Seems like a lot of people are interested! Does anyone have any thoughts based on what I described in the OP to throw in?
Sarii En Riya
RAV - SYN - SAB

Age: 32
Gender: F

Place of birth: Sarii, Gran Pulse

Brand location: Left hip.

Description: Her often messy brown hair falls just above her waist, but is usually seen kept up in braids and buns for convenience. Her large blue eyes and long eyelashes take away a few years from her appearance, added with her short height of 5’1” and rather petite stature. However, the numerous scars and bruises that cover her tanned body may inform some that she’s been around just slightly longer than it appears.

Riya dresses in shades of deep blues. She wears a silky, hooded blue robe with decorative patterns sewn on its hems. The robe falls to the middle of her thighs, and beneath it she wears tight black clothing. A single strapped black shirt and black tights, decoratively ripped on her left thigh to aesthetically salvage where they’d been burnt in the past. Around her waist is a dark blue sash with white decorative patterns securing her robe- further securing it is a dark brown leather belt with white animal furs draped along her right side, and another belt with a leather pouch on her left side. She wears short brown leather boots that match the shade of her belt, with only a half-inch heel for the sake of comfort. On her hands she wears short gloves- the palms made of simple black material, and the backs made of leather. Her right hand’s glove extends further, giving her a leather guard on her right arm. Adorning her neck, legs and arms are colorful beaded jewelry, many pieces made for her by friends and family.

Backstory/Personality. Riya has a calm and quiet demeanor and usually chooses not to speak more than needed with people she doesn’t know. Being an esteemed hunter in her tribe, she demands respect from those around her. Although never at the forefront of battle, she is considered a highly valuable ally; her objective in hunting is always to use a monster’s weaknesses to her hunting party’s advantage, as well as their surroundings. While she still does her best to enjoy restful moments, she has little patience for nonsense and less for recklessness. Having extensive knowledge of the monsters in Pulse and a good teaching disposition, Riya was often given the task of assisting with the training of new hunters. Because of this, she is quite familiar with the fears of new hunters- and even of mourning them.

HP: 3. STR: 5. MAG: 4.

Weapon: Bow and arrow.

Squad Role: Scavenger / Hunter - Riya is knowledgeable in finding useful things in wildlife, whether they be materials for crafting or cooking. She can identify the difference between something harmful and healthy, or the difference between useful and useless materials.

The idea is to create a strong, vibrant world, even more than is created in most Pokémon games. I'd like to introduce a lot of aspects that already exist in the current world, yet are oddly missing in the world of most Pokemon games. Because honestly, how many people wouldn't visit an Eevee cafe? And certainly people still buy flowers for their sweethearts.

So, my dilemma with this comes in with deciding what direction to take it. The world of Pokémon offers much variety. It goes as far as epic journeys to defeat villains, catching all of the Pokémon (we'll pretend that a 12 year old has enough affection in them to cater to that many animals), defeating every Pokémon trainer, subduing mighty legendarys that may threaten the world itself, or even taking on the role of evil in order to realize your own plans for the world and its inhabitants. The sky is the limit, really. But there are even people as simple as Pokémon breeders, or, waiters at an Eevee cafe.

I'd like not to limit an RP to only Pokémon trainers, and am very interested in finding ways to open it up to more stationary roles. One idea that I've had to achieve this is to make temporary characters. The story would center around a small group of characters, which may mean that there are only a few consistent roleplayers, and the rest may be temporary or minor characters with a chance at growth and even becoming major characters. This idea is a lot closer to the traditional story of Pokémon, and the more unique aspect at that point would probably be a stronger attempt at filling out the world. This is not a solid plan, but simply one idea.

Another idea is to create a more slice of life feeling, which I feel would also be fun with the added twist of Pokémon.

Input from those interested, or even uninterested, is greatly appreciated! Keep in mind that while I fully intend to make the RP a real thing, it may take a long time to plan. If you have ideas, you can shoot me a PM or post in the thread and I'll do my best to keep track of all of them. Your ideas can be as simple as things you'd like to see introduced to the world of Pokémon!
@WildCard, @Landaus Five-One, @ArenaSnow, @JBRam2002 Thank you, all! o7 I also look forward to seeing you guys around and potentially RPing together!
@WildCard Any specific kind that you'd like to do?
Hi there! I'm looking for a pretty simple 1on1 RP (also don't mind a slightly larger group though) to get started with as I return to the world of RP- I don't have too many specifics for what I'm looking for, so I guess I'll list my limits first.

- I'd like to avoid heavy romance- some is OK, but I don't want it to be a main focus. If romantic, MxF.
- I'd like to keep it pretty PG, not much language and no intense stuff. The plot can be a little dark, but no mature themes.
- I don't have too much time to spend with development right now, so I'd like to keep the story-making pretty simple. Certainly nothing on the level of LOTR.
- Fandoms are OK, but I may not be super familiar with them. If it relates to an anime or JRPG, that's probably your best bet with me! I do not feel comfortable taking over already-existing characters however, and require that fandom RPs be at least mostly original characters.
A few examples of fandoms I could probably do: Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and potentially Fire Emblem.
- I enjoy: fantasy, modern or historic slice-of-life, superhero, magical girl/boy and/or adventure themes.
- I'd prefer to RP on the forums instead of in PMs. However, I'm open to both.
- I will be traveling semi-frequently over the next few months, so keep in mind that I might have periods of time where I'm unavailable to post due to this. They should never last longer than a week at a time, and no more than once a month- and of course, I will let you know if they come up during an RP!

That's pretty much my requirements, as far as I can think of them right now. If you'd like any clarification on anything, feel free to ask me! o7
@Ruthenselle I'm glad I chose this username then, haha!
Merci beaucoup! I am already enjoying the variety of people here- and I'd like that very much! It's always nice to get to know the people who welcome you.

And yess, everyone will use the salute.

Interested! There seem to be quite a few fun ideas popping around in here.
@Rockatiel Thank you!
I am a flimsy little shuriken who gives paper cuts. o7

I found your humble roleplay forum via one late night google search; because I have no search creativity. It's been a very long time since I've been involved in roleplay of any kind, despite craving for it over the past few years. I used to roleplay actively in my teens, but fell out of it when a small forum I used for it became more and more inactive. I'm now a bit busier than I was back then, and don't have quite the time I used to for it but I'm hoping to join one or two casual, fun and active roleplays! Being used to a smaller forum size, I do usually prefer small groups (1 on 1 or 5-6 people max) but I am willing to try larger ones should they meet my interest.

I'm always a sucker for magical girl and superhero-esque stories (I'm currently on a kick due to finally watching the cheesiest show ever, which I'm sure anyone who is a fan can guess by my avatar), but I can enjoy any genre and setting with good characters included. Plot doesn't have as heavy an impact on me as it should, so if I were to host a roleplay a lot of the plot would probably be based on the characters' own interests, save for when I get some fun ideas.

My hobbies include gaming, reading manga, drawing and watching anime or other animated things. I'm not a huge fan of live action television but I do watch it on occasion. I have a lot of interest in the artistic and aesthetic aspect of entertainment, which is why 2D and 3D movies grab my attention more easily than others.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, and hope that the community is a good fit! o7 <- my favorite text smiley, a saluting stick man head.
