I've been thinking about making an NPC who sides with the kryptonites. I already had his name in mind.
Richard Masters.
Coïncidence? I think not.

Maybe he can be the kids father or uncle or something? For upcoming extra thickening plots.

Steve

Location: alley across Heroes' Café
interacting with: Buildings

Aaaand I'm naked. Only his baggy blue trousers remained as his boxershort, while his other clothers were completely destroyed. As he continued to keep growing he suddenly felt his back and butt touch the building behind him. Within seconds he was stuck between the buildings. As he kept growing he pushed the buildings apart with his body. Sorry people... Luckily the buildings didn't collapse under the pressure. On the other hand, he was now stuck, giant and naked for everybody to see. He couldn't bend his legs like this.

Somebody opened a window: "Hey big guy! Would you mind not pushing against the building?! There are people in here!"
Steve's answer came out like a deep rumble: "Ehrm, Sorry Sir. I'm a little stuck...
You might want to evacuate the building."
"We've got people in here hiding for the harpies! We are not going outside at the moment. You got us in this situation, you figure it out!"

Internally, Steve shrunk of shame. But his body stayed the same giant size. There we go again.. What are my options?
1) Wait until someone with lots of butter comes along and slide out.
2) Push the building over and kill all these people.
3) Force myself to squat position and probably also kill people.
4) Give a slight push against the building and hope it doesn't collapse and then move down and sideways slowly and controlled.
5) Ask for help from other epics.

Steve didn't want to kill anybody, but was too ashamed to ask for help. So he decided to try the limits of the building. It only had to be a little. His skin was as thick as a brick wall at the moment, so he could handle a little skinburn if necessary.
He pushed a little..
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" The man at the window was furious and scared at the same time.
"sorry sir, just a little."
The building moved 20 more cm without collapsing. That would be enough.
Oh shit. Suddenly Steve realised that the base of the building wouldn't give in as easily, so he would probably get stuck again if he went down. He had to go either sideways or up. Sideways then. Slowly and with his full attention, Steve balanced between not destroying the building, and moving sideways. It took him 10 minutes. But then he finally reached the side. Only ten meters below him was the ground. His mind wasn't used to these heights, but logic dictated that is should be possible. 10 meters for a 20 meters tall giant, was proportionally only 1 meter for a normal human. He looked out for any people below, but when he saw the area was clear, he let go. The impact of his feet on the street could be felt and heard by everybody in the area. His body could handle the impact without trouble. The street, not so much. Two big feet were now imprinted in the street. The buildings around him shook, but survived. Barely though. Steve took a deep breath. That was that
Releasing his sigh, he accidentally shattered two glass windows with the aircurrent created by his breath.
Stay focused Steve. Stay focused.

interacting with: Harpy

Quick quick, what should I do?! Slightly panicking, Steve went through his options as the harpy lifted him higher and higher.
1) Grow.
If I grow I can handle the harpy but it won't be able to hold me so we fall.
He looked down. By now the alley was already 6 meters below them. Too high.
2) Do nothing until it's safer.
When is it going to get safer?! It's only taking me higher! Internally he was yelling at himself.
10 meters.
3) Try to fight the harpy while staying small.
Now that is your most terrible idea so far. Either it will hurt me, or it will drop me. Or both.
15 meters.
This is going great.
It was almost as if the harpy was purposely taking him somewhere. Or it was just going to drop him from a height because it was just a sadistic creature.
Wouldn't it have dropped me already then? Desperately he tried to remember, what he had seen on a card before. The very same trading card game that Robert had been so enthousiastic about earlier today, had a monster set with mutated creatures that had been fought in the past, or that were otherwise spotted in EC and around the world. Everyone knew about the swarm rats, but Steve was sure he had seen a picture of the creature that was taking him before. come on Steve! What useful information is hidden in your memory?
20 meters.
Before his minds eye he vaguely saw the card. As if he was focusing a lens on it. "Harpies!" he said out loud. They are called harpies.
...
Well that was useful.

25 meters.
Steve was already realising his big mistake of not growing when it was only 6 meters, because ofcourse a fall of 6 meters would be nothing for a 20 meters tall giant. But before he could continue beating himself up mentally over that mistake, he spotted another option.
30 meters.
They were quickly nearing the roof of the building next to them. If the harpy would just not drop him for another ten meters, everything would be fine.
35 meters.
He prepared himself to reach for the building once the harpy was going to feel his weight growing and would decide to let him go.
40. meters.
Just a little further.
42.
Go!
As they emerged from the alley and into the open sky, Steve stretched his legs. Immedeately he started growing very rapidly. They harpy only took him a couple more meters before realizing he wasn't able to lift this weight. It let go.
45 meters above the ground, little Steve grew into giant Steve.
He started falling while his growing arms reached for the edge of the building's rooftop.
43 meters.
just a little further.
41.
Crap crap crap!
38.
Shitfuck!
35.
GOT IT!
At the very last moment Steve's growing arms had reached the building. He clung with all his might, praying that the building would be able to hold him.
I've made an NPC freak too. Tell me what you guys think.

Steve figured he just had to sit this one out. Events like this happened fairly often and the inhabitants of EC had gotten used to it. Though deadly, most villains or monsters were too distracted by the heroes who were taking them on, to be concerned about regular civilians. If he would stay low in the shadow behind this dumpster, no harm was going to befall him. In situations like this he had often feared it to be his duty to help others and use his giant size. But he was way more comfortable not being in the picture and having lesser responibility as a disabled person. Luckily there were so many people like his friend Robert, who wanted to be a hero. They were almost fighting amongst each other for who could be the most badass hero. The most famous or the most useful. Steve assumed there were more than enough people handling these situations. And his help would probably not even be appreciated.

From: STEVE
To: ROB
Hey Rob, I'm across Heroes Café, hiding in the alley,
in case you're looking for me.
You're probably still melting some birds, so good luck! and stay safe!
I need you in one piece. Let me know when I can expect you.

Seconds after he had hit send, he heard a cat's meow coming from his bag. More specifically, from the pocket of Robs pants that he was carrying with him. He hit his forehead with his flat hand. That was dumb.

And dumb it was. However faint the sound, a nearby harpy managed to pick it up and make a little inspection. Steve was putting away his phone when he suddenly felt sharp claws gripping his shoulders. Two of the talons pierces his skin. Before he could react to it, the Harpy had lifted him up in the air, and out of his chair. In a reflex, Steve curled up to a ball, as to not turn giant. As he was lifted higher and higher into the air, he started doubting whether it was the deadly threat of the harpy, or the social anxiety related to his power, that scared him more.
@Regitnui Can you take a look at the CS I filled in for Jet Fuel and add him to the NPC box?

Also, I do like creating characters, so I could make some more NPC's for different sides.
@Obscurus
I'm directly outside it, if you wanna meet someone that just caused a few harpies to have head trauma.

Good to know! I'm going to bed now though, so I can't catch up right now. Feel free to move your character wherever, I'll see what I can make tomorrow. Good night!
Hey guys, this is info about Jet Fuel for in the NPC box. (I guess he needs to be GM approved too)

Hey guys, whose characters are currently in or near Heroes café?
Steve

Location: Kent Street, City center
interacting with: Jet Fuel

Steve and Robert were heading over to the Heroes' Café to get some drinks to celebrate, but halfway Kent street, Steve thought of something. "I wanna make a quick stop at the supermarket before we go to the café"
"Now? fine, I know a shortcut from here." Robert pushed Steve's wheelchair through a narrow alley. Lois Lane, read the sign.

Not long after, Steve rolled outof EpicMart, with the cupcake and the small candle hidden in his bag. Celebration needed to be done properly: beers, a cupcake, self-mockery and moderate enthousiasm. Robert had been waiting outside and was now staring at something in the sky. "Oh hey Steve, you done? Something is happening in town, can you see those flying things over there?" He pointed to what at this moment only were moving black dots in the sky. "I'm done! And I swear, every time we walk out of this supermarket, something is going wrong in the city."
Robert was not really listening as he tried to see what the flying dots were. "You know, maybe we should go check it out."
Steve rolled his eyes and sighed. "Dun dun-dun dun! this sounds like a job for... Meltman! aren't you happy now that you went with Jet Fuel? Anyway, go check it out, but stay in one piece. I'll see if I can make it to the café without to much trouble. Shouldn't be long before some heroes bring back the peace."
Robert was already taking of his shirt, reveiling his Jet Fuel suit underneath. "One of those heroes would be me. Keep my clothes with you, will you?"
"Geez, ofcourse you were already wearing the costume. Well, good luck Meltman. I'll be at the café."

Fifteen minutes later, Steve found himself stuck in an alley, as on the streets, Harpies and epics were fighting each other. The Heroes' Café was within sight, but he decided it was better to wait a bit until things cleared up. He was fairly safe in the shadows of the alley, and the harpies were busy enough or so it seemed. Robert, or Jet Fuel, would probably be not too far from here.
