<Snipped quote by PharaohAtem>

@EurmalEye

Manta would be easier than all of them.

Leval: 'Hey Manta want to be friends?'

Manta: 'Sure. We can be friends.'

Leval: "I'm sorry for your species. I will do anything to help. Tell me about them."

Manta: Uses psychic powers to show Leval his memories

Leval: Fascinating. Your species is wonderful.

Manta: 'Here take this.'

Also I forgot to mention. Obviously when Manta 'spoke' he spoke using his psychic powers. Since he can't actually speak.

Actually Jane would still be easier considering she is a teacher and its literally her job to help keep the students safe all he would have to do is walk up to her tell her he was going to explore the island with Shela and Jane would probably give him a cuple gems just to help keep them safe considering atm moment Shela has no power and Leval is currently one of the weakest students.
@EurmalEye also Leval should keep both of those useful little butterflys with him at all times considering how often he needs healing lol.
@PharaohAtem Yeah I was thinking the singular form one, something like smashing one of the gems on his weapon to give it that elemental nature as a one time use per gem. and as for the two earrings, honestly I just thought it was a style choice for one. I got two butterflies so I can lend one in combat so that is easy to share.

Yeah gems are not thst easily broken so smashing them on your staff would be more likely to break your staff lol besides the way they work is they can give the wearer the powers and abilites of whatever color gem thry are using. Although she can also create gem golems so she could give his two butterflys a gem body so they could actually help him fight as while healing him.
@PharaohAtem The main issue is just the mana cost of Field of Threads at present. As for the domain, if it comes up naturally than I am not opposed.

Speaking of power-ups, acquiring magic items is something I am not at all opposed to! So if Kai ever feels like handing over that super cool earring... XD He is also definitely also going to talk to Lady Jane about acquiring some of those gems. Acquiring the ability to imbue his staff with elemental natures seems damn useful.

That would be fine but the thing with Jane is she is another character from the same game as Shade and the character has never manage to combine more then two types of gems so he may have to pick two of them. however it is possible for her to create multiple single color gems for example the white gem around her neck contains her soul and that's what makes her so hard to kill. So if @The One approves it i could make him 9 different pieces of jewelery each imbued with a different one of her powers. Obviously any character with the same power as one of the gems could overide the magic within the gem if they are powerful enough like how the twins would be able to overide a gem of life and a gem of death. As for the earring you do realize they tend to come in pairs? Right lol. Kai has a spare in case that one gets destroyed so if Leval becomes a close enough friend then he would give him the othe earring. Also Yu could build him tech like what she wares that would allow you to convert your mana into other forms of energy, store mana or possible learn other forms of magic. I say possibility on that last one because Yu doesn't use magic so i never got that last ability of her tech approved although she woul be the toughest to convinced to help you Jane would be the easiest.
@PharaohAtem Ugh fine you can have a spoiler :P Leval's secret tech are in my head named Field of Threads and Deception Made Real. Field of Threads works basically how you described illusory domain along with its incredibly high costs. Essentially the entire domain would be covered in his threads of magic to A) Conceal Leval in Magic in potentia for those trying to see through his illusion and B) Allow for quick casting. It is not something I imagine him doing for a while yet. Deception Made Real is essentially layering Leval in illusions of himself while he performs actions. So even though characters see the illusion covered Leval coming at him they will also note that the figure is illusory and giving all signs of being fake. So they will expect that figure to be the illusion and the real Leval is elsewhere. They expect an illusionist to hide not strike directly. And then while they are distracted looking for the "real" Leval, not so surprise strike. This works even better if paired with making a random patch of air invisible so there is something else to detect.

Also Leval is not above tasers and bear mace.

Lol that's pretty cool however what you just described isn't basically the same as an illusion domain, what you just described is an illusion domain and the abilites you just listed are all abilites associated with illusion domains. Any and every type of domain can take on many different forms depending on the power used to create it and the skills/ style of the user. In this case the domain would simply be modeled afer his magic threads, and realistically Leval has already shown he has enough skill to create the domain you described pretty much any time especially if one of the teachers taught him the technique to create domains.
@PharaohAtem Lol that's a lotta lecture, but I gotta tell you this ain't my first illusory rodeo and I have invested a lot of time, effort, and research into writing them. Also, Naruto special eyes may be least favorite example of illusions of all time. It is just very lazy. I love specificity when I write special abilities, because rules make a magic system far more believable. That is why Leval's abilities are always very grounded and have costs- magic has a cost on his energy and he takes a ton of damage in combat. I could have Leval pull a million extra abilities outta his butt like trapping them in a mental landscape or hypnotizing them but it would feel like power gaming and therefore less interesting. Natural progression is slower but more rewarding. Leval's is already fantastic at making illusions and overall mana control (that why its written as threads of mana to make a weave), his biggest weaknesses is just his low level of mana capacity which will improve over time and how the creatively he can use that mana control. As for the other powers, yeah in a high power setting like this for sure its easier, which is why I think a more subtle illusion in the middle of combat where everything is already distracting would have a much higher degree of working.

@EurmalEye yeah i kinda figured you would say something like that, i still remember when the one told you that you could have Leval physically manifest his making then real like Pozuzy does and you shot that down pretty fast to lol. However that's also why the Illusion domain would work so well for Leval, yes its a powerful ability and a high level technique but the only requirement to use it is that the character has a high level of magic/ mana control. Leval could still use his weaving technique to form his illusion while also weaving his magic into the air and ground around him to form his domain at the same time. The only problem would be the fact it would duble or even triple the mana cost of his illusion magic depending on how much magic he infused into the area. In orther words according to your own explanation he is already capable of creating a domain due to his mana control but doing so would put a huge strain on his already limited mana supply so it would be a last resort type of technique that he would likely only be able to maintain for a short time. But ultimately its up to you if you decide to use it i just kinda figured the domain Would be the best opinion based on Levals abilites and power level.
@EurmalEye there are other ways to make illusion magic stronger but those are the best in my opinion oh and i forgot to mention the illusion domain will use up a lot of magic/ stamina since your literary pouring a portion of your magic into the area like thr ground and the air constantly for as long as it stays activate in order to maintain the illusion domain.
@EurmalEye also when you really think about a lot of powers do give you the ability to see though illusions, life and or deth manipulation, aura based powers, angal and demon related powers, Psychic powers and a lot of different types of magic such as Voodoo, rune, and obviously other illusionist and a lot more types of magic. Unfortunately the effectiveness of illusions is largely based on how the illusion is made and how that influences the other characters mind and sometimes their body. For example narutos sharingan can create an illusion that is next to impossible to break free of alone and requires another character to help free them from it there are some exceptions to this but it is a very powerful illusion. Something you could do to improve the effectiveness of his powers for example there is perfect illusions that mimic life signs, illusion domain where Level infuses his magic into the area to increase the power and effectiveness of his magic so even if you don't have the ability to create perfect illusions you can create illusions that make his opponents want to believe there real even if they are illusions of their biggest fear you could force their brain/ heart to want to accept the illusion is real so even if they have the power or ability to see though or dispell illusions they would choose to accept they are real so those abilites wouldn't activate again there would be some exceptions like the masked man. Or you could even create an illusion that takes place in thier mind like a mental prison where level and his opponent would essentially fight each other using thier minds in a fictional would that leval could control or at the very least influence. There is also the possibility to use your illusions to hypnotize your opponent then you could either control them or havem them defeat themselves.
@PharaohAtem My characters are so underpowered for this roleplay and I friggen love it. And frankly, Kai is the scariest character to me. " Kai is a calm and leval headed person" WHY DOES HE HAVE LEVAL'S HEAD?! (jk I know what you meant)

My only concern is when I play Illusionists is that people are just going to say my character can see through this illusion instantly. It has happened a lot >.>

@The One Not a particularly subtle lady is she lol. I think Leval will notice the Angelic being descending from the skies in a blinding beam of light. "Hey Angel Grace? What happens after we die? Also can you provide some serious psychological counseling for Shela?"

@DarkShadowWolf Oh you bet your butt I noticed! Whenever that terrifying monstrosity speaks I take note. How does that take place in your mind btw? Is it something noticeable or subtle when it occurs. Leval will definitely follow the compulsion cause why wouldn't he, but I am curious if someone like Wakefield could ignore it

Yeah i know that has happened in the different versions of this rp and will in this one to a point the masked man and the flower monster do have that abiliteaas do Blake Daniel and Grace but last time we tried this rp me and the one did speak about that issue and she said she wouldn't give all the bad guys that power and she said the same this time so he should be able to help out in fights at least.
@EurmalEye oh and Demonic Force manipulation also has Voodoo magic blood magic necromancy and basically any other form of dark magic as well as a lot more abilites i haven't mentioned but i don't plan on using any of those lol.
