@Medusa He is a reflection of myself irl to be honest.
I suffer from the some of his ailments, am unmedicated and yet i lead a normal life. In the CS i mentioned that he enjoys the simpler things in life. There is a reason for this. As of now all he knows is he is outside in the middle of the day with some strangers who seem as confused as he is. He is smart enough to understand himself and has dealt with these problems so long that he has developed his own little ways of controlling them. (which is how i maintain personally)
It's just the first post. He wouldn't have chosen to introduce himself had he seen any other option. What should he have done? Ran? That would have only succeeded in tiring him out and stranding him alone. Remain silent? For someone else maybe that would have worked but Ralph knows he's too intelligent not to at least attempt to figure things out on a step by step basis. As of now he sees no immediate danger, only confusion.
Like i said previously, this is only the first post. Trust me, if i have the opportunity to show you all who Ralph is then hopefully you will understand. He will unravel, eventually. He has barriers up to sustain his mental health but they won't last. Character development is important to me and i will delve deeper into his mental state over time.
Just as irl with my own mental health issues, most people i meet would not guess that i suffer from depression and social anxiety. It's in this way that Raphael is modeled after myself.
Raphael seldom had trouble falling to sleep but this night was different. He assumed it was because of the excitement he would experience the next day. Everything was in place; his mother had prepared her meals, his coworkers would have the office space decorated for the occasion and even his young daughter had been given the task of screaming “CONGRATULATIONS” when he returned home. So why was he having so much trouble sleeping? One could guess that blame belonged to his meticulous nature, but he had gone over all the details time and again and everything was in place. Coming to this conclusion he attempted to rest once again, the fatigue making his eyes heavy, the excitement making his mind spin.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed but he soon found himself staring blankly at the wall, the sound of his television barely audible and his sleep ever elusive. Shaking himself, he stood from his bed and glanced around his room. A stiff stretch and dragging steps brought him to his desk where a bit of his reading material sat. He took the seat in his chair and double checked the contents of his bag for the next day. He knew it was all present, he had checked twice before, but decided to look again.
Raphael couldn’t tell you when it happened, hell he wasn’t entirely sure he had ever gone to sleep, but it seemed like a split second later he was prone on his back and his eyes closed. As consciousness crept back into him a slight smile emerged onto his face. This is it. This is the day that he had planned so long and hard for. Slowly he opened his eyes and instantly knew something had gone wrong. The picture in front of him was an unfamiliar scene.
Instantly panic gripped him and he felt his pulse quicken, his breaths shallow and worried.
“Relax”, he thought to himself, unsure of what his next move should be. He began to focus on breathing, separating his lips slightly and sending his exhaling breaths through and inhaling through his nostrils. His thoughts turned to his daughter and instinctively his right hand reached for the shining silver necklace locket.
“Everything will be fine.”
Raphael sat up, dizziness threatening nausea. “Oh, what happened,” he spoke out loud in a dry rasp. When he looked up, he noticed something that almost set him off again. He wasn’t alone. No there were others and they all looked as if they were having similar experiences of confusion.
“Seven. There are seven including yourself. he thought as he scanned all the strangers. “Who are they, I wonder? Why are we all here?
He eyed them all with a sharp eye as he noticed his bag lying next to him and pulled it closer. He wasn’t sure what to do next but think logically and so he stood and uneasily addressed the others.
“Hey, I’m Ralph. I don’t recognize any of you, except her.” He said quietly as he pointed to the Spanish looking lady. He knew he had seen her face in various places when spending time with his girlfriend and daughter. Maybe a magazine or runway show? “So, I’m very confused as to why I am here. Does anyone want to answer that?”
Physique: Muscular frame formed from many years at the forge. His raw strength proves as much and his tall stature finishes off a spectacularly intimidating build.
General Hygiene: Kifo purposefully keeps up an appearance of a poverty ridden man. Soot, ash, and dirty finger nails help provide a picture of a man who works hard and long to survive. On the other hand, when the occasion calls, he cleans up nicely. In very little time he can cast the illusion of being noble born or someone of equal importance.
Notable marks/scars and how they were obtained: A two inch scar across his right cheek formed by a dagger many years prior. Improper care has left the mark distinguished. Various burns and scars amongst his hands earned from forging. Twin dagger design branded onto the back of his right shoulder with a border written in some long forgotten language.
-- Demeanor:
Kifo is composed and calculating. He swiftly assesses those he meets, listening to their choice of words, their body movements and tone of voice. While not outright unfriendly, he isn’t the type of man to completely open up and converse with people he does not deem “friends”. Most people he meets, however, take an extreme liking to him. Kifo considers life to be a fleeting and unavoidably uncomfortable. The people he most closely associates with have taught him to think of life as a plague and death is the only cure.
.:. History .:.
Kifo’s early life wasn’t anything spectacular or out of the ordinary. He is the second born out of four children total and he parents were simple innkeepers who probably hadn’t had an adventurous day in their life, at least as far as Kifo was concerned. He and his older sister, Rayne, who was his parents’ favorite though they would never admit it, developed a strong bond as the two oldest siblings. He helped her develop fun ways to complete her chores around the inn and she in turn brought him out into the open world while she searched for precious stones or met with friends. It was her who first place a bow in his hands and he hasn’t placed it down since.
After returning to town from one such expedition the two discovered their parents’ inn ablaze. Despite the obvious danger and against the wishes of the small crowd forming, the two rushed inside to discover their youngest sibling slain and the other missing. Hearing screams they rushed towards the sound just in time to see a figure cloaked in shadow slice their mother’s neck and another plunged a small sword into their father’s heart before vanishing through an open window. The two fled and never looked back.
It was during this time that Rayne explained that their parents’ inn was actually a way station for a secret order of assassins to whom they belonged. After seeking shelter amongst them, Rayne and Kifo were accepted as full-fledged members and trained in the art of assassination. Kifo picked up blacksmithing as his chosen cover and has been traveling, completing assignments, and forging for locals until the dragon arrived.
.:. Contacts .:.
Rayne Haraka – beloved sister who taught him the basics of archery and watched over him after their parents’ murders. He hasn’t seen her in two years’ time since she moved higher into the ranks and has been utilized in faraway lands.
Kylion Haraka – brother and third born who has been missing since the attack on the inn. Presumed dead.
Riko Haraka – sister and youngest child who was found slain after the attack. Her youthful innocence kept a smile on Kifo’s face and he often returns to that place when he feels upset.
Helena Haraka – mother and innkeeper/assassin. She taught her children to love and protect each other with a full heart and how to read people’s intentions based off of their demeanor. Died at the hands of rival assassins.
Yolarn Haraka – father and innkeeper/assassin. A man of few words, Yolarn spent his parenthood instructing his children on the meaning and value of hard work. To never expect thing easily and if obtained easily to never expect them to last. Died at the hands of rival assassins.
Glen Marbick – Kifo’s handler during his training in the assassin order. Glen helped fill the shoes left vacant by Kifo’s father’s untimely death. A good friend and accomplice to Kifo’s parents, Glen has kept a watchful eye on Rayne and Kifo over the years. Currently resides in Tempur City.

.:. Dragon .:.
Dragon Rider: All Riders share an intimate link with their dragon which allows telepathic communication. They also possess the listed effects and abilities.
>> Ageless: No longer physically ages, unless they choose to.
>> Magic: All Riders are capable of utilizing ‘The Song’, but because of this link to their dragons Riders can tap upon their dragons well of magic, allowing them to access spells that are impossible for non-Riders.
>> Increased Attributes: As Riders and Dragon mature and their link grows stronger the Rider takes on aspects of not only of the dragons personality, but physically as well such as tough skin, cat eyes, etc. As a rider progresses in age their body also adapts to The Song, this manifests as strange colored markings on the face and hands that glow when The Song is embraced, this glow is the same color as the Riders Dragon.
*All of a Riders abilities are a direct reflection of Age, the older the Dragon and Rider, the more powerful the abilities become. More, specific abilities may be acquired as well.
