As they were both talking, the minutes passed by so quickly. In between the laughs, grins and winks he gave her, Alyson felt her grow all warm and cosy inside. They fingers had intertwined whilst talking, and thank god VIC was not reporting any abnormal changes anymore, but she was sure her heart wasn’t going at normal speed. Though the adrenaline of finally getting to know him a little bit better did not keep her awake for much longer. Alyson felt her eyes close now and then, and it was getting harder prying them back open. Grateful he noticed, Flynn allowed her to get some rest when he confirmed the bleeding has stopped. When his fingers left her cheek, Alyson immediately fell asleep. It was as if all the things she had to worry about were non-existent for now.
“Did you get rid of her?” Alice asked, walking over to the captains chair. There, David sat, pressing several buttons in on the control panel. “I don’t know yet.. Hmm..” It seemed like he was downloading a file from a server. “Well?” Alice said, having an impatient tone in her voice. “Hold on for a moment alright? I have to find the right video files!” David snapped at her. He was scrolling through a video footage from what seemed like Alyson’s basement. “There, I gave her enough time to escape, you see? I came in 10minutes before the first bombardment.” David mumbled with a few fingers in front of his lips, giving Alice the impression he was focussing. “Look, I leave, and she’s probably gonna start packin…Wait..” Alice pointed over at Alyson walking towards the stairs, down to the cells. “Where is she going?” Alice asked, poking David on his shoulder. “I don’t know..” He distantly selected the cell camera’s, grabbing the panel and sitting up straight in shock. “Are you kidding me? She didn’t kill the guy?” Alice said what David thought. But that was not all. “What is she.. Letting him go?! What are they, buddies?!” Alice squeaked holding her hands up to her head. On the footage Alyson and Flynn got out of the cells and together ran towards the other ship in the hangar. David just watched in silence, soaking up all the information he could get. “They got to know each other, I suppose. I knew there was something off when I saw her that morning. She almost looked.. Happy.” As Alice and David watched Flynn’s ship disappear from the hangar David exited the video footage. “They did not shoot the guy down because he is a DAMN BOUNTY HUNTER AS WELL!” David shouted throughout the ship, making Grunt and Sarah look up from their sofa. “We have to tell him..” Alice then whispered to David, making him nod heavily. “We will. Message him. She’s still alive. And happily together with mister Flynn Taggart, goddammit!”
Both Alice and David returned to the group after typing out a short anonymous message on the panel. “What’s going on David? We heard you shouting.” Sarah handed him a tall glass filled with a strange looking fizzy drink. “She’s alive. But we handled it already, don’t worry. That money will be ours in no time. He’ll make her speak.” David grinned, making the rest of the group follow along.
A few hours later, Alyson slowly opened up her eyes, waking to a silent ship. No Flynn in sight. “Flynn?” She mumbled, pushing herself up from the sofa. Still slightly dizzy but without the headache, she swung her legs out of the sofa and onto the ground. Her hand was all sticky and gross when she ran her fingers through it. “I need a shower..” Then looking at her palms and fingers, noticing they were both stained with blood. ”Didn’t I hold his hands before..? Ughh you’re the worst.”
