Current Think I'm gonna finally get to RPing here. Don't know if I'm gonna commit, don't know where to start, and don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do it.

I've had Johnny Cash on my mind all day. Can't get "When the Man Comes Around" out of my head. Tempted to let it influence some writing or make it a character's "theme"

I'm a bit scattered brained lately, so if I need to respond to a roleplay response, just remind me, I could've forgotten.

Finally done with the college semester, so I decided to treat myself to a expensive burger and a walk on the beach

Finally got Kokotha thread up. It's gonna be awkward in the first day of moving it here.

Bio

Hello, I am Patches

I roleplay as a hobby, as well as designing OCs to be used in various types of roleplays. No matter the setting, I believe I have one just for the situation.

By the Twin Gods... Gregor said, just now noticing the obese villain and guard making his way over to them. He knew the man didn't like him, so this couldn't end well.

Now Daud had made a move to confront the guard confronting Mercury. Things were not going so smoothly.
Thinking on his feet, Gregor looked to Duff. He had less than a minute to explain his plan, so he acted quietly and quickly.

I'll handle this. Act casual, act like a bodyguard. If everything fails, I'm going to flashbang them. I'll give you the signal he said, making a quick blink of light in his hands with magic. Gustrag was getting closer by the moment. That's the signal... From then, flag down Merc. We make a run for the gardens. From there-

From there you what, Mr. Gregor? a Gustrag said, now within speaking distance between the two, causing Gregor to snap his head towards him and the angry looking guard. Party guests began to look at Duff and Gregor, many going silent. Gregor was silent as well, as Gustrag began to speak again. No, go on. From there you what? I'd like to hear it.

From there... We go to the gardens for a smoke and drink. It's a good view. Gregor said, his classy attitude from before starting to crumble.

Those who weren't staring at the tension between Gregor, Duff, and Gustrag, were now staring at the tension between the guard, Daud, and Mercury. A few people within the crowd began mumbling to one another.
Weren't those two accompanying that Gregor guy?
Who are they? I've never seen them? Are they on the invitations list?
An Old Path Member? Aren't they criminals now?
I'm gonna be outside til this blows over.

The large beastkin guard scowled at Daud, not happy with being handled like this. Shooting a cocky smirk at Mercury, he looked back to Daud. "Who do you think you are?" With a quick swipe of his hand, he batted at Daud's helmet. Not a powerful or strong swing, it would likely make Daud's helmet go crooked. More insult than injury.

On the other end of things, in the chaos in the underground labs, things were still chaotic.

"I'm not a fan of torture but..." Yoshimi mumbled, before pounding her fist on the ground for emphasis, before questioning the man. "Who's in the holding cells? WHere are they?!"

The interrogation subject however, scowled, hissing in pain, "You think... He'll let me live if I tell you? I'm dead either way. The guard began to activate a rune in his belt, with the minimal use of his hands that he had.

Yoshimi's initial thoughts were of confusion as to what he was doing. Then, as she heard a quiet, subtle clicking noise, she gasped Kordan! Get off of him. It's a bomb!

@Nashie@Ember Storm
Johnny's swings and display of bladework, managed to stop the guard from firing at him, even leaving a few deep wounds. Falling down, the wounded guard was dispatched.

Meanwhile, the guard that Astrid hit with her arrow managed to survive the hit, but was pained enough to stop his advanced. Looking around, he drew his side arm, looking for the archer.
They really did have a wide selection of wines. As expected from the White Teeth to go the full mile when it came to these things. She was in the mood for some red wine, her favorite. Maybe something white, to try something different. Might as well spoil herself a bit before she got to work.

As they chat, they mostly go into things like how their life has been going. Lucille talking about her experiences with the White Teeth, Wingate talking about her students or about past discoveries. A pleasant chat and a catch up with a friend was all she needed to get ready for a night of research.

Mmm~ You spared no expenses. Tell whoever brought them here that they kept them nicely intact. She said as she began to tie her hair back into a ponytail so it wouldn't get in the way. I've had people handle tablets roughly and break them and then expect me to read them. The nerve on some people.

While the tablets were intact to a degree, that didn't mean they were fully intact. There was still taking into account millenias of moisture and being slight erosion. A few words were gone, forcing her to fill in the blanks. She took her time. Translating of the language of Isz was a step by step process; first one had to figure out what each symbol meant, what sound it related to, then had to figure out what those words meant. Then, Wingate spoke.

Mmm... As mentioned before, these tablets seemed to have come from a tomb of someone seen as a hero. An'Kan...? I believe that must be their name. But from the sound of it, no one really knew about them... Or rather, they were some sort of unsung hero who got no credit for what they did. Carefully brushing away a layer of dust on one of the tablets, she continued How sad... Part of me considers taking the tablets back to the dig site out of respect.

As the papers flew around the room, several of the bottles that Gossick had managed to so carefully arrange began to fall off their shelves. With a sharp gasp Gossick made a beeline for them before they hit the ground. Then, in a swift motion, he caught them, one three between the fingers of his right hand, two in his left, and one balanced between his shoulder and neck.

Well wasn't this a interesting sight. He didn't get customers like this everyday, ones so wild. Putting the bottles on a nearby table displaying his wares, putting the one on his shoulder down last to prevent it from falling and breaking, he finally answered, speaking in an almost bored sounding monotone, strangely unphased despite his jolt of action earlier. I haven't the slightest idea what's going on here. But if you're here to buy something, I am having a sale on bloodroot.

Bloodroot was popular among healers. It could work as a blood thinner and a coagulant depending on how it was treated and applied. Despite the name, it is more of a tuber than a root.

I can dig this, don't go too overboard with silliness, but I see no issue. Plus I've been wanting to touch upon animals with brands.
Meanwhile in a small section of New Wickborough, in a cozy little potion shop, Gossick was busy cleaning the place. The place was out of the way and he had to pay bills, but it at least helped him get by. After all, with the magic craze going on in the country, many people were now interested in potions, even those incapable of magic bought them.

Carefully, he arranged all the different colored bottles on the shelves, arranging them by color; if you wanted customers, making the place look visually appealing was as important as cleanliness.

Soon, after a few finishing touches, his shop was open yet again.
Ah, the kids are fine. Teaching children has its ups and downs, such as the ability to be a bit childish myself when it comes to lessons. She never knew why she choose such a job. Maybe it was the one job where her motherly nature and her love of knowledge could find a happy medium. Other than that, things are going well for me, a bit too slow for my tastes. This is a nice change of pace,I might add.

Do you have any wine? she asked, a bit hesitant. She loved the taste, it eing one of the few alcoholic beverages she drank. But to drink while the country was under prohibition? It felt so criminal. Was it alright when she was in the presence of criminals? Was it worse...? ~How humorous~ She thought to herself.

Every one of Wingate's outfits looked like they constituted as formal dress. As someone who cared almost too much about her appearance, she did her best to look great everyday. As she made her way through the Grapevine, she made sure to greet those she passed by, a wave here, a hello there, it was best to be polite when you're a guest at someone's place.

Greetings, Miss Barlow. she said, setting her dufflebag aside. It made a quiet clinking noise as it touched the ground, the various tools jumbling against each other. "I must say, that this outfit suits you. You should go for the formal look more often.
@Ember Storm
Gishka? Gregor rubbed his chin, If anything, he's talking about someone from the Gishka Empire. They're a country near Xiao. They still have a emperor ruling them, I've heard. Think the U.M. has a few members from there. Stone Magic is there specialty... That much I know.

@MercuryNH
As she would make her way back, her little pickpocket would go unnoticed... Then, a guard would approach her. A large, beastkin man, rough, rhino like skin covering his exposed arms.

As Mercury would make her way back to the 3 guys, he walked in front of her, cutting off her path. "Excuse me, miss... A moment of your time?" As he stood in front of her, there was a slight sway to his stance, the scent of alcohol on him. Not quite drunk, but slightly inebriated. A slight smile was on his face, as if the charm the woman "Can you, uh... Come with me?"

@hefewy@Ember Storm
"Shit... Our pickpocket is in a bit of trouble." Gregor said, biting his lip, trying to act casual, hoping she wasn't seen. He waited to see things play out, not blowing his cover yet Guys, we need to come up with a plan B here if this gets worse.

As the three would watch, another situation was approaching the three. The owner of the villa, Gustrag, as well as a guard, was steadily approaching the three.

@Nashie
As Johnny got ready, two guards burst in through the room, weapons ready. One of them fired off a burst of stone rune based ammo at him; not waiting to shout things at him or tell him to halt.

@Ember Storm
...And with Astrid to suddenly join him, the guards didn't look all too unprepared. Tough looking gear, dangerous looking rifles fitted with state of the art runes, three in total entered the room. One laying surpressing fire on Johnny, the other two taking aim at Astrid as she entered the room.

Despite all their gear, one of their most distinguishing features was the emblem over their hearts, one that the guards at the party lacked; the symbol of a skull with a crown, the symbol of the Children of Kodo'Yim.

@Blizzardofoz123
Thanks Kordan! Yoshimi said as she made her way over to the remaining guard, ready to take him out. With the cat creatures distracting him, she hit him with a solid punch to the ribs, staggering him and sending him stumbling away, coughing. Grabbing the man, she held him down.

Yoshimi had never seen magic like that before. Was it some form of Mist Rune? No way... It was too free formed. It had to be from an Amalgamate of sorts.

Kordan! She shouted, not wanting to be the only one beating answers out of a man Forget about them, Johnny and the lady have it! Help me out here.
Force of habit i suppose, she said, playing with one of her hair drills. She just can't help herself sometimes. Then it is settled, I will see you there, my dear.

Wingate made her way to the Grapevine, a dufflebag full of various tools useful for this kind of thing; brushes, chisels, and even a crowbar. She felt a bit cautious about going to these kinds of places, she couldn't let her students know she frequently hung out with the White Teeth, but at the same time, she couldn't resist a dig like this.
"A tomb of a hero of sorts will very well unlock a lot of information about Isz's culture and history. If they were buried with their weapons, we could maybe find a Isz Weapon that collectors so love to find." Or for all they knew, it could just be an ordinary tomb. But she had hope, and she couldn't say no to Lucille's adorable face and attitude.

But nevertheless But I will be there sharp, I have a habit of coming a bit early. I will bring my archeological tools and some food for the boys. Whenever she was surrounded by a large group of people, adults or children, her motherly side always had a habit of coming out; packing lunches, bringing snacks, even if it's a group of grown men that she's working for.
