Paying for books in our lord's year 2016? I seriously hope you guys don't do this. Well, if you can't find an e-book then it's another story.

I read some Kafka - the Metamorphosis and the Penal Colony story, but I can't say I really found it worth the hype. They were good reads, but I just didn't see the magic in them that everyone else's so happy about.

Then again I also think that literature has a lot of memes going on around it (not dank memes, more like people talking about authors they haven't read just to get on the bandwagon, the names of works and authors becoming separate from the works and authors themselves), so I guess maybe Kafka suffers from that. Or maybe I just wasn't very compatible with the guy.

We should all just start wearing deep-Vs, skin-tight jeans, oxfords or chukka boots, scarves and thick-rimmed non-prescription glasses at this rate.

As a hipster one step ahead of the curve I go with turbans, unkempt beards and AKs myself.
As long as we're still measuring our literary penises, I'm working on some Nietzsche novels, the Book of Five Rings and On Killing. Away from contemporary literature, I just got the complete Conan collection by Robert E Howard.

I've got an 12 inch battering ram engorged with a bunch of travelogues and memoirs, Dostoyevsky, Gogol and Goncharov, though I've been mostly reading local stuff from the early Republican era lately.

Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo is the opening line of one of Catullus' poems. See if you can find an English translation; it's hilarious.

Oh, I know, I know. I don't say anything I don't know the meaning of. Used to read up on Pompeii grafitti translations, they were pretty fun. Those and pedicabo kind of give you an insight into Roman society.
I really ought to brush up on my Latin. That shit comes and goes since it's kind of a dead language that no one uses outside of archaic quotes and referencing a certain movie.

You're an animal.

Hey, that and delenda is all I know of Latin.

O tempora, o mores!

Quo usque tandem abutere, Kamali, patientia nostra? Quam diu etiam furor iste tuus nos eludet? Quem ad finem sese effrenata iactabit audacia?

[pedicabo intensifies]
KAMALI ITE DOMUM!

So, the last collab was 9605 words long (formatting excluded). Let's agree on a cap for future collabs, like 5000 words?

And who else is interested in TES Mafia?

I think a mutual interest to keep it short would be more effective than a hard cap myself. As for the Mafia, I'm not used or partial to that sort of game, so I can't say anything positive.
@Peik, @Hyperdrive, who's gonna break the ice?

I'm thinking about launching a companion piece to this RP. The idea is basically Mafia set on Tamriel (inspired by Molag Bal Games on UESP). It's gonna be casual standard, more game-like, light on lore and fast paced. You guys wanna do it?

Hyper's finishing his piece up iirc, and I didn't want to post first and possibly interfere and contradict his upcoming post.

Oh, yeah, I guess that's why I didn't get it XD Dunno what song you're talking about

It's this one.
