Alright, ladies and Germs. Here’s the idea as it stands, let’s see whose interested.

I’ve been wanting to do a virtual reality RP for a while now, inspired originally by watching the Anime, Sword Art Online but the story itself is based on a book that I am in the process of writing.

Firewood is the first, or most impressive, Fully Immersive Virtual Reality (FIVR) MMORPG of its kind. A massive virtual world on a thousand different servers all connected to one gargantuan network. The Long and short of it is that five years after the games initial launch there are over 25 million players logging on to play Firewind on any given day. With the Fifth Anniversary Celebration approaching a cyber terrorist attack is launched. A virus that tears through the servers and leaves all those affected unable to log out of the game. Their physical bodies are left in a comatose state in the real world while their minds are stuck within the game itself.

Death in the game will result in death in real life.

Attempting to remove the hardware from the player will result in death in real life.

You are trapped inside the game and no one knows quite what is required to escape. It could be a quest, or finding an artifact, or defeating a specific boss monster. No one knows.

The day of the attack a Mass PM goes out to every player in the 6 servers that were affected by the virus before Yxel Entertainment Systems was able to disconnect the others from the network, explaining how players are taped, the consequences of suffering an in game death, etc. With only six servers in operation, each running at capacity there are over 150,000 players trapped within the world of Firewind.

Virtual Reality gamers are known as Fivers by most people as a play on the FIVR Acronym.

I’ve got some twist and turns planned for you guys, in particular leading to who did it and why.

——

Now, to lay out a few ground rules. Players will have to play two characters. One will be a knew player, someone that just logged in for the first time and has never played Firewind before. This player won their console system, their copy of the game, and all the hardware required in some raffle or by answering a few questions for a representative of the company. The catch was they were to plug a data stick into the console that would run a subroutine, designed to gather player data such as learning curve, combat statistics, etc, so that Yxel Entertainment could create even better games.

This is a lie. The data stick actually contains the last few lines of code for the virus that causes everyone to get trapped in the first place. Your characters are directly responsible for trapping everyone else, even if it was by accident.

Second character will be someone who has been playing or a while. No one higher than level ten, but they’ll have been around for a bit. Since everyone is going to have two characters I will be limiting this to five, maybe six players, just to keep things from getting too confusing with too many characters running around.

With that said I think I’ll cut this off to keep from dumping too much on you at once. More can be discussed and explained as we go if we get enough interest.

CS

Name: Connor

Alias: Sparks

Age: 27

Appearance: 5' 11", 190 lbs in good physical shape. Has a scar on the left side of his jaw, a thin line that runs from his ear to his chin.

Biography: grew up in new Orleans until his powers manifested one day at school. Family and friends all suddenly became terrified of him and he left it all behind one night after he came within an inch of losing his life. He's been traveling around ever since.

Powers: solid light projection

Equipment/Gagdets: none required but he has a triumph motorcycle that he built himself and always has a zippo lighter in hand, even though he doesn't need it.

Other:
"Don't have anything that could be used to fix a truck," Gareth called down. "How long you been on your own?" If this guy had been by himself for a while it presented a few options.

Number one he could be smart and a survivor. Useful on a bat shit crazy endeavor such as the one they were contemplating. Would also be good to have someone else who could take over driving, or watch at night when they needed to sleep.

Number two, he's a murderous fuckwad that would as soon kill them in their sleep as he would help protect Felicity. Might he even sell her out to the first person they cane across that he could make some kind of profit off of?

He leaned over further, turning so he could poke his head out the window and look down at the man, just one floor below their window.
"No worries," Mai'lo said, waving away the apology. "Come here. Have a seat and take a moment. Eat something, we're buying." He signaled one of the servers and ordered another round of drinks for the table and plates of food for himself and the new girl. Might as well take his own advice and eat something.

"What's your name?" He asked, gently, after she was seated and food and drink had been served all around. "I'm Mai'lo. That's Kip, Delcastle, and Bulwar. Last two are brothers as I understand it."

No reason not to help someone else in distress. He was starting n to feel a bit ashamed of himself as well. It was horrible, but people were going to die in this game. Kayaba made certain of that and there was nothing he could do about it. Falling apart wouldn't do him or anyone else any good.

He tucked into his food and waited for the girl to calm herself down and start talking to them.
I'm likely to do a gravity based Superhero but depending an your choices I'll do something else

That's funny! I was using a guy that could manipulate gravity in another rp that's fizzled out apparently. No worries I want to try for some different kinda characters. I'm thinking either solid light projection or possibly Tactile Telekinesis.
Alright. I'll jump on a cs later. Gotta decide which character I want to use first.
Mai'lo nodded when Delcastle talked about getting swot up in the hype. "I bought the game because my ex-wife moved away with our kids. I was hoping that after the initial run I could get them copies and we could meet up in the game to play. Not the same as seeing them in person but I could still hug them and talk to them about their day. How school was going and all that, you know?" He sighed and leaned his elbows on the table in front of him.

"Now, I miss them more than ever. But I'm so glad I wasn't able to get them copies off the game right away. I wouldn't want them trapped in here with me."

He jumped when someone suddenly fell right next to their table and his hand dove into his pocket. Before he could attack he realized what had happened and shoved his hand back into his pocket after pulling it half way out. Not before a flash of light glinted off something metal in his hand though.

Delcastle helped the girl up before he could stand so he only offered her as reassuring a smile as he could and settled back into place. As big as he was, he had frequently been told that a smile from him was sometimes a frightening looking thing. He didn't get it but he understood smaller people tended to be afraid of him, so he always tried to be as calm and polite as he could in public situations. Just to put people at ease.

"You alright?" He asked.
Should we just throw a character sheet up here if we want to snag a spot?
We're waiting on me? I'll look it over again and see what I can come up with.
I've been trying to find a decent superheroes rp for a long time. They always fall apart though so I'd love to give it a shot. Fit a handful of characters I could brush off with some interesting powers.
