In an America ravaged by crime and overcrowded prisons, the government sanctions an annual 12-hour period during which all criminal activity -- including murder -- is legal. Will you survive The Purge?
This purge focuses around a group of strangers, all of which find themselves stuck in the city for this years purge. They all take refuge for the night in the Hotel Noir which proudly boasts itself as a purge proof sanctuary. Unfortunately, nothing is entirely safe. The hotel is broken into by a group who collects people to sell at auction. The strangers must work together to try to survive the assault and each other.
In order to join, choose one of the available roles below and fill out an application. Roles and spots in the rp are first come/first serve, with no reservations. The cap on players is 4 (excluding myself).
The Resistance Hacker:
You're part of the anti-purge resistance. You're trying to hack into the broadcast message to send out a message of your own.
The main cable to the broadcast building runs right under the Hotel Noir. By hacking into it directly, you can make sure your line is secure and nearly impossible to override externally.
The Former Military:
You're former military. You were discharged honorably after physical or mental damage occurred overseas.
Your former squad mate's father owns the hotel and offered you a room free of charge this year.
The Rich Kid:
You're a trust fund brat.
You're avoiding your families annual purge auction event this year by staying in the suite at the Hotel Noir.
The Criminal:
You need some quick cash to pay off some debts.
What better place to rob than a fancy hotel on The Purge. Make sure you hide before lock down starts.
The Staff:
You work at the Hotel Noir
As perk, all staff that work during The Purge get to stay inside during lock down.
The Parent:
You're a mom or dad.
Your car broke down. You won't make it home for the purge tonight so you shell out money for a room at the hotel.
The Healer:
You're a doctor or nurse.
The hotel you normally stay at was overbooked so they sent you down the street to the Hotel Noir.
Applications don't have to be terribly long. Just cover the basics so I can get a feel for your character.

One character will be from the resistance group. Here are the characters types players can choose from. They'll be first come first serve (No reservations, only completed apps count). They're vague so you can have their age/personality/background/gender/sexuality be whatever you like.

I think 3-4 players will be ideal for this, so not all the claims above will be used. If you want to make a tweak to one, let me know. Apps will be short and sweet and I should have the OOC up in a day or two.
I have a brief description of the purge below the picture but for anyone who hasn't seen the movies or heard about it, here is a link to the wikipedia article.
Like the description says, The Purge is basically a night where all crime is legal, including murder. You usually have two groups of people: one group goes out in the night looking for people to kill and the others barricade themselves inside hoping to live to see the next day.
This rp will be focusing on the latter and I'll be controlling the events that happen.
Also I'm open to any ideas or suggestions you guys might have.

There won't be any reservations on character types. Instead they'll be first come first serve in terms of completed applications in the OOC.

Luckily, since she's nurturing by nature, she's far more likely to be kind than cruel to most people she meets. Though, none of these things will get in the way of her unwavering loyalty to Mrs. Deville.

• Biography:
Valencia moved to the States right before entering Mrs. Deville's class. Her English was terrible so she had a hard time making friends. Her family didn't have much money so she wore a lot of her older brother's hand-me-downs which didn't help in the whole 'socializing' aspect of kindergarten. Her mother left her family half-way through the school year which was the main catalyst to Val becoming close to her teacher. Mrs. Deville practically became a surrogate mother to her. The woman helped her with her english and even bought her a dress for kindergarten graduation. It was her nurturing that made Val want to be a nurse.
Val remained in touch off and on with Mrs. Deville, and when she found out she needed a nurse, she was quick to offer her services. She cares deeply for the older woman and would do anything for her, including keeping Jack secret.
As for Jack, she cares about him almost as much as Mrs. Deville. She brings him his food every day, making sure to make his favorites. She even bakes him a cake on his birthday. Every night before bed, Val sits on the other side of the basement door and reads him a story and sings him to sleep. With her father and brother having been deported back to Colombia, this dysfunctional family is all she has left. She's prepared to protect it at all costs.
