or even just one of her parents, was killed in this raid. But she'll count her blessings that they both managed to make it out alive.
I'm home! I'll work on a post ASAP!

Edit: Btw @Hekazu, would Kyra's adoptive parents be alive still? I imagine that would be important for her to know.
Yeah, sorry for a lack of a post! I'm still adapting to the work of my new job too.

"Certainly! And yeah, these tests are a real killer." Eva handed Connor a towel and a bottle of water. Seemed like everyone was just about to finish up their part of the tests. More people started to come over and relax in the shade or just on the ground. Eva was half-tempted to tell them that they need to stand up and let their bodies breath properly, but she decided against it. They were done with their tests now so they can relax however they like. One of the students, Lance, asked how everyone's day was going. Eva went over to him and handed him a towel and water bottle too. "So far so good. Is it... A bit funny that I think today's tests was harder than the first exam? I mean... Eheh, I guess not all our quirks are meant to be too useful."

Afterwards All might dismissed the students and everyone went back to their regularly scheduled classes. Things like Mathematics, Classic Literature, English Language, and some hero related courses like Finances. It was rather funny seeing some of the top heroes in the world acting like regular high school teachers, though perhaps because they were such famous and powerful teachers that everyone generally kept their attitudes in check. No doubt some of these teachers aren't afraid to lay down the law and keep any trouble-making students in line. Eva for the most part paid attention the best she could, writing down notes and trying to absorb and understand the lessons. Granted she had to admit some of these subjects went over her head and she started to worry if she could maintain her academic score as well as her heroic one.

"Well, that's what we have others here for. To help each other out."

Eventually the day was coming to a close and everyone returned to their dorms. Eva wished she could go out and buy some things to spruce up her room, however her homework had a higher precedence. So she just turned her laptop on, put on some soothing jazz, and got to studying. It was very tempting to "take a break" and play some video games, but Eva promised herself that she'll play all night once she at least gets her homework done. Now if only she could get through it faster...
"Good gods..." Kyra was half tempted to put an arrow through both these clown's faces. She was grateful for Parum's words, but evidentially that wouldn't be enough for them. Was it so hard for these fools to understand they still had permission to leave? Then again, this sort of obstructive red tape is exactly why Kyra never joined the militia. These people try too hard to be professional when the time to act is more important than following a hierarchy. "Parum, Orchid, follow me. We're going to find that thick headed dwarf or that fool of a governor and get their 'permission' so these chuckleheads will get out of our way." Kyra said angrily. She turned around and looked for either Escobert or the governor. Escobert would be the easiest to fine, or so Kyra figured. She just needed to ask the guards or see where the most militia men were leaving from.

"Damn foreign guard, can't even take a piss without going through so many damn orders. They'll fall on spears if no one tells them to watch their step..." Kyra grumbled underneath her breath. She clenched her bow in one hand, and gripped her holy symbol in the other. She was both praying to Chauntea to calm her nerves and wish a disproportional amount of harm on those guards in the basement. Kyra cared very little if they were only doing their jobs; the moment where their jobs interfere with her job is when demons are at work. She gripped her holy symbol so hard that her fingers were starting to bleed, the thorns on her rosary digging into her skin. Eventually Kyra would find what she assumed to be the command center, and ideally where Escobert was. She let herself in.

"Escobert! I need your permission to leave the keep. There are still villagers out there and we need to capture and interrogate one of the raiders. Those clowns you call guards won't let us pass unless we have some symbol of your approval."
Ah, sorry to hear that. Well I'll just get a post up. It's kinda sad seeing just one paragraph, but maybe I can push it to at least two.
Yes, a post! @Hekazu, should we do a bit of a collab to find Escobert or the governor? I still want to try to capture a prisoner if possible.
