Morris: CircusLute watched as a group of people worked together to pry their friend out of the cart, and the growing unease in his chest flared up tenfold. Normally rides like these would be assigned to the cheerful attendants so the people going in would feel less scared than they should be, but the gloomy expression on the clownâs face did nothing for Lute. If that wasnât enough, what few made up the line scattered and the three of them advanced to the front, where they were promptly ushered and strapped into the carts. He started to regret agreeing to Lucienâs dare.
âHey, nothing
bad happens inside, right?â The virtuoso asked the clown as he locked them in on the ride. The attendant gave him a blank stare and didnât answer the question until the ride finally started rolling into the tunnel which portended nothing but darkness and terror.
Once inside the tunnel, Lute and Delilah perked up. The familiar didnât care much for novelties like these and would prefer seeing Lute scared shitless, but she figured she could lend out a helping hand just this once. Chilling laughter came in from the inner bowels of the tunnel and the virtuoso focused on that area, half-expecting a giant worm to careen out of the darkness and gobble them up. He could barely even hear Trixie whispering beside him.
"EEEEHEHEHEH!"A blinding flash of light burst on Luteâs blind side and he turned to look, heart hammering away in his chest, when somebody suddenly let out a banshee scream and latched onto him. âOh Gods, oh no, get off! Ack! Tâway with you! TâWAY!â Lute shrieked, both at his unknown assailant and that huge ghost, and flailed about, rocking the cart back and forth, âDONâT GOUGE MY EYES OUT THEYâRE MY BEST FEATURE!â
As the ghost faded back into the darkness the virtuoso realized (with no small help from Delilah) that it was Trixie who was covering his eyes and awkwardly reached up to tap her arm. âWeâre fine, haha⊠Oh fudgecakes,â He laughed weakly as their ride continued chugging on, because it seemed like the room temperature had dropped a few notches not to mention that that awful creepy laugh was back again.
