backstory

Ciaphus, The Artisan Adept has grown in pursuit of perfection. Glory to the Omnissiah, He was assigned to Hypecia and given the task of constructing its locomotive system. If he could feel emotions Ciaphus would have experienced complete bliss. He runs his train, The Indomitbale Spirit with cold will and iron speed, running and controlling his servitor crew with brutal efficiency to ensure the fastest of times and the littlest amount of error made. However this is all not well known, as he is a secretive adept. Most have never heard or seen him, and very few have heard His scratchy, fox laden voice over the loudspeakers. When the evacuation commenced Ciaphus received word that he was to stay and direct any followers to the hive city. From this direction, he has spread his skeleton crew of servitors all over Hypecia to gather whoever remains. Even then, tech priests like Dirka who care more about science than worship would see it more as a learning opportunity. There adepts, such as the character from the Horus heresy series Correl Zeth, make everything about learning as much as possible. They see the cruel process of turning one to a servitor, or a heavily restricted Skitarii, as something for criminals and traitors only.

In most cases yes, but There have been the occasional adept that has put heavy restrictions on them to where they are not much better than servitors in many cases.

Haha, the over religious, secretive, ritual bound, barely science based adept you’re talking about is basically my entire character! (Also considering the entire train is run by dozens of servitors under Ciaphus’es direct control.
Think I fixed the picture :) let me know if it’s still broken

@The Fated Fallen doin good, and yes I finally have my scheduled semi cleared for some RP!
You guys need a train driver? Ive been keeping my eye on this thread and I’m happy to be the tech priest that communes with the machine spirit! Plus it gives me an opportunity to make up/ utilize all of the 40k tech jargon that fills the mechanicus wiki. Let me know :)

(Cool to see you here @The Fated Fallen, we really have the same RP interests lol)
@Lord of Evil actually the combat will work with you stating your attack’s and then me stating the enemies reactions, or vice verse. In accordance with that, That post will probably be done in the next few days :) great work on the first posts guys!
@CAWs For Alarm any ETA?
@Lord of Evil @mercenarius @Vega7 @CAWs for alarm @drippy

Post is up! Set up a little bit of a show for you guys, each one of you gets to kill one of the fake chosen! Think of this as an introduction, getting a feel for your powers and such. I’m interested to see what you all come up with :)

Little bit of a side note, make sure to start your post with a “timeline”

The format for this is (location),(Region),(year)
The year will reflect how the story is going, for instance the starting year is the rising sun because the powers of the holy ones are growing.
Sanities Demise, outlands of Skorhn, year of the rising sun

The ritual had been prepared, and the time was near.

Inside the darkest of the caves, the most foulest of cults, the final machinations of the gleeful eclipse were slowly being brought into motion. A cavern 40 feet high, filled to the brim with hooded figures of all manner of deformity. A man with a lizard tail poking out of his robe quietly chants next to another, of whom a green liquid drips and sizzles out of every orifice. The pews arranged in a semi circle all facing four obelisk stones, vertically faced outwards with binding runes and iron shackles alike waiting for the chosen ones. It was not long before everyone was settled and the proceeds could begin.

A hunched figure steps out of the crowd and ascends the steps. “You all know what is to happen” His words creaking with age. “Those of you who believe to be the chosen, step forward to the obelisks.” From the mutterings of the crowd, 8 figures step forth, looking at each other warily. The mutters grow into violent shouts, accusations flying, small fights breaking out before the elder calls for silence. “There can only be 4, half of these are heretics! Those of you who are the true chosen ones, slay your accusers and be made known to the Gleeful Eclipse!”

A ring is loosely formed around the group of chosen, and the fight begins. A man steps forward, wielding lances of flesh and blood, stabbing forward without mercy. A shadowy woman melds into the shadows before striking out from behind. A grotesque, half man half beast charges without relent, seeking to tear apart those who would challenge him. And finally a cloaked figure stands behind the melee, flames wreathing his body and seeking to char everyone but itself.
