Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

How do you build teamwork in a military or police force?

War games boi.
@Searat

"You're one step too literal there, Golem. Spend time, as in go into the training room and train for some amount of time. I usually spend an hour or two training every day myself, sometimes more if I'm not expecting to be deployed for cleanup duty." the Djinn explained casually, approaching the control console and fiddling with the settings, "I generally set it to randomize what I fight, keeps me on my t- er, keeps me from getting complacent. I'd like to wait before we go in though, had an idea for that team building exercise. Ever heard of capture the flag?"
Best keep Rost away from her core systems, he'd be too tempted to do some tinkering to try and remedy that situation.

Argus

"Whatever you say, chief." Argus waved as the director made himself scarce, the djinn forced himself not to flip the man off behind his back. "So, field report..." He muttered under his breath, heading to his own office/on-site apartment.

The Djinn's field report consisted of a verbatim transcription of his previous statement and details of his work at the crash site, as well as an explanation of the cover story he had devised. After making jasty work of the report he dropped it into a mailing tube to make it's way to the director.

On his way to the training deck, Argus retrieved a bottle of lighter fluid from his locker and stashed it in his belt.

The Djinn agent spotted Astra standing in what he interpreted to be an awkward position outside the sim deck and approached her, "What's the matter mistress roboto?"

Rost

"As you wish, Director. I'll make my way to the training area as soon as I return some things to the library." Rost gave a polite bow to the director as his superior left the room before scooping up his grimoir under one arm and taking his leave of the meeting room.

It was only a short walk to the library which Rost had made into his domain since his recruitment into the agency, equal parts repository of knowledge and work space for the more arcane aspects of the agency's research and development department. Much of the agency's extensive collection of arcane lore had been donated from the scribe's own library upon his induction as a BOSA agent, and so he played a secondary role within the agency as the curator of the archives. Rost's personal grimoir was returned to an arcanely sealed safe in his desk, alongside his painting kit, before he left to make his way to the training area.
@Searat pfft, god I love it when robot-type characters take things too literally
@LightningMaiden@Searat@KatherinWinter@Blueflame

"Sorry for stabbings you in the spine by the way, kid. Didn't realize there was a person in there at first. Won't happen again." The Djinn offered sincerely, "The only form of hand to hand combat I'm trained in is pretty brutal, been meaning to learn something a little less agressive but haven't been able to find the time." he glanced at Amaya, "Speaking first hand, you probably shouldn't baby the newbie too much. He can take care of himself and if you treat him like a scared puppy he's gonna start acting like one. That girl I told you about... She got killed because I got soft. Don't repeat our mistakes, Amaya."

Argus

"Here's my mission report: Arrived after shit went sideways, contained a potentially massive containment breach, organized agents on scene and brought suspect in alive but wounded. Wouldn't have been able to do it without both Amaya and Rich. Get a water elemental and a holy man in the same room and they can deal a real number on any demon. Agent Griffin was ill suited to aiding in bringing in the suspect so I sent him topside to call and arrange a prisoner transport." Argus shrugged, brushing a bit of ash off one shoulder, "Might bring more liquid hydrogen with me next time, seemed to work pretty damned well for some reason. That stuff is a bitch to requisition, though. The boys down at the armory thought I was crazy when I told them I was gonna drink it." he explained, "I'll submit it in writing later, first I've gotta run to the corner store and by more smokes." the Djinn began to rise from his seat to leave, pausing briefly to see if he would be allowed to exit the meeting.

Rost

"Speaking of the demon, I believe he is listening outside the door and not sure if he is allowed to come in." Rost indicated, turning in his chair and locking his eyes on Mason, "Though I understand his hesitation in entering, considering his capture was far from clean. The poor boy was acting like he'd been fed through a woodchipper." he shifted his gaze towards Richard and Argus, "You boys should be less heavy-handed when dealing with suspects, especially you Argus. I saw what distinctly resembled the remnants of claw marks on his body while i was dealing with his little shadow problem. the Scribe declared in a distinctly accusatory tone; receiving a glare and roll of the eyes from the Djinn in return.
@KatherinWinter I have an uncanny ability to remember minor, easily overlooked details of books and movies. Sadly it doesn't apply to real life.
Found the quote about it btw:

EDWARDS
What branch of the government do we report
to?

KAY
None. They started asking too many questions
(sorry about weird formatting, C&P'd it from an online copy of the script.)
@KatherinWinter

In the movies, the MIB was extragovernmental; they had no ties to any or organization besides their own and did not swear allegiance to any government. Their recruitment from other organizations was covered up by erasing all evidence those people had ever existed; "walk in shadows move in silence" as the song says. If we're based on the movie version, The Director likely wouldn't need to report to the FBI or the president; only the MIB, their parent organization.
