It's incredible how if you give someone just the tiniest bit of power over others they'll turn into the most self-righteous, selfish, impatient fuckers you will ever meet.

How are some writers on this site still incapable of knowing how a comma works?! It's like the second easy piece of punctuation you learn about as a kid!!!

It'll always be confusing to me when some people regard two or three sentences in an IC post as putting in effort with the writing, yet they consider themselves at a casual/advanced level.

Sami had cracked a grin at the witty answers in response to his question, along with other playful banter going across the room about alcohol and relaxation. It was certainly more lighthearted than when they had first awoken - and compared to the simulation too. Though he and Grif had entered at a separate point to the others, he doubted their experience went totally smoothly. Unfortunately, as if the Gods had noticed the light atmosphere in the room, they decided to deal out two events that would shatter the good moods well and truly. For one, Tinley brought Rivera to the ground, snarling about Hydra. Before anyone could even give her a hand or even question her actions, Rivera had pulled a Black Hand Gang and was soon choking on the fluid steadily filling up her lungs, though not before spitting out her true loyalties. Sami too was trying to get his head around just how SHIELD had allowed this to happen when the second occurrence took the wind from his sails.

Due to the commotion going down with Rivera, Sami hadn't even had chance to answer Niah's question. Sadly, Agent Ridgeway did, and they certainly hadn't suger-coated the awful truth that Sami had already considered. Niah's beau hadn't made it.

Darting a sour glare towards Ridgeway, he marched over to Niah, ready to give her hugs or give others punches if she so required. "I'm sorry, Niah." He said softly, ignoring the slight pang in his heart too. He hadn't been besties with Antoine, but they'd been good enough buds for him to be introduced to Niah in the first place. It was a damn shame to see him gone.
Charlie Farrier

Location: Stark Tower, Main Area

The main area Charlie stood in was quickly devolving into a free for all of petty comments, weak threats and weaker attempts at placating others. He couldn't blame some of the girls for trying to keep the peace, but honestly at this point, in seemed pointless. Magneto and his crew had waltzed into the place, and it seemed that neither JARVIS or Tony Stark (If the latter even knew this was going on) was doing a damn thing about it. Charlie didn't even deign to give comments towards the miniature domestic dispute was going on between the Maximoff's and the unimaginative jibes coming from Scarlet Witch and Magneto, nor about Dean and Pietros's bickering over a girl.

Thankfully, it seemed like someone else was deciding to do something useful. As Allison reappeared from the lab area where Tony Stark and one of the students were (And yet still, no "Holy Shit, Magneto is here!" yells coming from within the lab from Iron Man or his AI. Great "state of the art security system" there guy.), he hesitated only momentarily as she spoke to Ayita and him and marched off. Sighing quietly, he quickly decided he had nothing else to do in the tower barring sitting on his ass or bickering like everyone else. Turning on his heel to follow Allison, he paused as he passed Damon, looking at his bow and arrow incredulously.

"Uh... you remember Magneto can control metal, right? Stand down dude, it's not gonna do anything." Even if they were made from some non-metal material, Scarlet Witch's powers would make short work of any projectile headed their way. Not waiting for a response, Charlie caught up with Allison, making his way to Happy's desk with her. He didn't know for sure where they were heading, but chances were good that it was to clean up whatever mess Marygold had started. Hopefully they could get there before the mess began.

Nina van Essenhout

Location: Jakobsen's Office

Remaining silent throughout the meeting so far, Nina had been doing much of what Sara had - examining the room, looking for areas where hidden cameras may lay, weak spots in walls she could punch out in need of an escape, and any concealed doors where back-up for Jakobsen could easily spring from. He seemed far too at ease in his office, alone with several powerful and pissed off X-Men. He knew that they knew that he was responsible for what was going on - an innocent man would have been far more nervous. So, that begged the question: why was he so relaxed? Did he have a death wish, a desire to become a martyr and fuel his cause? Was he being controlled by somebody else, a separate mutant who desired their entire race to be wiped out? Or was he simply so cocky of his own power that he truly believed he couldn't die in this situation? Now, they hadn't come here to start a fight, but with Folly's breakdown and Marygold's outburst earlier, Nina knew tempers were frayed. She couldn't trust those two to keep their cool, especially if the passive-aggressive jibes continued.

"If you truly aren't responsible for such acts, then I'm sure you'll do your best to find out who was." Nina said smoothly, playing along with his lies momentarily. "And I'm sure there'll be no issues in letting our diplomatic party leave this building alive and unharmed, too." Nina hoped silently that at least one of Guin's gizmos from her father was recording everything live. At least then they could find some public favour if Jakobsen faked an attack to justify attacking them too.

Sami's lips pursed as he could barely get a word in edgeways at his Uncle's rant. Was he really acting surprised at Sami's hotheadedness? He'd raised him since he was an angry little pre-teen, and he knew fine well he hadn't cooled down in the slightest when he'd suggested the S.H.I.E.L.D Academy training to him. His other comments tickled said temper, and as the line went dead, Sami glared at the phone as he immediately rang back and left his own scathing message in his Uncle's voicemail.

"First things first, don't talk shit to me about my mother. That woman picked a pathetic specimen of life over her own son and you were the poor son of a bitch left to pick up the pieces, so don't fuckin' tell me to call her. Secondly, none of my fuckin' powers are psychic. If the computer starts glitching and messing everything up, I can't guarantee it's gonna last forever, because guess what? It wasn't supposed to fuckin' happen in the first damn place. Finally, if I'm up against some over-powered hot mess with daddy issues and a penchant for genocide, then yeah, I think that's grounds for lethal force. These people are terrorists, and last I checked, our government was permitted to kill terrorists. I don't know your goddaughter, so I couldn't give a flying fuck about what she would think about her boyfriend. He may have a clean slate now, but in that simulation he sure as hell didn't." He paused, taking a deep breath. "You want to talk to me as an Uncle, then phone me in your spare time. You want to talk to me as a Colonel, then you do it through the proper channels. But don't fuckin' scold me like a kid via Fury's spare phone like some kind of fucked up helicopter parent. It makes us look bad." Hanging up swiftly, Sami shut the phone off and made his way back to the room with the others - passing Fury and Sparks and tossing the former the phone back as he went by, whistling nonchalantly. No point in letting them know he was bothered by his Uncle's poor choice of words.

As for the simulation, Sami wasn't feeling too broken up about it. In order to succeed, it appeared they expected him to do something far too risky and unlikely in a real-life situation. Or, they expected him to just know what to do despite it being impossible. Whatever the case, there'd be plenty of missions in the future where he could prove himself properly without depending on glitches and damaged computer programs.

Re-entering the room and shutting the door behind him, Sami was pleased to see everyone else was waking up. He doubted all of them had died at the same time, so something must have gone well.

"Mornin' folks. You guys save the day?" He asked the waking individuals with a grin, glancing at Grif and wondering if he'd have any residual phantom pain left over from the simulation.

Awakening from the simulation was jarring in the first few seconds, but Sami quickly relaxed. The "death" had occurred so quickly that he hadn't felt pain, nor heard whatever witty comment Pietro had attempted to make. Briefly wondering if the guy was that much of a dick in real life as he was there, Sami straightened up and slipped from the bed he had laid upon, stretching and cracking his joints. Most of the flu-like symptoms he'd experienced when he'd first awoken had abated now, but there was still a severe stiffness to all of his muscles.

"'Aight. At least I'm not the only dead bitch here." He said in response to Ridgeway with a chuckle, throat still husky from sleep. Several other beds either were empty, or held awakening individuals. A brief scan of the room found Niah, though Antoine was nowhere to be found. Had he already been killed too? Hopefully he was outside getting the tongue lashing from Fury that Sami expected straight away.

Stepping out into the hallway with the others, he decided to stay just a tad respectful upon seeing the irate Fury. His motor-mouth wouldn't exactly help him here.

"Sir. Ladies." He added a cheeky wink to the blonde and the brunette in the hallway with him. "Have to say, that Quicksilver bastard is a motherfucker to kill. That why S.H.I.E.L.D hasn't put him down yet in real life?" This question, directed at Fury, had some tones of humour - though was laced with seriousness. Someone like that was dangerous, and they were lucky he hadn't decided to stay with his messed up dad and the genocidal Brady bunch.

The fact that Allison had received the vision now and not ten minutes ago seemed pretty typical of how shitty things were going right now, but it didn't stop Charlie from feeling frustrated. Especially because her vision pretty much affirmed that they were correct over how idiotic Marygold's plan was. They were walking into a trap, with no protection, and no knowledge of a back up plan. Or, at the very least, said back-up plan hadn't been shared with anyone in the tower from what Charlie knew.

Charlie darted a vaguely irritated look at Richard as he spoke up. "I'm not discounting anyone." He answered grimly. "I'm just not stupid enough to think we're all so big and bad that we can handle it ourselves. It may be possible, sure, but I'm pretty certain that more people helping out means less innocents dying." If the Avengers themselves had had more numbers, perhaps not so many would have died in New York following Loki's rampage. Hypothetical situations, but important ones to consider. Especially if you were a so called 'leader'. Ignoring Richard's remarks about his own powers and how useful they'd be in killing people - though failing to hide a fairly creeped out look on his face (He wasn't wrong, but jeez, there's a time and a place man.) - Charlie followed Allison out of the room.

Following the commotion, Charlie couldn't even find himself surprised anymore to see Magneto and two members of the brotherhood. He threw his arms up in the air, as if to say "Of course, you guys are here!". He looked dryly to the ceiling, wondering where JARVIS's threats about "not putting the tower at risk" had gone. Were AI's frightened of evil mutants?

Once again, Nina found herself disapproving of Marygold's choices as leader. She wasn't sharing the information about the back-up plan, which would only lead to confusion in the future should they need to use it. She'd elected to have everyone walk to their destination in broad daylight despite the fact OMEN or the Sentinels could descend on them at any given moment, and the entire meeting could be a way of getting them out of their hiding place. Finally, the plan itself was just entirely too dangerous. If this were truly about talking their way out of this mess, then why take so many people? If the diplomatic route was important to Marygold, surely she could have gone alone? Not to mention the fact that Folly had come along as well, and considering her mental break down earlier, was just another threat in the situation. She should have been left at the tower to be monitored, especially if Bruce was in the middle of making up more of her medication... which she had left without.

Nina simply shook her head lightly as Cassandra added her two cents. If OMEN attack first, they attack back? They shouldn't even be allowing the former to take place, particularly while dragging younger kids into this mess. Falling back a step so that she was side by side with Sara, Nina regarded the young mutant carefully. She seemed confident, and she no doubt had an extremely useful power. Still, she was young, and in this case, inexperienced.

"How are you feeling?" She asked her softly, not bothering to pursue the problems she had with Marygold. She had a distinct feeling the redhead wouldn't listen to her anyway.

As Sami watched their attempts fail once again, he found himself distracted by a new wave of sensations via his newfound power. Some have dropped off his radar, but different ones had popped up. He could only guess that barring the superspeed, they were all coming from the group of hostages, unless he and Grif had been lucky enough to gain such a diverse amount. Sami himself wouldn't have been pleased with the plant one. He was never much of a gardener himself. Wherever the powers were coming from, they weren't all that much use to him. Thankfully, during his distraction the glitches seemed to have begun affecting the simulation itself, with the hostages and Pietro glitching out like a game of COD that had too much lag. Sami was weirdly reminded of Resident Evil when the blonde one spoke, telling them of how much time remained in the game. It was reminiscent of the creepy little girl AI, and he wouldn't have been surprised to hear "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE DOWN HERE" in a shitty British accent.

Disregarding the warning, Sami collected himself as he noticed Grif attempt to attack Pietro once more, only to be knocked down by his previous injuries. Hoping his friend hadn't punctured any major organs, Sami took aim at the no longer glitching Pietro, squeezing off a few bullets only for the guy to slip away again. His temper flaring in sheer annoyance, Sami gritted his teeth.

"Would you FUCKIN' stay still?!" He snapped, darting a glare upwards to where he assumed those in the real world would be watching. How in the hell did they expect him and one other guy to be able to put down such an overpowered little bastard, while trying to keep a bunch of useless mutants alive, and also while trying to find a cure? He sure as hell hoped the other groups were making some headway, because he and Grif were stuck in a sucker of a hard level. Casting another irritated look towards the group, he found himself snapping at them too, not particularly holding back for anything. They weren't real, after all. "Could y'all maybe stop lying around and do something useful?" They were beaten up, not fucking paralysed.
@Fabricant451

Well shoot, you're right! I was only looking at the rules on the first ooc one, the one with the announcements and whatnot. My apologies!
@Hushed Whispers

Ahh, I should've known you were making a gal. So it's technically three and three then. Would recommend sticking that in the main rules bit for new prospective players!

Not really but I just want an even amount of girls and guys.

lmao no offence but 3 and 2 is not equal.

Unfortunately by the time Charlie had made it back to the main group, those that had been chosen for the mission had already left - including Sara. Huffing quietly in defeat, Charlie slunk back to the corridor, backtracking to the theatre room where he had come from and hearing the end of Professor Xavier's speech about Folly, and ignoring the look the woman had given him.

Charlie found himself sympathetic to Folly's mental situation, but not enough to forgive her presence in the tower. If she was so unstable, why was she not being locked up for the time being? Yes, he could understand why she was brought from the future, being one of the sole survivor, but now, she was nothing but a liability. There was no way they could properly keep her in check for a possibly delicate situation that may arise at some point.

Sitting in the same seat he had vacated earlier, Charlie looked towards Allison.

"They already left." He said dully, fingers playing once more with his hoodie strings. "Should we start thinking about something to do if they mess up? The Avengers are pretty awesome, but I doubt two of them can protect this tower alone." In all honesty, with Marygold in charge of the group, a mess-up seemed pretty likely to occur.

Nina couldn't lie - she was nervous about the mission ahead. It had a high likelihood of things going wrong, and she wasn't sure this was the best way to go about things diplomatically. Marygold was approaching Jakobsen packing heat by way of several powerful mutants, including Nina. A better way would have been to make the meeting a public spectacle; let the media and the world know that it was taking place, and was doing so peacefully. Yes, deaths may still occur in that instance, but at least the world would catch on that Jakobsen was no where near as sincere as he appeared. Unfortunately, it seemed Marygold was on a warpath, and she wouldn't be deterred. Certainly not by a S.H.I.E.L.D agent like Nina, even if it meant putting others at risk.

Others like Sara. Nina had noticed the youngest of the group, and felt a pang in her heart as she talked with Marygold. She was young, new to the group, and it was totally unfair expecting her to fight alongside them all. She certainly made valid points too.

"Sara is right." Nina echoed as she entered the elevator behind everyone else. "Are there any contingency plans in place for those still stuck here? Or, god forbid, if things are to go wrong with Jackobsen and there are any survivors?" The former point was particularly important. The kids at Stark Tower would be safe for time being, but if they failed in an attack against Jakobsen, that safety would only last so long against the Sentinels and the full might of OMEN. The tower could only cope for so long. It certainly didn't cope very well against Loki and his handful of brainwashed human minions several years ago.
