AppearanceBrenden stands at about 6’0, making him slightly taller than average. He is more lean than overly muscular. His deep, brown eyes are usually don’t give away much about his personality. He holds himself rather well and has excellent posture. His hair is styled religiously almost every morning. The only time you’ll find him with it unstyled is when he’s terribly sick. That also happens to be the only time you’ll find him not dressed up. One thing that remains constant about Brenden is that he likes dressing well. It is rare to see him in less than a button up and tie. He takes great pride in how he looks.
Brenden prefers to keep his face kind of scruffy. It makes him look older than he actually is. While he usually wears contacts, he does wear glasses at time, which make him look younger as well.
"A sweet personality and a cute smile won’t get you to the top. I suppose you can try though."
PersonalityBrenden is, in short, an ass.
Well, maybe it’s a little bit more complicated than that. He has an air of carefully constructed overconfidence about himself. He acts like he’s better than everyone else, exuding a cool charm mixed with layers of wit. His charisma can kill most anyone who hasn’t spent a decent amount of time around him, and he knows how to use that to his advantage. He knows when to be personable and knows when it’s okay to be a jerk. Talking to people is something he has learned to be good at. His barriers are akin to that of steel doors that only he has the key to. This makes him excellent at getting information from other people and not giving them information about himself. He also falls on the flirty side, although is almost never serious about the people he flirts with.
Despite all of this, he is rather well mannered and polite. His scathing remarks tend to bite even more because of this. It would be an understatement to say that he knows how to work his way around a social circle. Think of him as that guy you know is a jerk, but somehow still manages to be charming despite that.
Underneath that, Brenden prefers to be reserved. He has learned to accept his facade, despite how uncomfortable it makes him at times. Good manners and a sweet smile are almost never enough to climb the social ladder after all. He is loyal to a fault, which partially explains why he is so intent on pleasing his parents by completing tasks they never assigned him. If someone could manage to get past the walls he’d built they’d discover a young man who cries at almost everything he reads or watches and has a weakness for cute animals. It might be hard to believe, but he’s rather sweet under the cold shell he’s built for himself.
Brenden is also an insomniac, something that he does his best to hide. The right kind of makeup will hide the worst of it, although there are days when it is more obvious than not.

HistoryBrenden is the son of the CEO of one of the top grossing pharmaceutical companies in the US, David Rivers, and his wife, a retired European model Adeline Rivers. He also has an older sister, Michelle. His family life at an early age was more existent than one would think. His father wasn’t around as much as he would have liked, but made an effort to come home when he could. His mother made every effort possible to fill the gaps that came from their father not being around. He brushed elbows with important people all the time, in both the business world and the social. His mother still maintained many of the connections she had when she was younger. He had grown up in the lap of luxury. Life was fine, until the summer before his 15th birthday.
Over the next few months, his older sister would abandon his family without a word and he would discover he was the illegitimate son of a poet his mother had fallen for while his father had been spending more time at work than necessary. This would instill a change in Brenden, warping his personality from a sweet, quiet child to an arrogant asshole hell bent on being better than everyone at everything. Or at least, that was what he made happen. Much of this was learned from the crowd his parents spent their time around. They were both high ranking members of society, and being the perceptive boy he was, Brenden gathered a good deal from the people they spent their time with. Both of his parents realized this change, but never did anything about it.
Inside, he knew why he had changed so suddenly and so drastically. He had to compensate for the gap that his sister had left and prove to some irrational part of himself that he was still part of this family. It was also a way for him to deal with the sadness left by his sister, one of his closest friends, disappearing completely from his life. He brushed his own dreams to the side, instead choosing to pursue the ones his parents had laid out for his sister. Prior to this, he’d always wanted to be an author. He still writes short stories on the internet under a pen name, and has gotten quite a bit of popularity from it. He’s adopted this persona ever since.
Favorite memoryThe family took a trip to Paris when Brenden was about 10. He and his sister got hopelessly lost, but after the initial shock had quite a fun time running around by themselves. The after scolding they got from their parents afterwards was kind of a downer.
Least favorite memoryThe first few days after his sister left.
What corporation sent you to Ashbury?Pheonix Pharmaceuticals
One of the top grossing pharmaceuticals in the US yearly. The CEO is Brenden’s father, David Rivers. Although the decision was not forced upon him by any means. He elected to go of his own free will. His parents were more than happy to see their son follow in his father’s footsteps, even if they suspected something was up with his actions.
"The notion that people can change isn’t a ridiculous one. It happens all the time."
