It's all looking good, can't wait to see what Phoenix comes up with.
Sorry I didn't get it up last night, but It's there now and I look forward to whomever has the next one.
Kallen and his company arrived at the castle shortly after the sun's heavily drooping eye had fallen closed beyond the horizon. The stable hands made their way to the group of men very shortly after they'd dismounted and began leading the tired horses to a well earned warm pile of hay and a drinking trough.

Kallen, with Reindolous at his side looked over the assembled men. It was a somewhat mixed group, hardened veterans recommended by Reindolous made up a part of them, but many of them, despite being at the top of their class and marked as promising by their superior officers, had been nearly as new to combat as Kallen had been, with this incursion into battle being the first time they'd bloodied their blades.

Kallen Addressed them:

"All of you fought well. You've honored your families and your Kingdom, your King and your Kin. Most of all though, you've honored me. It's been a pleasure fighting at your side men, and one I see no reason to end. I know that this was to be a simple incursion mission, but as of today, you are all being reassigned from your individual units and ranks, and being formed into a new cohort: The Wind Dragons.

Together we will make our enemies flee at the sight of our Banner. I will command you personally when available, with Reindolous assuming that position when matters of state call me elsewhere, as well as overseeing your training and tactics. As for now, go home and rest, you've earned it."

There was a cheer from the men, and with that, Kallen and Reindolous departed toward the castle entrance. As the walked, Reindolous with a smirk on his face said "If you were as good with a blade as you are making speeches, there wouldn't be a man in all the realms who could stand against you."

Together they made their way into the castle and were about to depart for their own rooms when one of the palce messengers came up and said to them. "His Highness the King requested that both of you make your way to his chambers whenever you made it back for a full report, no matter how late the hour, and specified that we should "Pull you out of your beds, and off of anyone in them" if we had to. Though I think that last part was meant in jest..."

Kallen's eyes widened and he masked a laugh as a cough at the last part. His face slightly red. That was certainly his father. The man might be the King, might be one of the greatest rulers that the Kingdom had ever seen, as well as one of it's best warriors, but damned if he didn't still have the sense of humor of a Tavern Regular.

Kallen nodded and bid the messenger to depart before sharing a glance with Reindolous. The older man was smiling as well, he'd known the king since before Kallen had been born, and knew exactly what he was like. Together they walked down the hall and toward the Royal Chambers.

Thanks! Will have a post up by this evening.
I'm back you guys! Sorry. First week back from winter break can be hectic. I can have something up if not tomorrow then on Saturday most likely.
Still around, still with arms able to post when ready.
@ArenaSnow

Don't just be a passive consumer, step in and join the fun! Unless Cuddle, or the rest of the group object, I say we could always use another poster willing to help breath life into this story.
Well, it wasn't as long as I would have liked, but here's something up. After next week I'll be a lot less busy and I'll be able to post more and longer things.

Oh, and someone should probably make sure that Athinar is still playing.
"For all that is good and holy, Kal! You could have been killed! Whatever happened to you?"

Reindlous stood looking over Kal with a worried expression. As far as he could tell what had happened, those infernal Yelb had passed something to Kal and he's ended up on the ground convulsing. He'd feared they'ed somehow poisoned him, or worse, used some treacherous sorcery. Reindolous had a very strong dislike of magic. He knew it had it's uses, but he'd seen scrawny mages roast men three times their size in their full plate armor, and didn't trust anything that could give a man that kind of power.

Now though, Kal seemed to be snapping out of whatever had caused the state he'd been in. But he still refused to let go of whatever the Yelb had given him.

"I"m not dead yet Reindolous. Though at the moment I halfway wish that was the case, my head hurts so damn much." Kal said. As I said, I don't know what this is", said Kal, holding up the statuette for Reindolous to see. "But when I touched it just a minute ago I...I Saw something. Or, I guess felt would be a better word. I'm still not sure what it was, but I can't shake the feeling that it's somehow important.

Kal looked over at the Yelb, who were still standing in a huddle nearby, flanked by guards on all sides. Kal hopped up and motioned for the guards to step away and they did. Kal walked up to what he assumed was the leader, it was always a bit hard to tell when it came to the Yelb.

He held up the statuette. "What IS this thing, and why did you feel compelled to give it to me? He asked.

The Yelb, for his part looked thoughtful for a moment and then shrugged. "We have NO idea what it is. We found it in a ruin many moons ago. It...Called to us. We've carried it since then. And when we stopped close to here, we just felt like it needed to go to you. That's it."

Kal scratched his chin for a moment. It seemed like the Yelb was telling the truth. You heard stories about them. That they always seemed to know things that other people didn't, and when pressed as to how they actually obtained that knowledge, they'd just shrug and say that they didn't know.

It made some people nervous, like the soldiers right now. They'd just seen their Prince writhing around on the ground and as far as they could tell, it was the Yelb to blame for it. The Yelb themselves seemed not to notice the glares they were getting from all sides. What Kal said next would be very important in dictating what happened to them.

Sorry I didn't get something up tonight. It's finals week and I've been studying like crazy so I'm just wiped out. Don't have anything tomorrow though so it shouldn't be a problem.
