Crown Prince Rowan Jameson of Thirmos
" I do not see why man should not be just as cruel as nature." -Adolf HitlerNickname
The Heartless, The damned King
Loyalty
In his mind, contained within the romanticized opinion he has of himself, his loyalty is to his father and his kingdom, although in truth, he cares more for himself than about any of his subjects.
In Depth Appearance
Rowan stands at around 6”2, with broad shoulders being the most immediate sign of his muscular frame. His body bears the scars of a few battles, the most glaring being a missing index finger on his left hand. His hair and eyes are both a dark brown. Rowan is always dressed in either one of two ways, his armour, worn for when he is out annexing new towns and villages for the kingdom, and occasionally for public appearances. His other form of dress, is expensive regalia befitting of a prince, adorned with Medals that in many ways he never deserved to receive.

Personality
Rowan has a romanticized view of royalty, himself and his place as future King. He sees his Kingdom and the growth of its wealth as the most important thing to him. He sees himself as a conqueror, a King who does not simply sit in a chair and give orders, but as one who leads an army into unclaimed land, and seizes it for the kingdom. The problem is there isn’t much unclaimed land left, so he’s taken to travelling to small villages and towns, demanding the people there pledge their allegiance to the kingdom, pay taxes, and offer their men as soldiers, allowing them to set up military strongholds for the kingdom.
Rowan believes that he is entitled to whatever he desires, and if he has to will take it by force. Although he is betrothed to the Princess of Sevaviel, this has not stopped him from sleeping with whatever woman he damn well pleases, sometimes more than one at a time, and fairly often without the poor girls consent. However, he only behaves this way outside the walls of the Kingdom’s capital, when he is travelling with his men to expand the Kingdom.
Inside the walls of the Kingdom he holds himself will all the dignity and pride that is expected of Royalty, although his ideals of Aggressive expansion are well known throughout the Kingdom.
His true personality lies beyond all that, and when it comes down to it, he is simply an impatient, self entitled, egotistic, power hungry and bloodthirsty brat, who secretly can’t wait for his father to die so the crown can be passed to him.
Background
One of Rowan’s earliest memories is that of a Royal Tutor teaching him what his future as King would entail. The most prominent memory of this was being shown a map, “This area in blue,” the tutor said, “is all the land the Kingdom Of Thirmos rules.” And Rowan remembers the question he asked. “And why do we not rule the rest of these lands?”
“Well, the rest of these lands are ruled by the Kingdoms of Sevaviel, the land in green belonging to them, and the land in red belongs to the Kingdom Of Cylla. Anything not within those boundaries are outliers, not part of any one Kingdom.” His tutor had told him.
“Surely, it would be best for all the land to be united under one kingdom.”
“Well, yes, perhaps it would, but this is simply how it is, Rowan.”
Rowan never accepted this. He never accepted the fact there would be other kings, other kingdoms. He thought they should all be united under one ruler, his father, and one day himself. This ambition to conquer followed him for the rest of his life. At the age of 20, he convinced his father to allow him to travel to lands not governed by any Kingdom, and begin claiming them for Thirmos, often through intimidation and occasionally by bloodshed.
6 years later, Rowan has claimed many parts of the outlying land for Thirmos, and to this day he finds himself looking back at the map from his childhood, and comparing it to a map of the present day, proud of his accomplishments in growing the Kingdom’s blue boundaries.
Extra
The people of Thirmos refer to him as 'The Damned King' because although he is not King yet, many believe that when he ascends to the throne his reckless and power hungry ways will throw the kingdom into disarray.
