Derrick followed the orange Mustang, keeping back, but not so far that he'd lose her. After a brief drive she pulled into a Starbucks parking lot and got out, locking the car before she went inside. He pulled into the space next to her and turned off the bike. Helmet of he set it on the seat, unzipped his jacket and turned to state at the building.

"A fecking Starbucks," he muttered. "Why's it hafta be a Starbucks?" He mentally bemoaned his poor fate and prayed this chick wasn't a preppy wannabe. She didn't look it but looks didn't mean much.

Going inside he got in line behind her, doing his best to look at the menu on the wall and not at her, as people ordered their non-fat soy lattes and their frappuchinos and other such ridiculous nonsense.

"Sir?" He blinked as the voice intruded on his irritated musings and glanced down. There was a gap between him and the register and the lady there was giving him an expectant look.

"Oi, feck me. Sorry 'bout that. I was off in me own little world there. I'd like jest a black coffee, please. Not'in fancy, ye know?"

He paid for his coffee, added some cream and about a half a cup of sugar and searched around the place until he found the girl. She was sitting at a small table, coffee and a sandwich in front of her. She was looking through a newspaper and a glance around told him the chair opposite her was the only empty spot left in the place so he strode over before he could lose his nerve and stopped at the table, one hand on the back of the chair.

"Um... sorry but this looks like tha only empty spot left ta sit," he said, his accent a little thicker than usual. "D'ya mind if I join ye fer a minute?"
Mai'lo glanced at the fang, considering it for a moment before shrugging. "I'm not really sure I could do anything with it," he admitted. "I've put most of my points into strength and speed. I don't have much skill for blacksmithing or crafting, so you should keep it. Make something good out of it."

He pulled the brass knuckles off his hands and tucked them back into his pockets, flexing his fingers for a moment once they were stowed away. "Those things worked out better than I thought they would," he muttered. "Might not need to break out Wodin for a while."

He stretched, joints piping and muscles straining for a moment before relaxing again and looking around. "How about we head deeper into the woods?" He asked. "We might find some better loot."
@Zelosse well it's book two in a PNR trilogy. The Moon Forged Trilogy. Just sent my last chapter to my co-author. She's gonna bang out the epilogue and then send it back to me. At that point I get to go through the entire book making fidgety adjustments and rewrites to try and expand and clean up the book a bit before it goes to first round edits.

@DestinyStar thanks. It's been a fun road. We've got one more book to write together on this project but I'm also working on like eight other books in various genres from zombies to superheroes.

Working on my post now.
Apologies. Worked 20 hours the other day at the day job and been trying to hammer out the last few chapters of this book I'm working on with a friend of mine. We're two chapters away from finishing and set a publish date today.

I'll get a post in as soon as I can.
Apologies for my delay now. Worked 20 hours the other day at the day job and been trying to bang out the last few chapters of this book between my co-author and I. We set a release date for the publish as well so we're now sprinting for that finish line. I'm excited.

Working on the second to last chapter of the book right now then sending it back to her for the epilogue. After that I'll get to jumping on my post here.
@BlackPantherCats Are evil. Fight the good fight, brother.
"So let's switch," Mai'lo said and slid around the man, steel covered fists flashing out to strike the stunned wolf six times in rapid succession. The creatures health bar dropped to nothing and it shattered into a million points of light as he spun to face the three new targets.

He stood back and held out a hand toward the beasts, giving a little bow to Bulwar. "After you, Sir."
Well let's see if we can drum up some interest!
Bump
O: Is there room for more?!

"There's one at the door, at the gates of damnation. Be it theif, thug, or whore. There's one at the door, and there's room for one more, rill the end of creation."
