I told him about your offer. I am bound when you do as you agree. When you break your word to me, you have no promise.

*shrug* Considering he first broke his word to us, it's understandable I would be mad. I offered that to you asking for Prussia and the 8th coalition not to interfer/assist if conflict between France/Britain once more broke out, but decided that upon continuing the war it would be worth it once last time to try and get France back. I won't be making any movements against them, but they certainly are not friends anymore.

Who is France's wife? England? You mean you haven't divorced him after that cowardly display?

Was trying one more attempt at reconciliation. Divorce is almost certainly happening though.

Edited: He answered.

The terms offered by the United States of American are reasonable for the most part. They have acted on the side of righteousness in their decision to abolish slavery throughout the whole of their land. While the United Republic does not condone the aggressive violence used by the Union, we recognize their victory in this war and would call for the Confederacy to surrender. There is no point in this senseless loss of life.

And it is the senseless loss of life that brings me to my next point. We would humbly ask that the Union renege on the punishment of death for the leaders of the Confederacy. Though I might disagree with their sentiments on slavery, these are men who fought for their beliefs with wisdom and courage. Therefore, we would ask that the Union would merely exile these men from the continent of North America where they might be free to pursue other interests in other parts of the World. Furthermore, we..the United Republic would like to offer the citizens and soldiers of those not wishing to return to the Union (considering their aggressive tactics towards your lands) the opportunity to immigrate to the United Republic with the chance to make a life away from the horrors of the war you have just faced. We would firmly state that no American joining our Nation would be forced to serve in our armies unless they so wished. This is a humanitarian act, not one of aggression. We ask that the Union respect this request in regards to the people of the South.

We pray for the souls of the men who died during this war and it is our prayer that peace shall reign on the American Continents.

-Albert Edward, British Prime Minister

A slap across the face, maybe.

That's what France is going to get if he doesn't answer his wife's phone calls. :P

What is the UR's deal with supporting the Confederacy? I get that you might want to keep a potential threat (the US) busy, and weaken them as much as you can. So from that perspective, it makes some sense to support a war that is highly detrimental to them, but you'd go as far as provide safe haven for a criminal? You'd be straining your relationship with the US quite a bit there. I mean, I can't imagine it's in very good condition now, given that you have publicly supported the rebellion, but housing Lee and allowing him to escape justice is a punch to the gut.I can't imagine the rest of the world takes your support for the Confederacy -a nation fighting to keep slaves- very kindly either.

We don't support the Confederacy. That was the United Kingdom. However I'm not going to turn down a chance to get the greatest General during this time period training my troops. And honestly it's not like I would make it so much a safe haven. More just asking for "an exile"
Keep fighting CSA!!! Protect CANADA!!!

:P

Edit: I wonder if I should offer Robert E. Lee safe haven in Britain...I'd just have him train my soldiers.. :P

*MARXIST Ireland

The Irish Rebels were different from the Marxist rebels in the Britain. They were the typical IRA rebels.
Emmy is active. Just in our pm discussions though.

So they aren't out.

France...respond to your wife's PM.

Also, I actually did consider giving Southern Ireland to the rebels if they causes too much trouble, so that could have been something; but I honestly suggest something like Uraguay or Paraguay. Or if you're looking to the east...Portugal, Papal States? Maybe Muslim nations?

I (will) maintain the East Indies.

Graci. That's cool I guess. If you want to maintain the East Indies, it might be a good idea to take the 7th Fleet and put them there.

Just some advice from your friendly, neighborhood Commie. :D
