It's incredible how if you give someone just the tiniest bit of power over others they'll turn into the most self-righteous, selfish, impatient fuckers you will ever meet.

How are some writers on this site still incapable of knowing how a comma works?! It's like the second easy piece of punctuation you learn about as a kid!!!

It'll always be confusing to me when some people regard two or three sentences in an IC post as putting in effort with the writing, yet they consider themselves at a casual/advanced level.

Having heard Richard's speech, Nina shot him a withering look, though refrained from saying anything. Who knows? Maybe if some of the kids saw an adult playing the fool, they'd feel a bit better about the situation. Though it seemed Ayita wasn't all that impressed, and Nina's disdainful expression suddenly had to quash a smile of amusement. She'd heard horror stories about siblings fighting and budding rivalries (Due to her mother's untimely death, Nina had never had the fortune - or misfortune - of having any siblings), but the Laine siblings had been quite light-hearted, for the most part.

Before Nina could think on their relationship any longer, or brood about a potential brother or sister for herself had things been different, a new plan quickly wiped the smile off her face.

"Ah... you're correct. I don't like it." She replied quietly after Marygold approached her and laid out her plan, face blanching momentarily. She didn't have a fear of heights or flying, but this would be quite the dangerous job - not that it would stop her. "But of course I'll do it. I'll be able to handle the weight, but..." She paused, lips clamped shut as she thought about what to say next. Both she and this Thalia would become large targets for those below. Better they be targeted than the plane itself, of course, but being shot down while so high in the sky was a scary thought, no matter how much Nina wanted to keep everyone onboard safe. Looking Marygold square in the eye, she knew that the young leader of the X-Men was aware of the dangers, and wouldn't have asked if she had no other choice. "I'll do my best. All I can ask for is cover fire, but I understand you may not be able to protect both us and the ship." Nina didn't need to emphasise that the ship took priority.

Looking now to Thalia, Nina looked her up and down dubiously. She had no idea what the woman's powers were, nor why she was present. But she wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and she offered a determined nod of the head.

"I don't weigh much, thankfully. Hopefully we can get this done together." Nina glanced around the inside of the plane, wondering if there was anything she could use to tie herself to Thalia.

Deciding that Allison seemed okay - or at least, Ayita was looking after pretty well - Charlie backed up, looking to Sara once again as she talked about helping out. Nobody had disregarded her offer yet, but he certainly wasn't comfortable about sending her out with wings and super strength to help. Not that he doubted her, just that she was so new. And young...

As the others continued speaking, Charlie perked up as Nina mentioned cover fire. "Hey, maybe me and Sara could stand by the doors? We could shoot down fire and ice, keep them occupied." He suggested, looking to Sara for confirmation. It seemed a lot safer than flying out, anyway.

The author has not been online in approximately five or so months now. I would've asked them but I did credited them all rights. I am not taking credit for the story but I am taking it in my own direction.

Thanks for the interest.

I would say "credited all rights" means citing where the original story came from, and also telling us who the original author is.
Out of interest, who is the unnamed original author of this idea? Have you notified them you'll be using it?

Charlie had been about to argue (weakly) with the woman who had directed he and Sara back to safety. He didn't know who she was, even though there was a strange sense of familiarity in her eyes when she looked at him. Was she a teacher at the school that he'd never seen before? One of the X-Men, maybe? Either way, he - and Sara, no doubt - wouldn't be going anywhere until everyone else was safe. As it happened, everyone seemed to be following the orders of this woman, including Guin and Marygold. It didn't take long for Charlie to find himself in the Blackbird with everyone else, eyeing the hangar doors nervously to see if any metal creature decided to burst through it. Unfortunately there seemed to be some injuries on board, though most seemed superficial. He imagined everything would be easily dealt with once at Stark Tower.

Wow. Stark Tower. The thought that they were going to the headquarters of the Avengers sent a thrill of excitement through him, even in the current situation. Things would be pretty bleak and 'hands-on' as soon as they'd landed, and he'd have to act professionally. Still, it was exciting to be among the greats. The only time Iron Man had made an appearance during one of the missions had been before he'd even joined.

About to take a seat, Charlie faltered as he saw Allison fall to the ground. Before he could meander past the throng of students and get to her, she'd already regained her balance and found a seat.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked, kneeling by her seat and touching her arm gently. Had she had a vision? Or worse, had some kind of injury they hadn't noticed yet. Deciding that Allison looked pretty unscathed in terms of physical injuries, Charlie glanced over his shoulder at Sara as she began urging those up front to use the weapons. She sure did like a fight - either way, he cracked a grin, glad she was okay, and still enthusiastic about everything, before turning back to Allison.

Once on board the Blackbird, Nina did as Cassandra suggested. Her powers were only of use when up close and personal with her enemies, and while she wanted everyone to get away safely, there was no point in disembarking just to meet OMEN out in the field. Hopefully those with ranged powers and the Blackbird weapons could do the job.

Doing a brief headcount of everyone on board, Nina sighed in relief as a full roster of students was accounted for. Naturally, since being at the academy, she'd memorised the number of students staying there in case something like this happened. A headcount was a lot quicker than going off a register, anyway. Next, she looked at injuries. Again, they were in luck - nothing too serious. Allison looked wobbly, Banner's son had some wounds from glass the would require stitching, though they were hardly life-threatening, and both Beast and Mary had some minor wounds too. All in all, they'd been extremely lucky in how fast they'd managed to evacuate.

Making sure the exit to the Blackbird was secure, Nina turned back to the front as she awaited lift off.

"If anyone needs help, just give a yell." Her voice ringing loud and clear across the babbling in the jet, Nina held onto something in anticipation for the plane to take off. She didn't know much first-aid, but whatever she could do for these kids, she would.

"Ah, shoot." Charlie muttered, hesitating only a brief second before high-tailing it after the tenacious Sara. Whether she was gunning for a fight or was just feeling heroic, he didn't know - but did know that he couldn't just chill in the jet while she was out here by herself.

"Just promise me you'll try not to die, okay? It really dampens the mood." He said as he caught up to her, rolling up his sleeves ready to shoot either flame or frost. The last thing he needed was to ruin yet another hoody thanks to his over-active powers.

Nina watched on at both Guinevere's and Marygold's outbursts, eyebrows raised. Although it was clear by the altercation between the former and Richard that the complaints were directed at him, she wasn't naive enough to think her query directed towards Cassandra hadn't insulted Marygold in some way. Which in of itself showed how un-leaderlike the girl was being. Did Marygold honestly think that having a temper tantrum about who asked who questions - in the middle of a battle, no less - was the way that leaders acted? Did she think Cyclops would do the same, or Captain America? As for Guinevere, her behaviour was to be expected at this point. Immaturity ran too deep in the girl for it to go away when faced with aging or responsibility. Ignoring Amni's sly comments, Nina kept her eyes on Cassandra, deciding that she'd do exactly as the Agent did. No matter what the other's said about S.H.I.E.L.D only being present to render aid, Nina would trust the judgement of a senior agent over an unexperienced mutant. Especially when they acted as childishly as they'd just shown.

Immediately following Cassandra as the group set off, Nina did a double-take at the woman who had smiled at her. At first glance, she had thought it was Carolina. But hadn't she already seen her inside? Besides, this was a gully-grown woman, much older than the Carolina she knew. Realising that there was more going on here than she had first realised, Nina followed the others in silence, praying that all the students were onboard safely and unharmed.

Distracted by more noises of fighting and struggles outside, Charlie didn't realise Sara had said anything before she ran off again. Following in haste (And silently chastising himself for being so easily distracted), Charlie dithered by the jet. Sara made a good point, but most of the people currently not on board were already tried and tested X-Men for the most part... along with the people who were apparently from the future.

"I dunno... maybe the jet should take off with everyone else on board? Maybe the rest of us could get away in the cars, or the sewers. Hell, I bet this place has some kind of hidden tunnels underneath for a quick getaway." He could hope, anyway. It was a pretty old house. But still, he couldn't get on the jet without knowing there were others being left behind. If the jet left now, he'd stay with the others. Then at least the more innocent students - and Professor X - would be safe. Looking to Sara, he realised that this had been her real first day, and it had only been training. Her powers were impressive, but he wouldn't feel right, expecting her to stay too. "You should get on the jet. Wherever the jet lands, they'll still need protection."

Oh, he'd never hurt a woman. When men stood there all righteous and chivalrous stating that they wouldn't harm the opposite sex unless they really had to, Nina always felt as though they were expecting a round of applause. In her opinion, they were idiots. She knew plenty of women in this house alone who could kill a man if they wanted, and they'd do so without blinking.

Once again, Amni had failed to make any sort of impression on her.

"That's Agent Van Essenhout, Mr. Clayteer." Nina replied sharply, finding an OMEN Agent who had gotten too close to the house and clipping him in his jaw. She hadn't held back, and his body flew a few feet, not before his head had twisted around with an impressive snap. "And by the looks of things, they're people not overly fond of us mutants." Finding Cassandra on the battlefield, Nina zeroed in one her friend.

"Cass - what's the plan? Are most of the kids safe?" She asked, figuring the Agent probably knew what was going on better than she did.

"Holy crap, seriously?" Now that was a power to be jealous of. Being able to mimic whatever you saw? Even Mystique couldn't do that, just imitate appearances. "That's awesome." Straightaway he wanted to showcase his own powers just so Sara could copy him, but now wasn't the time. Although the upstairs seemed to be clear, there were still kids scattered about the place who were still in danger.

"I think the Professor is good." Charlie said as he saw a familiar blur go by, heading towards the Blackbird. "Let's just get everyone into the jet, make sure nobody sneaks past the defence and gets in the way." The last thing they needed was one of those robots becoming aquainted with their best getaway vehicle.

Nina watched on unimpressed by Amni's posturing. He wasn't the first man to threaten her, and he certainly wouldn't be the last. Still, she had more pressing matters to deal with than an uppity Frenchman. Pausing as some super-speeding stranger whisked away Ayita and the Professor to safety (She could only hope that whoever it had been was a friendly - those outside clearly weren't interested in working with mutants) Nina unsheathed her knife and marched to the door.

"Do as the speedster said. Protect the school and her children - put yourself between them and a bullet if you have to. And Mr. Clayteer..." She paused, turning on her heel to fix him with a steely gaze. "Don't doubt that you would indeed die trying. I'm far too busy to be harmed by an individual like yourself, so do watch your actions." At that, she motioned for him to follow her, and she joined the others outside in the fight.

"Giant mutant-murdering robots? You've gotta be kidding me." Charlie felt like he'd been sucked into one of those video games he'd been wanting to play earlier with Guin and Caroline. What was it with this world? Evil mutants to fight, and now evil humans who didn't like mutants to fight? And where the hell did they get giant robots from? Peering out of the window as the fight began, Charlie watched on for a few moments as the mutants in the building began scurrying around. Pietro and F.P were zooming here and there, with new mutants who he'd never seen before (More future people?) going off the fight the robots.

Nodding as Guin placed him with one of the new students - cute girl, blonde hair - he offered a strained smile before realising she'd already ran off. Nice to see she was eager.

"Hey, wait up!" Jogging to reach her amongst the throng of children stuck in the hallway, he motioned towards the upstairs area. "We should check all the bedrooms first. There could be some of the younger kids stuck there, too scared to move." He could understand that feeling, but as an actual X-Men and an adult, he didn't get to hide in the closet as much as he wanted to. Not that a closer would do much against murder robots anyways. "I'm Charlie, in case you didn't hear earlier. I can control fire, and ice... most of the time anyways." He'd found it was always useful to know your partner's powers when working together, even moreso when it came to fighting. And names, too, he guessed.

"Bloody Hell." Nina muttered under her breath as Ayita directed her attention towards their surprise attackers. Suspicious eyes went towards the newcomer, but she didn't fully believe that he'd brought them here. Professor Xavier could be naive at times, but there was no way he'd bring in a threat like this. Still, she wasn't sure whether to trust him or not. Yet.

"Calm down, both of you. We don't have time for this." Striding towards the windows to get a better look, Nina clocked several cars with people inside. They had a whole school full of innocent students to protect, and those outside certainly weren't going to make it an easy task. "Alright. Ayita, go with the Professor. Make sure both of you get to the Blackbird safely." While she was aware Ayita didn't like her all that much and probably wouldn't appreciate the orders, it wasn't an easy task. Despite his amazing mutant powers, the Professor was still an old man stuck in a wheelchair, and he needed the most protection out of everyone. Heading towards the front door, Nina cast a glance behind her at Amni. "If you want to make yourself useful, help out in keeping these things away from the school while the kids escape. They are our priority." She didn't know the man's powers, morals, or motives, but she'd be damned before she'd allow any of the students here to be harmed.

Ah, shoot guys. Really sorry for not making the deadline - been up to my eyeballs in work and I completely forgot that I was on my last day. Sorry again.

"You're kidding me, right?" Charlie looked disbelievingly between the Pietro and "Other Pietro." There was absolutely no resemblance there between them, barring eye and hair colour. But apparently this future Pietro provided proof by way of a watch that Guin seemed to recognise, so Charlie shrugged his shoulders and conceded. "Must have face transplants in the future." He muttered to himself, watching as the two Pietro's examined in each other. Charlie didn't buy F.P's lame excuse for the ring (Like dude, just admit you're married, Jesus), but kept his mouth shut, only opening slightly in fear as F.P told them his reason for being here: They were about to be attacked.

Almost immediately Charlie's eyes darted to the doors and windows that he could see, paranoid of any movement he saw outside. He'd known about the MRA thing going on, and knew it was a big deal for a lot of mutants, but never thought it would come to something like this. That is of course, if F.P was telling the truth, but it was a really random thing to show up and lie about. It seemed to elaborate and pointless to be a ruse by the Brotherhood.

"Shouldn't we, I don't know, maybe tell the Professor so that he can call in the big guns for help?" He suggested, glancing at Allison as she joined the group with another new guy. Charlie had made far more friends since the last time he'd ran into trouble, and already was worried about Blondie, Carolina and Guin, even though they were all perfectly capable of looking after themselves. "Also an exact time would be helpful too, if you are really from the future. Maybe details about firepower? Weapons? Numbers? Anything you can give us barring pretty flowers would be great." He added sarcastically, his nervousness ramping up his attitude to about ten.
