@Holy Grail There are 10 accepted mages and 10 accepted familiars I do believe. once we get 12 mages and 12 familiars we won't be accepting any more cs' at this time. this isn't to say that its first come first serve. It's if we approve of your cs first. Right now we're looking over and discussing 4 cs's right now, but don't let that discourage you from submitting your cs!
@Raijinslayer XD I think Ruby would like him just fine seeing how he's interested in guilds. And she wouldn't mind those things too much once she got used to him (though depending on how close he got to her when he surprised her in the past, she might have accidently hit him with a flailing hand or bag, but she would apologize for that). She'll be glad to have someone she feels close to now that her sister has left the school. Speaking of her sister, he can also know her if you like, since she would have been hanging out with Ruby when the two didn't have classes. If you want to do that I can give some information on Mary Jane.
Personality: Don't let Nancy's outward appearance fool you, despite looking like she wants to beat you up and steal your lunch money, Nancy's a pretty chill girl. In fact, she's the type to happily give you some baked goods that she made with a smile. Nancy can also be a bit lazy at times, and though she doesn't mind to help people out, she won't exactly be the first to jump up to help unless it's something serious. About the only place you'll see a serious Nancy is in the kitchen when she's cooking or baking as those are her passions in life.
Biography: If Nancy's family had a family crest, instead of lions or a dragon, it would have cooking utensils. That's because for as long back as any of them can remember, Nancy's family has always been cooks. About 4 generations ago, her family opened a small restaurant in the middle of Lynden and although it wasn't a 5-star restaurant by the time Nancy was born, it was a well-loved place by the locals. Nancy was taught at a young age to cook (which she quickly fell in love with) and was expected to take the restaurant over one day.
Nancy was content with going to a regular high school, figuring she didn't really need any fancy education for her magic which was starting to manifest. But in the middle of her last year of middle school, she ended up winning a cooking contest and caught the attention of a well-known and famous chef named Rasmodius. Wanting to see Nancy reach her full potential, Rasmodius offered to sponsor Nancy to go to St. Fortuna. His reasons for this was that magic grown fruits and vegetables were becoming more popular, and a cook that possessed that sort of magic would quite possibly rise in popularity quickly. Nancy still wasn't sure, though, but her parents eventually persuaded her to take Rasmodius up on his offer.
Likes: Baking, cooking, and being in the kitchen in general. She also enjoys dark goth clothing when she doesn't have to be in her uniform or in the kitchen. Also, enjoys tending to gardens. Also, coffee.
Dislikes: Work that isn't fun, food past its expiration date, mornings, long lectures.
Points:
Stats: Proficiency: 2 Intelligence:4 Athletics: 4
Misc.: Enjoys trading makeup tips with Felicity. Also suffers from resting bitch face (but she doesn’t bite, I promise). She spent her summer being tutored in the ways of cooking by Rasmodius.
What is your character's dream career? Cooking in her family’s restaurant, or just cooking in general.
Your character is caught telling a lie/cheating. How do they react? Embarrassed for one thing. Then Nancy would try to explain why she did it.
Your character finds out someone close to them has been lying to them. How do they react? Nancy’s pretty forgiving and if the reason for doing so was decent she would probably forgive them quickly.
If your character were given $50, what would they do with it? If there wasn’t anything she needed right that moment, she would probably save it for when she did.
Someone close to your character gives them something very important and asks them to hold on to it until they come back. However, your character somehow loses it. What do they do? Nancy wouldn’t like it, but she’d tell the person that she lost their thing. She’d also try to do something to make it up to the person if she can, like buy them a new thing or keep looking if she’s asked to.
Your character is given the chance to perfect any one talent. What do they choose? Cooking would be her first choice, but since she’s already working on that, then it would be something she’s always been curious about. Knitting.
What is your character’s favorite book or movie genre? Why? Any other genre is fine but it has to have comedy. Because there’s nothing better in this world, whether you’re feeling up or down, than a good comedy.
Who does your character admire/look up to? Her parents for one, but also other well-known chefs.

@Lord of Evil I still don't think you understand the difference between a mage and familiar. There are people who are mages, and then there are people who are familiars. A familiar can't become a mage and vice versa. In that case, your character picking up his Mother's, who is a familiar, dream of becoming a mage doesn't really make sense.
Mages don't study to become mages. They study to control their powers. If your character's father dropped out of studying his magic, then he just wouldn't know how to use his magical element. He could have picked up magic tricks like we have (like pulling a bunny out of a hat) but that would not be true magic and that would not be related to him being a mage. Also, we're still not sure why this shattered your characters psyche to the point where he became a shut-in. Like what about finding out his dad wasn't the great and powerful mage he thought he was that lead to your character being a shut in because it sounds like there was more going on with him in that case.
I'm not sure what you're calling a great mage? Being a great mage is something anyone can do in this world if they work hard enough. It's not about having great power or saving the world. A great mage would be on par with our real world scientists and doctors. Yes, those things are hard but it's not like they're impossible.
Also, can we talk about how your character is paying for the school? What do you mean by "A half scholarship"? Scholarships don't work like that at all. You either have it or you don't. If you're trying to say he didn't get all the scholarship money required...that's not how it works either. If you got a scholarship, you're in. And even if that did work, did his parents pay for the rest? You made this sound like a bad thing but nothing ever came from it?
And one more thing about this, your character should have gotten in his first year of high school. His low proficiency wouldn't have mattered as magic and powers would only start to manifest around this time (so a low proficiency would be normal) and his physical capabilities also wouldn't have mattered. Your character has the highest intelligence score right now and characters with a lower score have gotten in with a scholarship. There would be no half scholarship with him. If he was as smart as you say he is, then he would have gotten a scholarship no problem.
