-BACKGROUND AND BIO-
"Abandoned" by their parents at an unknown age in the roughest parts of Alvina, Caleb and Llynn were lost children from the start. As a result, Caleb brought it upon himself to learn how to take good care of his younger brother, Llynn. Shouldering the responsibilities of both a brother and a father, he carried the burden of holding his brother's hand along their entire journey, even when he himself had no clue where they were to go. The pair traveled aplenty- to here, there and far, far away; their home was never in one place. Their feet scabbed, heads ached and hearts faltered. They grew up as vagabonds, stretching themselves to the limit as they struggled to make ends meet in the pitiful, measly villages they ended up in.
They continued to live like this until Caleb reached 5 summers, and Llynn: 2. At this point they were barely even alive, lying on the streets of an unknown town on disease-ridden sheets, as villagers paid them no heed. Time and time again had they been put in a situation where one of them almost gave out, both physically and mentally. Due to living life as far as they did with the lack of basic human resources, one could tell that their end was near- and with things the way they were, the brothers would have been extremely thankful for it.
...up until one fateful meeting with a mysterious, aged man who looked shadier than anything, offered a helping hand. Whether they were in for anything, they had no idea; and they soon found out.
The brothers were brought by the man and his men to a ghost town, located in the furthest south region of Alvina- Caleb guessed. Llynn casually clung to Caleb in an attempt to shake off the feeling that something terribly wrong was about to take place that day... and that it did. On that very day, they signed a contract with the man who took them in as their "children", or rather, assassins. Llynn, at a young age had the intuition of the ancients. Being less impulsive than his brother, he hesitated as he watched Caleb sign both their contracts in his blood. The deal was made, and thus their shackles were locked.
The duo spent the rest of their days filing out and hunting down people that ranged from citizens to official authorities. Trained to be the best, the pair simply would walk through a crowd, clad in cloaks- and that would already mean one less soul around the block. They were trained by their 'Master' in the most gruesome ways possible, in order to rise within the ranks of their organization, "The Gray Hand". Caleb and his brother were top-notch in hand-to-hand combat, with scars and bruises that will never fade to prove that. However, when they hunted out in pairs, especially during stealth missions, Caleb honored his nation's soldiers by using their weapon of choice and got better at it: the saber. Quick, easy and painless. Years passed ever since their first assassination, and at this point Caleb had grown jaded to his unlawful killings. He had never known the people personally, so in turn he never found out whether his targets, or victims, were innocent or not. This thought nagged at him, ate away at him for years on end. Llynn had made it even worse for him, by pressuring him to stop what they're doing every now and then- just pack up and leave. The thought resided in his mind too, Caleb realized. But how could they ever leave? The elder brother prioritized his beloved sibling's life the most, even if that meant he'd have to become a cold, heartless killer in order to keep Llynn well and standing.
Caleb's heart hardened when his Master assigned them the duo's final "task" to prove their loyalty and dedication, to stand with the guild through thick and thin. One look at Llynn had Caleb sure that he was thinking the exact same thing. They were told to "get rid" of a family of 5. The parents, three children- two boys and one girl. Caleb shuddered as he looked at his Master in disgust, but only for a moment to not get caught.
"...we can't do this." Llynn sounded defeated.
"I know. My heart aches for them, but we have to. You know that." Caleb thought a bit longer. "...or we could escape."
The plan took several days until the time they had to head out to seek the family and secure their demise. They would run across the forests in separate directions, to confuse the armed soldiers- but their well-thought out plan had gone terribly, terribly wrong. Caleb had managed to make it out alive, however, the fate of his dear brother now lay in the hands of The Gray Hand.

Up until now, Caleb Brèvedent is a fierce, hot-headed young man who values his pride and Llynn more than anything. He prefers to think of the situation first, prioritizing logic over morals at times. A year after he turned 23 and escaped the haunting grips of The Gray Hand, he made a name for himself at a local Alvinian bakery, to keep his past under wraps. However, his plan was in vain as his original identity was scouted out and in the end, recruited to serve The Black Order to "repent". He gladly accepted and trained with all his might; to hunt predators- both beasts and those from his organization alike and to seek out his brother. Caleb wanted to wash the dirt off his hands, to rid himself off his past misdeeds and redeem himself for serial murder. The blood would never wash off, he knew- but he also knew now, that at least he would be doing the community some good and freeing them of their worries.
All was well until he was graced by a familiar presence in the halls of The Black Order.
"Brother~" I called out.
Although having been previously taught brutal ways of taking out targets with hand-to-hand combat, he preferred dual-wielding épées. Light and agile on his feet, Caleb waltzes around the battlegrounds with a bounce in his step and allows the flow of his swords to do his work for him, quick and effortless. Before finishing off his targets, Caleb likes to play around with his opponents. There's nothing more satisfying than to have your targets panic and beg for their lives.
Cloak of Hiding - Self explanatory. Given by The Gray Hand as a commemorative token, it should've been burned as soon as he escaped but figured it would be put to good use.
Body Armour - A combination of leather and cloth to allow flexibility at the joints, and iron-steel at his most vulnerable areas- namely his chest, legs, etc.
Dual Sabers
Having grown up his entire life within the confines of The Gray Hand's headquarters and traversing through the forests to seek out his victims, he had managed to learn a thing or two. From conditioning his feet during his early years to managing his stamina and flexibility, Caleb was trained for the acrobatics and endurance. He is able to run for hours without getting tired, and is gifted at slinking in and out of a given area at will, making him a great scout- and well, assassin.
Caleb possesses a faint birthmark on his right wrist, which channels his powers that had "accidentally" manifested during one of his early scouting missions when he blinded his target, leaving him dazed and his eyes bleeding. The light magic is used very rarely whenever Caleb panics, unaware of its full potential.
