Tyr cracked a smile at the Carius' mention of fish, being that his diet before the empire came was mostly fish. If he had a pole available on base, Tyr'd probably be at the docks waiting for a bite. It wouldn't be a bad activity to fill up his time when they get back at least. He raised his head as the easterner brought up his hand and revealed the black mark on his hand, written in a tribal language incomprehensible to him and probably most on the base. "Worry not, space may be a whole new battlefield to familiarize yourself with, before the debris belt was formed. You've got plenty of wreckage floating around to cover yourself or entrap an enemy in if you're quick enough. Being so fresh you'll work with the salvage crews to secure the ships, most of us will be on canner and ghost duty, including my Moebius." He took the final plate and patiently cut into it, chewing as the girl revealed her combat history.

His eyes followed the knife as Erverin stabbed it into her steak with hostility. "You're right, some of us have been up over a dozen times, such as Centurion Deryk Orgs. I'm sure you've heard of him before." Tyr motioned to Everin, knowing he has also been prominently shown as a dedicated member of the space force despite his age. His Newtype abilities have also added to his tale within the Empire. "He'll help guide you along like he did for me. I've been up there over thirty three times for active operations, seven for training or checks. My armor has seen thirteen of those, don't underestimate it when you see her. Pay attention in the briefing and don't ever leave the debris belt until the end, you're almost guaranteed to come back alive. If the ghosts and canners don't get you though, fighting them is completely different than fighting off your lucky sand searching tribesman, or the Gols. They get proper military training to use in those preserved suits." Tyr plunged a chunk of meat into his mouth at the mention of their enemy.

The screen shifted between the four vessels sighted as George turned his body to face the scavenger. He pulled out a folder containing some of the known information on the identified vessels, what they could gather from secondary sources as much of the data devices on earth had been damaged over the years. Most of the information came from opposing factions or historians. "We have minimal details on them, we believe once you arrive and assess their stability from the exterior you can deduce the value of each. As for command..." George trailed off in contemplation to the newest centurion. "You will not be in command through out the operation, and I expect you to listen to the lead centurion for the duration of the launch. When approaching the vessels however you will have the lead for directing the salvaging teams. Inside of the vessels you will be in charge of the teams, but will listen to the command of centurion Fin.

"The majority of mobile weapons will remain on watch for any patrol from the colonies. The centurion in charge has been instructed to act appropriately should an interception team approach, or any ghosts activate inside." George shook his head at the thought of a remnant machine activating when approached, running an old program and attacking any unidentified combatant. "The soldiers will take care of them should they activate, and then you're to secure any mobile suit weapon, parts and inactive suits first, personnel weapons or equipment secondary. If you have time to acquire any additional items of interest such as data devices or terminals do so after the mobile weapons. Unless the colonists have improved their detection capabilities you should have time to move cargo from the vessels to the the HLVs before contact if all goes well. Our own men take precedence over equipment of course, so do not risk any one of my soldiers for a greater check."

Tyr's eyes followed the carius out the door, turning back to the girl as she shouted out after him before proposing for him to sit down. Tyr took in a deep breath before letting it out as a sigh, shaking his head to complete the irritation of the situation. He stepped around, pulling his headphones from his ears to rest around his neck as he sat on the metal plate called a bench across from the girl. "We're briefing in half an hour, even less now." He replied. "After that we'll be moved to the rocket launch area until the final checks are given and the operation begins. Your suit will be moved during the time between, and they're expected to give the utmost care to all mobile weapons being loaded, so don't injure another ally when they do their job. I'll also take an explanation to what truly happened after we return and I receive the medic's report."

Tyr stared at the remains of the rations on the girls' plate, it's true they weren't privy to the most exquisite of foods given their outbound location, only losing to the Atlantic Fleet in lack of quality. Still, the half deflated bread next to the sauced meat soaked up the thick liquid as best it could. "The best food goes to the north and east armies." he explained. "At least the best the soldiers get. Since they're fighting the Gols non-stop they need it. We rarely have to leave the base aside for training or a scavenger hunt in the belt. Meeting the canners also is likely, so don't eat too much or you'll throw up in your suit." He looked up as the man returned to the table after leaving the boar to the kitchen cooks, eager to have fresh game to cook up instead of frozen beef or poultry. Checking if it was bleed properly, they take it back into the kitchen to properly cut for its meat.

"My advice goes to you as well, don't fill yourself up for the mission, leave some for the rest of the crew." Tyr gestured his head behind him to the rest of the soldiers and base personnel in the mess hall enjoying the sauced meat, but the fresh smell of pork cooking begins to waft into the area and chatter picks up as word of the boar spreads. "How well will you both handle the launch? Your reports told me how many you each had, but not the experience. Of course, training launches are always less stressful." Tyr's eyes moved between the two, eyeing the seat next to the girl for the man.

George nodded in confirmation to Nathaniel and watched him as he left, and as the door closed let out a large sigh. It would be perfect if he grew up like his father but learned the new conditions of the Empire's society. The general thought to himself before the door was opened once my by his assistant, notifying him the scavenger was here for the meeting, and one of the Intelligence boys was brought over to the infirmary, from hangar 3. Immediately he knew who was the cause, but decided to leave it alone to let the new centurion deal with the matter, until the next time he met with the girl. HE waved the assistant away who then ushered in the scavenger.

"Sir Gabriel, welcome. I apologize for the delay but you understand how chaotic the base becomes before such an operation." The general gestured to the seat as he moved behind his desk and sat down. "I expect the same amount of discretion and delicacy you provide for this launch, despite the questionable status of our newest team. Your experience will trump some of theirs when it comes to dissecting the latest find." George tapped the console on his desk, activating the screen on the side of the wall once more. "Four vessels of relative integrity, we can identify a Marilyn class and Alexandria class from universal century, then a freighter and smaller vessel, possibly a cruiser, we can not identify the exact origin of due to their relatively generic designs. We do expect them to be from the post disaster era. I'd like you to place your focus on the freighter and larger open ship. We're hoping to you can find more parts in each one at the very least, we won't be expecting mobile suits within them, that will be for the Alexandria class. From the looks of it it appears to be a standard warship so the odds of mobile suits available will be higher there. As for the last ship, only check it over for its viability. If it can be salvaged and brought back onto the Earth, do so. As a bonus, we will add on tickets to your pay if you wish to acquire any of the finds."

As the general spoke the images focused on the identified ships, presenting a familiar one next to it for confirmation. Although their data from the past is still filled with missing information, every new find holds the potential to fill in the gaps. Now the Empire has become quite adept at beginning to identify the vessels in space with their manufacturer and markings. Some were still elusive, especially the more simplistic designs which could be from any era. At the end, the General pulled out a copper ticket, a small metal plate with a inscription only the doctor could understand. "Hopefully the lack of gravity will not hamper your skills when you leave the Earth, and will feel greater than your paycheck when you return." he added with a smile.

"It was to both of you shiny." Hanson maneuvered himself into a proper position once again to face the man, holding himself steady with one hand as he reached his own out. He didn't take in his hand but rather gripped just past it at the wrist. "Don't be so sure what's trash to others, you'll find out soon enough how something useless in the past can change the present. If you intend to keep it fight for it with your life, otherwise you're not a proper soldier." Hanson pushed the man away in the zero-g, toward the assumed sister of his. Given the man's unsure attitude about the importance of the shining little cone, Hanson figured he was also another pod person, one of the unluckier ones. At least Hanson was able to keep the knowledge from his military days intact, what that kid remembered must not have been so important after all.

"If you are going to be up here at least be prepared to face death head on, in battle or when the airlock breaks open. And practice your maneuvering until it's natural. See you around kid, ma'am." Hanson tipped his head and gave a two finger wave to the woman before pushed off from the wall and proceeding down the hall, unsure if the kid would actually listen or just ignore his advice. Once he reached the cafeteria he observed the limited menu available, mostly vegetables from Cecilia from the looks of things, only a little beef in the form of sticky beef slices in a stir fry. The rest was soy, leaving Hanson with the one good choice of actual meat. While waiting he saw the two from before enter the cafeteria as well.

A lab coat and her tag along huh? Hanson tilted his head up at the duo, clearly telling their relationship from the actions the woman took and the man's rebellious attitude towards Hanson at first before correction. "Tch, if I didn't know a greenie when I saw one you'd still fit the bill. Must be someone special to be out here if you're unable to hold in that malice kid." Hanson pulled his arms away from the corners, crossing them and with the motion tilting clockwise slowly, clearly used to moving in such an environment. From the clothing the kid war rose a cone shaped device with a feint glow, something like a kid would carry around from his mother. Course neither resembled one another but a few hundred years also changed the world as he knew it. "Kid, you should lose the toy lest you get it caught, or worse it ties up in your EVA suit." As Hanson nearly turned upside down completely he pushed off with his hand, moving to the 'ceiling'. "Or just give it to me before you end up smashing into an asteroid."

George stood looking at the young man, noting his copying of the posture and making a mental note to remind his father in the next letter. "I've called for many from across the Empire for this division. You'll be fighting along side fresher recruits as well as veterans such as Centurion Deryk Orgs. He is not your commander before you ask, his expertise will be helpful in supporting those still acclimating to the environment. Each one of the soldiers sent upwards is expected to come back. You will put aside such childish notions if you wish to prove yourself, they will not improve the evaluation of your performance. This operation will not only support this division, but the Empire as a whole should you succeed. This should make clear the brevity of the situation. I expect your best and the best from each member of this launch."

George looked down to the soldier in front, seeing the eagerness to prove himself and the pride that came from his heritage. It seems even the previous commanders for him hadn't fixed him straight yet, and George didn't expect Tyr to properly do so either, but providing plenty of competitive pilots would help each individually. "The briefing will be in half in hour. I expect you to be punctual as usual."

As the girl was sizing him up, and Tyr was about to reverberate his demand for an explanation, when another soldier from behind him began to spout out about a car and a boar. Practically stunned, Tyr was silent for a moment, just staring at the man before replying; "If that is the case Carius I better not see such a vehicle in front of the mess and in its proper place at the motorpool, with whatever boar you're spouting on about generously donated to the cooks for Delta Team's return meal." Internally Tyr let out a large sigh, recognizing the name from his new roster, his full file had escaped the Centurion but this certainly placed the man on Tyr's new watchlist after the shrimp in front of him. Already she started to explain her story of the incident.

Even with the other engineers' recollections of the event, Tyr could tell she was being facetious. "I see, and I'm certain you did all that you could as a fellow soldier of the Empire to help him to his feet and ensure his safety. After all, relaxing in this mess hall after your fellow soldier has bene injured in your presence I would expect nothing less from an exemplary soldier about to launch into space. Of course if this isn't true, then an inquiry and grounding would be in order for any parties involved, intelligence or standard forces." Tyr paused for a moment to allow her to consider the situation. "Whether they sitting behind a desk or the luckiest of klutzes, its expected that you help your fellow soldier when they are in need or the Empire would not be in the position that it is. Your compliance is expected for the operation or I will ground you. Am I understood?"

If nothing else in space, the colonist certainly showed themselves to be an efficient kind of people to keep up constant maintenance on their machines. Of course if one of those machines just happen to keep them all alive it'd be no surprise. Their mechanical expertise extended from the base's subsystems and life support to the mobile suits and ship equipment which provided their newest technology to consume. As Hanson passed the various pilots, ablemen and mechanics he looked over the suits with more vested interest. The mixture of machines from different armies and standards was appalling for a military, but given the capability of some Hanson could applaud them for their desire for power. He soon reached his own suit, a dark blue and black suit without anything but the blades on its arms.

Despite the mysteries surrounding the suit, Hanson insisted no one touch the suit while he is away, mostly out of his own curiosity of the suit's features. His own true capabilities on mobile suit were limited to combat only after all, finding out how to fix this suit would be impossible if it ever was destroyed. Watching them each day he would learn a bit more, but only as much as the rest of them if any. He pulled himself into the chest and turned on the unit's systems, cycling through the start up programs and checking the stability in case anyone decided to be a bit daring. After the screens finally caught up they revealed nothing out of the ordinary save for the date, still stuck in the year 325PD. After double checking each system he concluded no one had touched his machine, and promptly left the suit with a grin.

Pushing off from the cockpit door, Hanson directed his body towards the nearest door to the cafeteria, not hungry enough to use the rations he just won. Living in enough Federation ships made the coming and going from halls in zero-g easy enough to the man, and he was being propelled by the powered handles in the halls to his new objective. When he was flying through the halls however, a pair of bodies floated nonchalantly by, causing him to reach out and run his hand along the wall to affect his trajectory, shifting with his legs to float behind them likesome swimmer poised to hit the water, only feet first. "Check the halls you're passing through!" he barked to them, his hands grabbing onto the corner of the 4-way corridor to confront the duo. He pinned himself in the entryway to the hall on their 'left' as he glared to them.
