Current The irony of someone telling other people they have nothing better to do when they write on a roleplaying forum is not lost on me

I’ve worked min wage jobs and I’ve done the bare minimum and have still gotten the measly ten cent raises yearly and good references from them. There really is no point, bare minimum gets you by.

On the topic of worldbuilding-

Yeah, writing a bunch of details generally means it's going to waste. Most people aren't going to read "non-essential" data. Yeah, there's technically no harm in adding detail to the world you wish the players to partake in, but there is a point where one wonders if it was really productive figuring out the estimated GDP of kingdoms, or how much square feet a city/castle/base takes up. Unless you're running a nation RP, but that's the exception to the rule generally. There will always be users that read it all of course, but there are also plenty who will skim over minute details.

Again, there's nothing wrong with worldbuilding, as some people enjoy doing that as a hobby, and this is a writing forum to begin with. But in terms of making the roleplay run smoothly? You could probably spend that time doing other GM duties rather than writing "fluff", but honestly it's mostly up to preference and tastes.

Personally, I do even like reading lore dumps of rps from time to time but I also recognize it's a massive time sink for a roleplay which may or may not survive. (and I haven't done any surveys on the average "survival" rate of rps but I imagine it is high) But honestly, a rich lore does not improve your chances in the slightest, at least from personal experience, of having players stick with the roleplay. I've seen roleplays with extensive OOCS last as long as the rps with the bare essentials, who have just a plot summary or a vague description.

Even with in regards to plot, little worldbuilding just means that the players will have to fill in the blanks with the "plot" of the roleplay which should, in theory, make up for any lack of worldbuilding given by the GM.

That's my two cents on that.

Maybe it’s both
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my section in the HIGH advanced section, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on the free section, and I have over 3000000 confirmed word counts. I am trained in elitist warfare and I’m the top writer in the entire roleplayerguild player base. You are nothing to me but just another free rper. I will wipe you the fuck out with pretentiousness the likes of which has never been seen before on this guild, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with only writing one paragraph? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am accessing my secret network of alt accounts across the Guild and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call the casual section. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can write excessively long and rambling essays anywhere, anytime, and I can reject your CS in seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in Shakespearean literature, but I have access to the entire vocabulary of the SAT and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the guild, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “high casual” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
Ah alright.

My only other question is the limitations on TSFs for PCs, are they only limited to the guidelines posted on the first page of this interest check?
Do any of the alternative plans exist or I guess have occurred or will occur in this rp? I'm not sure how close you're following canon events or if all because as far as I know operation shattered steel does not exist in the canon.
I've made my views clear in previous threads but I'll say them again I guess.

The complaint of cliques on discord could have been applied to the guild long before discord was popularized/existed. It just was behind "closed doors." cliques gravitate towards each others rps and its not necessarily a completely bad thing (it is better to rp with people you know you'll mesh well with) But of course there is always the issue of inclusion/exclusion. I don't think it was any harder to "talk shit" about other users/threads with the PM system or on skype or texts or whatever. "talking shit" is going to happen organically whether discord is there or not, imo there are other venues one could reasonably do the same.

I feel discord simply made it more OPEN and obvious.

As for the activity thing, I think it might be correlated but it doesn't prove causation. Yes, obviously spending time on discord is time you didn't spend writing an IC post, but theres a dozen more things imo that distract from posting on IC, and I'd find it difficult to point blame solely on discord. As Saint Maxx pointed out, if someone wants to post they will- If someone is flakey they will find other things to do other than post.

I'm tentatively interested but this rp seems to be getting a lot of attention. I'll bow out if there's a lot of people joining, so I guess I'll wait and see how many people app a character/an OOC is released.

@Ammokkx

Aren't you dragging out a conflict/making a big deal rn bro doe? lmao
