Intro Questions: Who are you: I'm Mika Toriyami. I'm a freelance mercenary. If you need a monster gone, I'm your woman. If you live on the streets, I do it free of charge.

How long have you been in the city?: Born and raised here for twenty five years of my life.

]How did you become a hunter: Monsters started preying upon me and my gang, they thought because we were from the street that we'd make disposable meals. I showed them wrong. Now I've taken it upon myself to keep them out of my home town.

Prey: I go after bloodsucking vampires. I've never met one I didn't despise in some way, even the so called "tragic" ones. But if the pay's good and the monster is muckin' things up for the rest of us I can hunt them.

What are their strengths and weaknesses: Their strengths is that they have inhuman strength, dexterity and are annoyingly resilient. They got mind control too and can heal themselves with your blood. Some of them can even shape shift and turn into the forms of hideous beasts. Their blood is addicting and they often have blood-addled minions

The trick however is they are terrified of fire, can't go out in the day because the sun roasts them. They need to ask permission to enter your home and lastly, they are affected by religious iconography. If you stake them in the heart they can no longer move. So just hit them where it hurts when they don't expect it.

What terrible thing have you done to even the playing field: One thing about their blood is it also imbues you with a portion of their strength, which has made me a stronger, more resilient and fast fighter. The unfortunate side is I need to drink their blood on a daily basis or I suffer the mother of all withdrawal

Fortunately I have a poor staked fella kept in an unmarked warehouse, I've sustained myself off his blood for now.
How are you like them: That feeling of Us Vs Them, I've found that they fear me as a predator in the same way that I fear them. Also...I've found that I've become hungry and hedonistic in the same way that they are, hungry for food, hungry for excess, hungry for life.

I'm thinking of playing this katana wielding hunter woman that protects the youth of the streets from depredation by supernatural creatures, and she is something of a cool older sister to them

It could be a copy-cat killer too, if we need a twist.

A question I have is how traumatized should I have her be vs how professional. Since too much and it doesn't make sense for the character to be working, and if it's too little it runs into the problem you mentioned earlier where the trauma is being ignored ooc-ly

I imagine she used to be a very happy go lucky Legally Blonde kind of gal but afterwards it forced her to mature and a more withdrawn, reserved person. She lost a lot of good friends and now has trouble finding new ones, and she would've went through a few years of therapy until she was functional enough to be in public again.

The killer was still at large and one of the reasons she went into law enforcement was to track them down, but by the time she had entered her career the case had become cold, she hit a brick wall in the investigation and was simply had to settle with the fact that sometimes, terrible things happen to you and never get resolved. So she tries to help other people instead.

As for quirks. She sleeps with a firearm under her pillow, has a heavy distaste for blood and violence. Has to take medication and see a therapist on sundays. It has definitely effected her life in a significant way, though I know she's also apart of a professional team and would have to have some level of stoicism to simply keep working efficiently.
