A few months ago, I started a Naruto RP that, sadly, died like many others I've seen. But that hasn't stopped me from wanting to RP in the Naruto World, so I'm going to try again! This time, a little differently.

In the world of shinobi and kunoichi, peace has been a staple point in the world's history. Konohagakure, one of the greatest villages to be created, has been one of the headsmen of the worldwide peace, and relationships between said villages have been relatively well. Missions are flowing in at a steady pace for all villages, funding for different events and exams is going well, and the world was generally average...boringly average, some might even say, but happy. However, recently, things in the background has been going on, festering just underneath the surface. Unrest. Not too bad for now, but enough for Kages to take notice. Clashing and scuffles have been recorded between differing villages and an unknown organization. Missing-nin are becoming more rampant, and tensions are high...and no one knows how this all started, or from where this new enemy emerged. Regardless, Genin from every village are being trained harder for the undeniable fights in the future, more dangerous missions are flowing in, and every Kage has decided to take the kiddie gloves off. Will you be ready to fight alongside your peers and protect the leaf?

A bit more information will be given in the OOC once we start to get some interest. For now, this is all you need to know:

This Roleplay, set in the time during Naruto's time as Hokage, is going to be all about the real life of a true Ninja. Those who join will get to roleplay as Genin, Chunin, and Jonin who are going to work together and complete missions, train and hone their skills, and do all the other things real ninja do. (Including breaks for Ramen!)  This roleplay will be heavily focused on Character Development and Interaction, as the Genin will get to know what it's like to work in a team as well as go on missions and work on training exercises. This RP will take place in an Alternate Universe of sorts, located in the Hidden Leaf Village. With a new and different enemy that will be encountered later on, the Genin will slowly be able to grow and complete missions that are harder and longer, and could take days IC wise to complete. Some missions will be considered 'plot movers' in which squads may team up or go out and do a mission that reveals new information about the new evil organization.

The goal for this *hopefully* long-lasting RP is to, ultimately, have fun and enjoy what you write. Challenge yourself and your characters and make this a great experience for everyone involved. That being said, I will be looking for writers who are capable of a high-casual standard of writing. My only way to judge that is based on the amount of effort and such put into your character sheets.

Combat: While combat isn’t the most important aspect of Naruto it certainly plays a huge role. Though, unlike the canon series, combat is much more difficult in a role-play. Instead of one mind deciding how things should go, in a role-play there multiple minds; multiple minds flinging totally different ideas and outcomes. While ultimately up to the players to determine the outcome and results of combat, keep in mind it has to make sense. Something very important to note right off the bat is that Shinobi are still human. Yes, human; humans with physical capabilities that surpass that of your average Joe. Humans nonetheless, meaning you won’t be completely throwing physics out the window. There are still important factors to consider such as timing, distance, power, and so on. For example, if you’re swinging a sword at an opponent then you’re likely to leave an opening somewhere. An opening that may be very difficult to defend given your current position, an opening your opponent may be able to exploit. Remember; giving your fellow role-player an opening and chances to hit you is a reasonable thing to do. As well, remain detailed in your actions. That way it causes fewer arguments and allows combat to remain smooth and fair.

Remember also that there is such thing as Specialization. For example, Rock Lee specialized in Taijutsu. If he were to get in a fight with someone who does not focus on that, they would not be evenly matched. Also, chakra consumption exists so dont think you can just spam jutsu to make up for that. There is a point when you have to say, "OK, I did well but my character is not equipped to beat this one." And that is OK!

Training: There are a few reasons why somebody should invest time and effort in training their character. Next to the most logical reason is that they want their characters to grow and become stronger, you need to ask yourself the question if that is the only reason for training your character. Isn't it also interesting to show that your character is unable to grasp a certain field or skill, making them still learn (thus develop and grow) from it? How?

Very simple : knowing what their talent's are. While everybody has a particular amount of talent, one shouldn't forget that having a skill in all the fields can be frowned upon and that training is also a way to show that you're willing to putting effort into making your character grow. Next to that, another important reason is fun!

Training ideas: Cliff Climbing Practice Water Surface Walking Practice Leaf Concentration Practice Tree Climbing Practice in addition to anything your Jonin suggests. :) Also, if at any time you feel your Jonin is not being fair and helping oyu out as they should, contact one of the GMs to get it fixed.

D-rank - assigned to genin fresh from the Academy. They pose almost no risk to the ninja's life and usually consist of odd jobs like farming and babysitting work. The reward for a D-rank mission is between five thousand and fifty thousand ryō.

C-rank - assigned to more experienced genin or chūnin. They are missions with little to no chance of combat against other ninja.[1] Examples are guarding people against bandits or highwaymen, background investigations, eliminating or capturing bandits or thieves, and capturing or suppressing wild animals. The reward for a C-rank mission is between thirty thousand and 100 thousand ryō.

B-rank - assigned to experienced chūnin. They are missions anticipated to involve combat with other ninja. Examples are guarding people, espionage, or killing other ninja. The reward for a B-rank mission is between 150 thousand and 200 thousand ryō.

A-rank - assigned to jōnin, concerning, among other things, village-or state-level matters and trends. Examples are guarding VIPs or suppressing ninja forces. The reward for an A-rank mission is between one hundred fifty thousand and a million ryō.

S-rank - assigned to experienced jōnin and concern state-level confidential matters. Examples are assassinating VIPs, and transporting highly classified documents. The reward for an S-rank mission is more than a million ryō.

Genin (下忍; Literally meaning "low ninja", Meaning (Viz) "junior ninja") are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in power. When they become genin, ninja start to do their bit for their village's economy – being sent on missions that the village gets paid for. They are typically sent either on D-rank missions, which are almost entirely risk-free jobs of manual labour, or, rarely, on C-rank missions, which are a cut above that and begin to verge on real "ninja" work that have a very low possibility of risk to the ninja involved. However, they can be conscripted as part of the war potential in times of emergency, such as was the case as in the First Shinobi World War.

Starting Genins often know around six jutsu (2 C ranked and 4 D ranked at max) and just one element (unless they have KG, but remember that a KG can limit your growth!). The traits and skills of a genin are often low, seeing they need to train and/or begin their career as a true ninja.

Limit : 3 good traits at start ( Special - Very high - High - Very good- Good - average - bad - worse etc.)
Limit techs : No B or higher ranked techniques. A total of 8 combat techniques would be enough. Maybe a limit of 2 non combat and 1 clone technique at it. (Still making a total of 11.)

Promote? Chuunin Exam or doing enough number of missions that the Kage is willing to promote it. This involves the Kage to ask it from the GM's and if the majority agrees, the promotion will happen.

Promotion can be gained in several manners. The promotion from Genin to Chunin can be easily done through the Chunin exam or else having done enough missions. However, it is a bit trickier to become a specialized or full fledged jonin. This requires one to gain the personal permission of the leader(s). Next to that, skill in battle isn't all what it takes to become a jonin. A (specialized) jonin are regarded as officers or higher ranked personnel.

Having a simple strong brute leading them can lead in devastating defeats, meaning that jonin are people who have been trained or at least know the drills and ways of leading others. Failing in doing so can lead into demotion, which can be done with the proper reason. Such as failing miserably due not leading the forces in the proper way (thus doing almost no leading when it is required).

Chūnin (中忍; Literally meaning "Middle Ninja", Meaning (Viz) "Journeyman Ninja") are ninja who are qualified to guide other ninja and lead missions. Chūnin have reached a level of maturity and ability that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess. Genin who do not have the skills to become chūnin are weeded out in the chūnin exams. To become a chūnin, a genin participates in a large examination, known as the "Chūnin Exams" or else have completed a good number of missions to be granted a promotion for good service by their leader.

Chunins are more experienced and based on their performance and amount of training, can have more jutsu, traits and skills. Some chuunins who train a lot or having been doing a lot of missions, gaining enough experience, have gained a second Nature Element.

Non-experienced (fresh) chunin 
- A limit of 10 combat techniques, still none higher than B ranked.

Tokubetsu Jōnin (特別上忍, Tokubetsu Jōnin; English TV "Special Jōnin"; Literally meaning "Special High Ninja"; sometimes known as Tokujō for short) are ninja who, rather than all-around jōnin training, have jōnin-level ability in a specific area or skill, much like warrant officers in real-world military. They are elite specialists in their areas and are often assigned as subordinates to regular jōnin when their services are needed.

Tobestu Jounin have their field where they are true experts, like on the same level as most Jounin. They often have good traits and some have even three elemental chakra natures, together with strong jutsu.

-Non elemental-KG users can develop one more chakra nature. However as a third nature, it will take work and training to ''stabilize'' it. Meaning they can't use better than C ranked techniques for third nature. However, they will not go higher as C ranked, while if the user has done enough training and put enough effort in it, they can put the limit of their secondary techniques that they can have a limit of 3 B ranked techniques.

Personality: Kyoko is not that hard of a person to understand. She's not mysterious or closed off, rather she is an open book. She is never afraid to speak her mind and hardly keeps secrets. She believes that knowledge and information is not to be kept for some people and not others and is a firm believer in protecting those who cannot protect themselves. Kyoko is kind enough, not overly friendly but not a pain to be around. Her voice and demeanor might come across as gentle and overall not very threatening, but she often surprises people with her fierceness. She can be quite the stubborn person, in that she doesn't easily let somebody persuade her, as she is the kind of person that first wants to see something with her own eyes before believing it. Though she doesn't judge people for their belifs or what others say, she judges strongly based on actions. And if she disagrees with somebody, she let's them know it, though not to a point where she doesn't follow rules or instructions of her superiors. She sometimes speaks in a crude manner, using curse words to emphasize her points, resulting in mixed reactions from people. On the other hand, she is normally a kind enough and an open minded person. Wise, though a tad bit young at heart at times, she is someone who would make for a good person to talk to, about anything.

History: Kyoko was born in Kumogakure and lived there for the first 16 years of her life. She lived with her parents who were head of the Suzumori clan, one of the most powerful and influential clans living in the Hidden Cloud. There, she trained under her parents to master the art of Lightning Release and learned how to utilize her KG in the most effective way. She had only a few friends growing up who were the students of her Mother (since she was a squad leader) and they were also Lightning Release users, thus she often trained with them. She was never the greatest ninja, and her parents knew that by the time she was 16. She had still been just a Genin at the time, and thus she was looked down on by her parents and the rest of her clan as a failure.

Due to this, her parents and other clan leaders decided to send her off to Konoha, telling her it was her new position as ambassador to their clan. She accepted this, though knowing in her heart that they simply didn't want to be bothered with her anymore. She kept her heart and mind open about the move, though deep down she felt more sad than she'd ever in her life. At just 16 in a new village, she was afraid but managed to keep her emotions hidden. She was assigned to a Squad, but found that she didn't really mesh well with working in a team since she'd trained all her life to work alone and rely on her own skills. She struggled for a long time, trying to find her place in this new village and was about to give up and ask to be returned home, but Tsunade, noticing her struggle, decided to take Kyoko under her wing and teach her the ways of a medical ninja.

After she trained with Tsunade, she learned more about her role in a team and slowly was able to adapt and fit into proper Squads. This all aided in her growth as a kunoichi, and she learned more in her past ten years than she did during her time in Kumo. She raised through the ranks to Jonin status and now she is the team leader of Squad 13.

Description: A simple sword Kyoko uses in tangent with some of her lightning style jutsu. The metal of the sword is a great conductor of the Suzumori's lightning chakra, and it turns a light purple when she channels her chakra into it.

Special Traits: 

Kyoko has a unique fighting style that combines kenjutsu with a style that resembles kickboxing, something she picked up during her time living in Kumo. She has great stamina and often pushes past her body's limits while training and sparring with others since she has a high tolerance for pain. She has average strength which she makes stronger by using chakra to enhance her hits, often surprising those who perceive her as a frail woman. Along with being quick on her feet and having good reflexes, she has a sharp mind when it comes to some things, though her ways of handling situations are perhaps a bit unorthodox. She has a high chakra pool and advanced control of it. When in combat (and in some cases out of combat) she can be unpredictable, playing on people's initial assumption that she is weak.

Kekkei Genkai: Komurasaki - Suzumori clan

Traits/Abilities of Kekkei Genkai: This is a physical Kekkei Genkai that manifests itself in the coloration, shape and nature of the chakra within the body of a Suzumori. Rather than the typical blue or rare black lightning chakra colors, the chakra of a Suzumori is a deep purple. In addition to this, the shape of the chakra when visible is a bit different. It appears similar to the wild sparks of normal lightning chakra, but around the edges there are purple flames emanating from the sparks that give off intense heat. This is further confirmed when one is hit with a jutsu. Even after the sparks of the chakra fade, purple flames can burn the enemy, causing further damage. The chakra when can be very dangerous, even to the clan member. Thus, special arm gloves are worn that protect against the intense heat of the chakra.

Appearance: 

Momo carries most of her equipment and tools in a small backpack or hip pouch. Her larger items or ones used for Jutsu are carried in a giant scroll that is held by a strap to her back. Momo's typical gear consists of a pink shirt under a black vest that is paired with a grey pair of pants and pink sandals. Often times she wears her hair up in a ponytail, and her bangs clipped to the side along with her pink forhead protector used more like a headband. She is short and most people are surprised by how much energy she has. Her build is skinny with light muscle and she has hardly any kind of bust or hip definition, giving her a tomboyish look.

Personality: Personality: Momo is confident and outgoing, quite fun to be around if one has a sense of humor. Momo has never been afraid to speak her mind for fear of hurting someone’s feelings and she isn’t above tossing a snarky remark or two when/if the situation calls for it. The majority of her repertoire consists of sarcastic comments or jokes accompanied by a sardonic smirk or raising of an eyebrow. She has been called cold more than a few times, but only because has extremely selective empathy, being that she cannot bring herself to understand the ridiculous reasons which cause a great deal of upset and alarm to most people. She’s quite determined and headstrong when it comes to accomplishing tasks. Despite all appearances, Momo is not always as carefree as she seems, and has a completely different side when she is alone, a more pained side that she keeps hidden from many. For her own reasons. Despite this, she has no problem making friends as she enjoys the company of others every once in a while. She's not reckless, but wont back down from a challenge just because she thinks her opponent has an advantage.

History:  Momo was raised without knowing the pain or grim world that was outside the walls of the village, born to a loving pair of well known shinobi. Though she wished to become a kunoichi, her parents wouldn't let her attend and go to the Academy until a later age, probably due to their own experience as shinobi. But in the end she was allowed to enter the Academy at the age of ten years old. During her time at the Academy, Momo's dream became hard to accomplish since she was bad at a lot of things, shown in many tests where she scored quite low. With scoring better in other fields such as target practice and general studies, it became clear that she would need focus more on the things she was good at.

She had some success raising up her skills in taijutsu and ninjutsu, but over time became more interested in weapons and ninja tools. After learning from her parents that her fascination could lead her in a different path and also bring success, she decided to pursue it and began to focus more on Bukijutsu and Fuinjutsu, learning how to aquire and seal different weapons. She became good at this, really good. 

She finally managed to graduate the Academy with flying colors, having improved her skills thru training with her parents and spending long hours devoted to her studies. Now she is to be assigned to a team for the first time.
