Did she have any choice but to trust the two people who seemed less willing to harm her than anyone else so far? Dagny gradually relaxed, though the heart in her chest was...She placed a hand on her chest and held her breath, fear bursting throughout her entire body - her heart was in fact, barely beating despite the level of anxiety she was in. Was that normal? Was there something wrong with her? And why would she not want to be in the streets at dawn?
Happily, the elf's connection to Feandra distracted her enough and further interaction with the naga made her agree to their terms and so she followed, as best she could to Blind Hill while trying to put the idea that her little encounter with vampires may have cost her a lot more than just a lot of blood out of her head.

--

Following the elf into the crowd, Dagny expected the worst even before he got an answer to his question. She could almost taste the collective fear in the air and the expression on the orcish woman's face was not to be confused for anything else than bitter disappointment. Unwillingly, the vampire-to-be tensed and shivered, though this time not only due to the transformation.
It was bad - terribly so. If the orcs and humans had commenced fighting, there would be no turning back, no negotiation and no chance for diplomacy. It was exactly the excuse that aggressors on both sides had been waiting for.

And the humans were ready for retaliation, even here in Blind Hill, despite the fact that the orcs here meant no one any harm.
Savages?! They were the ones attacking in the first place.
Dagny looked at the elf and naga for assistance, but both seemed to be just as much at a loss as she was. Still, those humans would not be waiting around for long, certainly not long enough for the three of them to decide on a course of action.

"You have no business here!" She yelled back to the leader, stepping forward as the troops advanced. Her forehead was covered in sweat and her hair clung to her face, forcing her to push it out of the way with a trembling hand, but her eyes held that of the human as steadily as ever. There was a burning in her chest that was hard to ignore and the excitement she sensed from the human troops was almost... magnetic. She found it so distracting that she had to fight the urge to approach them.
"These people have nothing to do with what's happening in Spark. If you want fighting, you should be heading that direction instead."

With a groan she placed her hands on her knees, trying her best to steady a now out of order breath. Still, she looked behind her at the elf and managed to speak again: "Aren't you like...a man of the law? Isn't there some way you could use that to intimidate them a little?"

Perhaps it was the night air, cold and brisk even in warmer seasons, that forced her awake not incredibly long after fainting. Perhaps it was the levitation spell which made it hard for even the wounded to remain in a state of unconsciousness, but whatever the case, Dagny's eyes slowly opened, groggily, as though they were heavy from lack of sleep.
She focused on her surroundings, trying to make sense of the city lights, scattered all about her. The noise in her ears - chatter, cars passing by, honking - were all contributing to her confusion.

Was she outside? Of the tunnel?
Her heart skipped a beat and immediately after, panic took hold of her. Though wounded and weakened, adrenaline picked up the slack for her and she found herself struggling against the spell to the best of her ability.
"No, no!" She shouted as loudly and demandingly as she could muster: "Let go of me, let go of me right this goddamn instant! You can't!"

She kicked and shoved and tried her best to escape the grasp of the elf whom she hadn't even bothered to look at again in her frenzy and whom she did not remember seeing mere minutes before.
"They're here, they're out here, I won't let you take me back!"

Hey there! Goodness gracious, I made an account on this site a long time ago, but I have only just found the time to join properly!
I'm an artist gal who's really passionate about fantasy stories (yes, yes, I do love romance, too!). Orcs are my favourite thing in fantasy settings, particularly if they get involved with races other than their own - I mean, on a personal level.

I'm looking for a way to spend some time creatively outside of drawing and thought this might be the best outlet in the world to do just that. So, hi, hello, I hope to see you around and I'm happy to meet you and very excited to be here! <3
The chills were making it hard to stand as Dagny Finnur made her way through the underground. Cold sweat made her hair stick to her face in an increasingly distracting manner, forcing her to stop every few steps to push it out of her eyes - she could barely see without the distraction, she did not need the extra challenge.
At least for now it sounded like her assailants had given up on the chase - she did not know whether they had decided she was no longer interesting prey or if they had simply lost her (although judging by the blood trail indicating where she had come from, that was likely not the case) - but she was glad to still be able to draw breath.

The sets of teeth on her throat made her feel dirty in a way she'd never thought imaginable and the gash the vampires had torn into her leg was sure to do her in, lest she found help before she passed out. Served her right for deciding to go to a party in the middle of nowhere when she really should have been staying in, trying to make up for all the deadlines she had missed and the lectures she denied to attend. Her degree had never seemed further away, although right at that moment, she considered it the least of her problems.

She blamed it on the blood loss, but it did take her a while to realise that she was in the tunnels most frequented by werewolves. Dagny almost groaned in frustration at missing that very obvious fact - her pursuers had neither lost her track nor decided to let her go, they merely wanted to avoid a clash by infringing on werewolf territory. Or they had chased her down here on purpose so someone else could finish what they started.

Dagny had never learned who had a better sense of smell of the two factions - vampires or werewolves - but she was convinced that it would not take long before someone picked up the smell of fresh human blood. With political tensions being what they were, the tunnels were the last place on earth a human should be finding themselves in.
Inhaling deeply and with some modicum of newfound purpose, Dagny tried to limp away faster and it was not long before she heard the voices.

Her blood froze in her veins and for a few moments it felt as though she had forgotten how to breathe. Dagny expected to hear growling or some other type of obscene or threatening sound - she expected to hear taunts and mockery, but that was not the case at all. In fact, the voices she heard were perfectly calm, almost unnaturally so, given the circumstances, but they gave her enough courage to progress further, until two figures came into view.
A naga and an elf.

With a sharp inahle, Dagny propelled herself forward, arms outstretched as though she was reaching for the two. "P-please..." was all she could mutter before her vision went dark and her body hit the floor, exhaustion and blood loss finally claiming her consciousness.
Adeline let out a snort as Alice and Alec had their usual back and forth. Dinosaurs being unleashed upon the crowd - no, she'd seen those movies and they were all clear indicators that the public in close proximity to any attractions not meant to be enjoyed up close was bad, bad news.

She nodded when Alec requested that she try to appeal to the crowd again and she did find herself sympathising with the man - she, too, felt helpless and a little frustrated with the lack of higher level personnel present at the scene. She was sure she'd sent an emergency notification to all, yet she had gotten no reply.
It was unusual.

But not nearly as unusual as what happened next - gas came pouring from the gates, heading towards the crowd at a slow, but hungry pace. Adeline gasped audibly - where was it coming from? What sort of gas was it?
"Activate all security protocols." she barked immediately to her artificial companion, which immediately complied, only to return no more than a few seconds later with a message she dreaded: "It would appear that my access to security protocols has been restricted by an unidentified party."

"What?" was all she could mumble as the crowd pushed further back into the park, some resuming their angry shouts and threats.
"It's not coming from any of the attractions." Adeline answered, her brow furrowed. "And it would appear we're as trapped here as the rest of the crowd."
"You have an incoming call on the emergency line." - the synthetic voice of her appointed A.I. broke the silence of her room, which dubbed as a secondary office. Adeline had already retired for the night, but as a dedicated workaholic, she never did forget to take her job "home" with her.

"All right, let it through."
It was indeed a distress signal - Alice's account of the situation was succinct. It was not new that things would malfunction around the park, though they seemed to have a nasty habit of doing so more often of late - a frustrating situation, to be sure.
Adeline contacted the heads of security and tech departments in order to notify them of the malfunction and made her way quickly to the site herself.

The scene that awaited her was something she'd become used to. As were the shouts demanding refunds. She used a voice amplifier to drown the angry voices all around her as she made her way up to the crowd and in order to attract everyone's attention.
"If you will all just give me a moment of your time. I realise this is causing you distress and I am deeply sorry about that, we're working on fixing the issue as soon as possible, but we rely on your cooperation and understanding to maximise our efficiency."
She sounded almost robotic herself, Adeline thought. How many times had she used the same line to the same crowd? The people were likely as tired of hearing it as she was of delivering it.

As staff showed up to take care of the issue with no way of telling whether they'd be successful or not, Adeline approached Alec with a tired smile. "Looks like another late night, eh?" she sighed.
Name:
Adeline Moreau

Ability:
Shapeshifting (restricted to animal forms)

Appearance:

Personality:
Adeline is a feisty, fiery creature who bases a lot of her decisions upon instinct alone. That is not to say that she disregards her reasoning abilities completely - in fact, she is an exceptional orator and enjoys nothing more than to twist and turn words against one target or the other, but it is more often than not that her quick temper works against her.
Adeline is a woman of simple taste - she lives in a studio apartment decorated minimally with trinkets of little financial value. Her wardrobe is just as modest and she favours muted shades to intense colours.

Background:
Adeline is an only child. Following her job at Youtopia, she moved from her country of origin, France, leaving her family behind. She has adapted fairly well to her new life and soon enough she stopped feeling like a fish out of water and more at home than she'd ever felt in France on what would otherwise be considered foreign land.
She is Youtopia's newest safety manager.
