I made the changes. Surely you'd want more people than just 3 before starting? Maybe you should post this in the interest check forum, seeing as that's where people normally look for new RPS.
Manchester represent, yo.
Name: Edgar Hemlocke
Race: Caucasian Male Human
Age: 44
Skills: Master craftsman and engineer, and a well-spoken diplomat who prefers to solve problems with discussion instead of violence, though he realises that not all people can be bargained with, and he is by no means a pacifist.

Magic: His only magic is that which is imbued into his mechanical pet spider, Archie, to give it it’s own consciousness and control over itself. (More on Archie in equipment)

Equipment: Edgar wears grey dress pants and shiny black boots, with a white button up shirt, a black pinstripe tie and a grey waistcoat, with a bowler hat on his head. He keeps a pair of goggles normally around his neck like a necklace, and a metal plate held on the back of his utility belt can be attached to the goggles to form a welding mask. He stands at 6"2, with an average build for his height. His hair is brown, commonly slicked back, and his facial hair consists of thick mutton chops and a horseshoe moustache.

A utility belt on his waist contains many standard tools for an engineer, including measuring tape, a hammer, a wrench, as well as his cigar case and spare ammo for himself and Archie, and two canisters on either side of his hip, both running up his body and down his arms under his shirt via rubber tubes to leather gloves plated with metal so as to be protective, but still allow flexibility to his hands.

In the left hand, a small dial on the back of the palm allows the index finger of the glove to be used as a blowtorch for welding, although he also tends to use it for lighting his cigars. The right glove can be used to spray oil from the index finger for use as a lubricant, or to temporarily stun or blind any would be assailant, and is activated by pressing his other 3 fingers into his palm.

His main weapon is a lever action rifle, held in a holster on his back and modified to take a drum barrel holding up to 12 bullets, though his marksmanship skills are average at best.

His proudest invention and pièce de résistance is Archiverous, affectionately referred to as Archie. A mechanical spider that stands at around 1 and a half feet tall, and 2 feet in diameter. Imbued with magic to give him his own consciousness. Archie contains a small turret within his abdomen which can be deployed at will. He can only hold 40 bullets for his turret at any one time, although Edgar keeps a couple of spare ammo clips for Archie, which when thrown to him, has the appearance of him eating the ammo clip whole. When Edgar is on the move, Archie commonly latches on to Edgar’s back, his front legs over Edgar’s shoulders and his back 3 sets of legs wrapped around Edgars torso. Due to constraints of engineering, Archie’s turret is unusable while attached to Edgar’s back in this fashion.

Short Bio: Edgar grew up within an Aristocratic family. From a young age he was fascinated with mechanical engineering, and began tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. Although he still kept hold of his aristocratic lifestyle, with his diplomatic personality and a taste for the finer things such as Cigars and Whiskey, many of his high class peers find his love for engineering peculiar. After hearing a radio broadcast about help needed for a voyage on a Nebular Class Battleship, he decided to see if they would be interested in having him, as in all his life, he has never really had any adventures.

My thought is the spider comes up to about knee height and is about 2 feet in diameter. I wanted it to have a mind of it's own and function as a pet aswell as a piece of equipment, and one of the other thoughts I've had is that a lot of the time it would stay on my character's back with it's front legs over his shoulders and it's 3 sets of back legs going under his arms and wrapping around his torso. Anyway, I'm working on a character sheet now.
I want my character to be a sort of engineer/tinkerer style thing, perhaps with some magic imbued into his creations. The idea I have currently is that he has a pet in the form of a mechanical spider, which can deploy a small turret from its back. Would that be acceptable?
I have an interest in this. My problem is I'm not sure I know enough about steampunk. I mean, I get the basic ideas behind it, but I should probably do a little research on it.
If you are unfamiliar with the book series, please do not let that scare you off. My plan is all original characters anyway.

I wish to create a roleplay based upon my favourite book series, 'Gone' by Michael Grant. Set in a small beach town of Perdido Beach, California, everyone over the age of 15 suddenly and without warning disappears, and a sphere of energy covers the town, leaving the youngsters trapped inside. Not only this, but some of them start to develop powers. Invisibility, Telekinesis, super speed and any other (more interesting) powers you can think of. In 1995, 20 years before the present day and the events of the roleplay, a meteor hit just outside of perdido beach and punched a cavern deep into the ground. Is it just a coincidence, that the cavern is just about right in the middle of the 20 mile diameter sphere that now covers the town?

For the roleplay I'm going to up the age of disappearance to 21, and have original characters to fill the book's setting. (If you're familiar with the books and wish to play a character from the books, I'd allow it, just you might consider upping the age a bit).
In Perdido Beach there are two schools (well, three, including the Elementary school), Perdido Beach High School, and Coates Academy. Perdido Beach High School is as you'd expect, the high school for residents of Perdido Beach. Coates Academy is a private boarding school, set up for troublesome young people. However, not everyone who is an antagonist has to start at Coates, and not everyone who starts at Coates has to be an antagonist.

As mayhem and chaos takes place throughout Perdido Beach without adult guidance, drugs, alcohol, and sex (timeskipped of course, sticking with the sites rules) will all be allowed. And as the more ambitious residents of the new Perdido Beach struggle for power and control, a much darker evil than any Coates Academy student lurks in the depths of the meteor’s cavern…

I’m sure there’s a few things I missed out, but I’m really unsure if anyone will have any interest in this, due to my feeling the book series isn’t that well known, and I’m not going to put hours of effort into an interest check for something I’m 80% sure won’t take off. But, if there’s enough interest, I’ll get more details and get this fully fleshed out.

The vocals: Meh. The instrumental: Yeah.

I think it's kind of unfair to post up a full album up in here, no one is gonna sit and listen to the full thing. And you're meant to give a rating out of 10 to the song before. Saying that I'm gonna do the guy above you instead.

Nice song. whats the guy go by now a days anyway. 8/10

and because i can enjoy

I like fall out boy, old fall out boy, but I cannot stand this new stuff. I don't know, it's just too different from the fall out boy I grew up with, songs like Grand Theft Autumn and Sugar We're going down. That's fall out boy to me. But this song? 2/10, can't stand it.

@LHG100 perhaps it being super extendable is a good idea. I'm floating a few different power ideas in my mind. I'm a bit indecisive, y'see.
