My name is Mae, and ohsnapcakes was the first username I ever used on a RP forum back in the day. I've used it for countless other things since, but it feels so right to have it attached to something like this again.
I'll be honest, I never thought I'd be making an introduction post on a roleplay forum ever again. But, I'm so happy to be doing it.
I started my RP journey on Neopets, about twenty years ago. Oh wow. I was just a kid, but I had always loved writing and quickly took to the play-by-post style! I am 31 now, with three kids of my own. My oldest is nearing the age I was when I started, and it's hard to believe I was writing six, seven, eight paragraph posts just a couple of years later. Absolutely blows my mind.
I have found myself lost in motherhood, and when I search my mind for hobbies I used to enjoy, RPing is the first thing that I think of. I tried to satisfy that with picking up where I left off writing what I hope to be a novel one day. However, I would be lying if I said I didn't sort of crave this play-by-post style. I love bouncing creativity off of other people, rather than feeling stuck in what I can do alone.
I used to do a lot of wolf RP, in fact I believe that is exactly where I started on Neopets. I dabbled in other forms of fantasy RP, Harry Potter (particularly Marauders era,) teenage/highs school...I am excited to dive into some new ones, and maybe revisit some old.
